I actually switched my 360 into SD mode (since you can't output HD and composite at the same time) and fed the composite into my DVD recorder, and then ripped the disc and fed the MPEG into my editor. Gotta find a way to do less encodes, though - I did the main part of the video first, then fed it back in to tack on the open and the little slate saying what song it was. 2nd generation digital video looks pretty rough :(

The track turned out great. Are you using a capture card or a direct link from the system to the laptop?
