I have used this trap often....You do not need to dig out the sod as shown in the video....Just push down the loops into a active run to mark the ground...then take a sharp spade or straight scraper blade and cut straight down through the ground (sod)...this is where you will insert the loops...Now push the ground (sod) down between where the loops will go so the tunnel has been flattened out (this is where the trap pan will set)...Now set the trap with gloved hands...
not being funny but ive noticed all the american mole traps are huge! hear in the uk ours are 4-5inch long tops,
i make my own traps our of gas pipe have done for 10 year

Thank you for your kind comment. I plan to do more, but budget cuts in MSU Extension has caused me to spend more time in other areas.
