  • TMG - a great Aussie band- All hail TMG and FRIP Ted

  • Tropical Tasty Treat.

  • love this song!! This was a hit in 1976 and reached no 10 on the Kent Report which was the chart before the Aria's it spent 22 weeks in the charts.

    Brings back heaps of memories.

  • Makes me want a Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum and Coke! mmmm...tasty!

  • omg, i haven't heard this song for so many years. I didn't realize it was old Ted. god bless his sole.

  • love this band!!! im suprised my cassette still works after 26 years :)

  • Looks like Palm Beach, Sydney

  • @breadbaker226 Hole in one.. Palm Beach.. I was on the film crew.. nice day of work with a good band.. director Russell Mulcahy of now mega fame..

  • great clip !!!!!!!! and not the Hoff

  • This is amazing - many memories of a time when we really were laid back

  • these guys remind me of the hobbits from lord of he rings for some reason

  • RIP the great Ted

  • this video is hilarious!

  • great song

  • Very cool guys.

  • RIP Ted..and thanks

  • he did well for a lad from oldham r.i.p Ted

  • Shading Under Coconut Trees!?

    THAT'S DANGEROUS!!!

  • Remembering see you live in 1975 Ted!!xx

  • Great 70s style 'laid-back' song by Ted. The 70s was the era when this type of 'cool-out', 'take-it-easy-man' song / sensory genre was all the go. We could sure do with a return to this 70s kind of feel / ambience in modern-day OZ culture/music. Far too hectic these days, all-round. PS - I can see NO link to Jimmy Buffett here. Ted did this quite separately, I'm sure. Jimmy's style is originally different .. & I still feel that "Margaritaville" is Jimmy's hallmark song .. amongst many greats.

  • classic aussie 70's

  • I wonder if Jimmy Buffett saw this vid. before he recorded his hit "Margaritaville"? (Since, that song would have come out after this vid. was made and released).

  • tmg always have and always will be number one band for me they are great group of guys to talk to especially ted

  • tres cute. I love the vocals. so gentle. yum.

  • He was great! RIP TED

  • looks like palm beach in sydney.....great song RIP Ted

  • love tmg

  • I'm not sure, But it does sound like I heard this song before I first found out about TMG. I'm not accusing TMG of copying anything, But it may be because I listened to The Beach Boys a lot back in 2002.

  • 101Volts, you are commenting from a background of ignorance, Ted wrote and performed many songs and his style differed over a period of years but don't besmirch his given talent, check out his other songs, no Beachboys involved, guaranteed.

  • I'm well aware of his songs, I've heard songs such as Lazy Eyes, Heart of Stone, Their cover of Sha La La Lee... I even have two albums on records. I may have wrote that because you know, When I see a video with beaches and music I may also think of the Beach Boys which is crazy because the singing style is completely different and so is the music.

  • never heard of this band b4.....sounds pretty cool...wish i would have heard them back i n the 70's......did they ever hit it big in the states?.rock on

  • 'Lazy Eyes' (found on my nzoz1978 account) was the closest they ever had a hit in the US.

TMG's biggest hit 'Jump In My Car' was made a hit again by David Hasselholf (check both versions on youtube).

  • @nzoz1976 SPEW! Hasselhoff! He obliterated that song! LUCKY Vanda & Young did a bang up job on the music! A tad more rocky but with the same feel as Teds!

POOR Ted, he'd be rolling in his GRAVE if he could hear Hasselhoffs' travesty!

  • @ace69er I saw TMG perform may times and I think Ted would Laugh his head off at Hasselhoff and would take it as a Huge compliment- Remember he was a VERY COOL GUY !!

    R.I.P. Ted

  • @MrFU2ok He WAS! But HASSLEHOFF????

  • @MrFU2ok You're right about that very cool and a great bloke. Never took himself too seriously.

  • Nice to hear this song again.

It was a sad time when we lost Ted Mulry, Shirley Strachan and Marc Hunter in a relatively short space of time...all a great loss to the Australian-NZ music scene

  • Really enjoyed the feeling of that, never heard it before....

  • Good song, I think I heard it before I saw this video.

  • I feel like a drink every time I here this !

  • DO NOT INSULT TMG!!!!!!!!!!!

its about show not about practicality

  • sorry

  • Absolute corker.

  • Don't know if anyone can clear this up for me. I checked this song in the Australian Rock Encyclopedia and it said this was a hit in March 1977 and yet I can remember this song being included in a Countdown episode from January 1977 which featured the hit singles from the previous meaning this was a hit from 1976.

  • The video clip was premiered on Countdown in December 1976 - meaning it falls into the 1976 category. It did, however, become a hit in March 1977...

  • allways missed

  • Ted is a Rock legend and sadly missed by all TMG fans

  • excellent classic, I like Jamaica Rum as well.

Nice to sit on the beach and drink Jamaica RUM.

  • Sweet song, fond memories. Ta.
