Everytime I try telling other black females about how to grow their hair they respond with "oh girl, thats too much work" and I'd reply "and that's y you'll alway b considered bald head"
@ladyen7 or they start looking at you like who is she and i hope she dont think she the sh.... i have to tell them that for most my life i was the bald chick. then they be like oh wow cause i pull out pics. b4 and after! i just be trying to help and some get offened.
Great growth! I'm trying to get to bsl length. Right now I'm at collar bone length and arm pit is my next goal. I have a few hair update vids if you want to check them out. Take care!
hey girl, great progress. I have a quick question you said you buned 99% so i am guessing you never used other protective styles like braiding and weaves.
Well ok then. You are just like the rest of us. I thought your hair grew long and thick naturally but you did put a lot of effort and work into it. Wow thanks lol
Girl, its been almost a year for me and I feel like my progress is extremely slow... I get discouraged a lot thinking like maybe this is the best my hair can do... After watching this I feel like I can keep going though... Thanks
did you try hair vitamins by hairfinity or exotic allure. i heard those products work. but more people use exotic allure. i may have spell wrong but you will find but.
How did you bun short hair? That's my biggest problem my hair is right at the nap of my neck so i'm having a hard time finding protective styles! any ideas??
This is amazing! I'm natural, but I'm glad to see that wearing buns and protective styling really does work. Where did you purchase the all natural coconut oil?
I Love this Video and also I checked out your Channel. Very interesting! If you need any help getting this Video and your Channel exposed to were it is top in all the search I found this site called tubeviews.(net) that has took my breath away. Girl Thank You! U Totally Just Made Me Believe That My Hair Can Get Longer. I'm Vowing Now To Take Care Of My Hair And Stop Being Lazy. And Hopefully My Hair Will Be As Health As Yours!
so im on your web site.. my question is if i do decide to go natural and take proper care of my hair... does this mean i can not braid my hair any more cause that will put to much manupilation(as you call it) to my roots and such.... im not really sure how to start.. i'm so used to braids and perm and such...lol..... but i want my hair to be long and pretty like when my mom used to take care of it.... HELPPP
how did your style your hair at the beginning of your hair regimen.. I started my hair regimen on 3.9.09 I'm currently shoulder length. the breakage has stopped but it's not long enough for a bunn please help
wow! im sooooo happy for you and your hair growth. you hair is so pretty! good job and keep up the good work. just where did you go to get your info on black hair care?
2 be truthful..I use 2 work in a hairshop when I was 16..has long as you take cae of your hair it will grow.Like get someone 2 message your scape. like play in your hair with thei fingers..keep oil or mix greases anykind u like..and whenever u feel your hair needs water just wash it sometimes let your hair get really wet s your pores can open. let the soap sit& leave in condition is great..use as much as you like it will not harm the hair.and look into some dark-n-lovely shampoo.2 open the pores
Wish every black woman could catch onto the 'secret' of protecting ends, adding moisture, deep conditioning and gentle handling of our hair..natural or relaxed!
Wow! You're hair looks great! You did an awesome job and I'm so proud of you(even though I don't know you) But still!!! Lol What products did you use on your journey? :o I'd like to know :D. My hair is pretty nice too, but I don't really have a routine or anything. I want one though, so I can feel like I'm doing all I can to keep my hair pretty. ^^ Any tips?
so how often do you trim your ends..and im contemplating on whether I should relax my hair for now just because of it keep breaking..could you have healthy relaxed hair?
Wow - amazing transformation!! Your hair is stunning - Great job!! I was surprised you have 4a/b coarse hair. I do also, but no relaxer has every straightened my hair - not lye, no-lye, not regular, not coarse/extra strength, not at a salon, or done at home. It's too bad, because I'd love to try your method.
mann i rrly need help with my hair cuz i had sum scalp conditon then it finaly gt thrrew it and only godd did that it was nice now muh hair jus fallin out left and rite i dnt no wat 2 do.!!
omg you did it its BEAutiful keep growing itas log as you an its so healthy shiney m so happy for you i lov it! IM DOING haircare as wll my hair breaks an thins becase i used to bleech it
OMG please tell me how you did that my hair is in the worst condition and like you i dont kjnow how to take care of it, im 23 and i would like my hAIR TO BE AT LEAST a shoulder length even girl plz help me
my hair is the same as yours in the beginning so what did you start to use on a regular basis? i dont use relaxers either but i want it at least to my shoulders
i was wondering since i have thick and relaxed hair that my hair would turn poofy and nappy from the wave nouveau finishing lotion if i were to purchase it
I have to say that this video gives me hope. This past Novemeber I have decided to take my hair care into my own hands (My stylist, in my opinion, should have done more to help me care for my hair and suggest that I NOT relax it until the breakage stopped). I have read and learned a lot ... but am still really skeptical that I can't stop my hair from breaking. Although, I have cut it down immensly. I will use this video as inspiration.
i have a really big question ive commented before but i just wanted to kno i have relaxed hair but im not really sure how i should wear it at night when i go to sleep ive been wrapping it for at least 3 years now but in this last year ivd noticed breakage on my left side (like really bad) its shorter so do you have any tips on night time maintance
At night, I tie a scarf around my hair with the back hanging down & loose, then I put a satin bonnet over it. Sometimes I do a loose bun and then cover with a satin scarf.
another question...i have thin hair it seems healthy but i have absolutly no volume whatsoeva i usually get mistaken for a mixed girl but i have no idea how to get it thicker any sugesstions?
