I'm ibo but not at all offended at this very thought provoking video. The intrigue is that our marriage matches are based on marital, foundational and cultural values. These have often proved to last longer than western marriages on the long run. African ibo values and would stake all to make a marriage last unlike western counterparts. Good and bad marriages equally have bad times and challenges. All i can see in this caricature is ethnocentrism
@nachikor I'm not sure you are an Igbo, because Igbos do not refer to themselves as ibo or ibos. It is people of other nationalities who call them ibo.

Well i appreciate the fact that you read about Igbo culture and like their ways or living and doing things. I only wish i can expose you guys to the pratical environment of all what you red in "things fall apart" it use to be a bigger ceremony with a lot of protocules which takes time b4 its all accomplished. then the two can proceed to the last one called wine carrying after which they are customally declared husband and wife. they can at this point proceed for church wedding if they like

I assume that y'all were just having a good time and didn't really try to be factual. I assume this is like the time I dressed up like Dionysus and filmed a personal ad for my school project.
Igbo culture is really awesome we all think! We read Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe which was and EXCELLENT book I loved it. Our goal was to make a presentation about marriage rituals according to the book and in the book they used broomstick for the bride price. But we didn't have enough brooms so we just used sticks. and omg we should have totally used goats. :) The video was very fun to make.
white people don't look right doing, wearing, or singing anything cultural or natural lol. it just looks so out of place lol...
