  • okay, we get it! its sanskrit! not latin! wow.

  • Beautiful, but this is not Latin, it is Sanskrit, a mantra from the Heart Sutra of Buddhism.

  • Well, this is NOT latin, it is sanscrit. It is the Heart Sutra. Good to know.....

  • this is a Buddhist chant....gone, gone, gone beyond....gate,gate, paragate...

  • Ummm, this isn't a Latin song - it's from the Buddhist Heart Sutra, which was originally in Sanskrit. This is a very meaningful & important mantra for Buddhists.

  • this song is a buddhist mantra..not latin

  • Wow, what a critic. This song can be sung at this tempo. it says "with joy and energy" so... yeah. =P

  • your clapping is super unenthusiastic and it would look waaaayyy better if you all raised your hands and clapped at the same time.

    other than that, not bad.

  • Ahh~! The Mixed choir at OCSA is singing this now XDA biiiit slower in the beginning though.

And...Random.. comment, about the mention of good Latin pieces, I love Cantate Domino and Adoramus Te as well~~ I sang them in Middle school choir <3

  • i sang this song in my school choir but our tempo was a tad slower

  • i sang this song it was so much fun at festival we made everyone start dancing. good job

  • wow im excited to sing this for 8th grade region choirrr!

  • its sanskrit, from the heart sutra, it means gone gone, gone beyond, gone beyond the beyond, praise to the awakened

  • we're singing this song in chorus right now and i love it so much !

  • por que hacer vibrar un mamtram de tanta fuerza de esa manera..no tiene sentido,,saben ellos para que sirve, el proposito de esa entonacion..espero que si.

  • my high school performed this and my high school was way better..we slowed it down more than this tho..it was a great peice tho

  • ya it's def not latin. it is sanskrit. it is a buddhist chant. if you are looking for a good choral piece in latin, i suggest "Cantate Domino". or any palestrina piece. like "Adoramus Te" or "Sicut Cervus". Palestrina was a master of religious music, and it is all in latin. also scores are pretty cheap for his pieces i think.

  • Palestrina RULES, except for "Superflumina Babylonis". Our choir nearly committed suicide after performing that one for five straight months. X_x

  • let's get this straight.

The language is sanskrit! The religion is Buddhism.

  • actually it is buddist.

theres a paragraph on the score and its says its a buddist mantra

  • It's not latin or buddist!!!

  • My brother Andy is in the front row!

    OMG Mr.Clark!!!

    I miss him!

  • My brother Andy is in the front row!

    OMG Mr.Clark!!!

  • its not latin its buddist

  • oh....our choir teacher told us it was latin...haha

  • @MidnightRenegade2010 wow. your choir teacher needs to become... em.... smarter?

  • very good!!

(this is a Mantra, not a latin song)