You can use a shampoo specifically for increasing volume, do light protein treatments weekly followed by a moisturizing deep conditioner, use panthenol based products, castor oil etc.
I just started using the Profectiv hair products, and so far I've bought their oils, conditioners, shampoos and lotions. I have micros right now so I haven't tried the full effect of deep cond..
Have you tried this hair line? How often do you relax your hair? Is there a difference between relaxer and perms?
No sorry, I have never tried that line. I relax 4 times a year. Relaxers straighten the hair and perm makes the hair curly. Most blk ppl use perm and relaxer with the same meaning
I've been getting ticked off from all these vids I've watched of natural-haired Black women who think they're better than women w/ relaxed hair. But, finally there's a "Relaxed Lady" like myself who knows how the system works w/ no problem! Thank you for this video; it's a real encouragement! :D
My hair is also uneven due to chemical damage and two pregnancies and I was wondering should I get it cut even before I start the regimen for better results.
This is good info and very helpful as well. Stumbled upon you looking up Mizani (I like Phyto, just researching). More ladies should check out what you are doing and start loving their hair with proper care. I will be checking out your blog/community as well. Progression is so beneficial, peeps just gotta catch on to it. Thanks for sharing and inspiring!
I joined Hairlista and I am wandering around the site. So far I got your moisturizing video in the notebook. Perhaps you could give out a map of sorts, but I will keep peeking and poking lol! Thanks for a place to learn more!
wow, you have come a long way in one year. congrats. i have been starting my journey to healthy, longer hair since january this year. while i haven't seen that much growth it has felt better than it ever has and seeing women like you grow and take care of your has given me faith.
keep up the good work and thanks for sharing. oh, i am also a member of your hair forum site :)
I've used many. The last relaxer (Nov. 11th 2008) I used Mizani butter blends. Prior to that, I used Bronner Brothers NuExpressions. I've also used Motions.
please what relaxers do u use? i plan on using organic root stimulator, although over the years i stuck to soft and beautiful. i have dry and brittle hair and it breaks so much when i comb or when i wash it. so for a long time i havent had full/long hair...any advice and what do u think of aphogee 2 minute reconstructor, alot of people have said positve things about it..tanx
Hi saw some ur vids there very good.I was just wondering my scalap gets very dry just as my hair I wash it every week?is tht good or bad should i do more then that
Dry scalp needs moisture. I suggest you begin using a shampoo/conditioner targeted for dry itchy scalp. Also, a hot oil treatment on dry hair would be good for your scalp.
Thank you...your videos are very helpful!!! I am trying to grow my hair 3.5 inches by May but I want it to be healthier. If you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate them...
I wash and condition my hair every 7 days with pantene "relaxed and natural" products, I apply pantene mosturizer, let it dry and apply proclaim hair sheen and put it up in pins with a headband and thats about it. think I need to try something else like coconut oil I have hear good things about it. What do you think?
Are you relaxed or natural? If you are relaxed, you need to deep condition at least 1x/week. The hair sheen is not going to moisturize or protect your hair. I say look for moisturizing leave-in conditioner to use after your wash, a moisturizer, and an oil like coconut oil to seal it in.
I love your video, and even more I love the fact that your regimine is so simple. For some reason we think that in order to grow hair you must have an over the top regimine with expensive products.
I have hair that is past bra strap length and I believe that its because I stay away from the salon (except for simple cuts and trims). I have a really good conditioning mixture that I have come up with (cream of nature in the pink bottle, motions 911 and olive oil)
wow, good job.. keep doing what you do. my hair seems to love oils to. i still haven't learned my hair type. my hair is very thick and i have good lenght but i shed easy..
I love it! You use wave nuveau moisture lotion!! I thought I was the only one who used this- its the bomb- extra moisturizing right? I'll definately be looking to you to help me in my journey- keep it up your hair looks great!
To be honest, everyone's hair is different. You may get the same or different results than I have. It took me 3 months to see results in my hair thickness and length. I believe if you take vitamins, eat well and have a good regimen, your hair will do well.
You don't have to use the same products I used, you can use other quality lines i.e. Keracare, mizani, kenra etc. I bun because I want to protect my ends since they are the oldest.
no way...i was expection to see like shoulder lenght...but gosh that hair grew like grass...lol
wow my hair too was as short as yours i think around late 05 i think and by mid o7 i was half way to bra strap.. and then it broke off and started shedding excessively...i dont know how to make the shedding stop...it's been over a year now and i've tried the garlic and protien treatmenst and prayer...and it hasnt stop...any tips?
Thanks for watching! Your shedding may be due to low iron in your diet or a product that doesn't agree with your scalp (i.e. shampoo, oil, conditioner etc.)
I have hope then , I m gonna try to get those products I m living in canada but go often in the states .. my scalp is very dry and dandruff is getting me crazy , my hair is all over the floor . Thanks for your tutorials !
For the dry scalp I suggest getting a shampoo for dry itchy scalp or you can do a little overnight treatment of Essential Oils and Natural Oils. My good friend Traycee recommends that you do this 2x/week before a shampoo or co-wash:
Mix
Moisturizing Conditioner
Coconut Oil (optional)
Peppermint Oil
Rosemary Oil( Do not use Rosemary Oil if pregnant)
You look like me when I was your age LOL! A wonderful and inspiring transition in such a short period of time. Thanks for sharing. Your hair is gorgeous.
Thank you, thank you! Finally a REAL black girl growing long hair. Thanks for giving me real hope. I've finally found you! I will definitely check out your other sites. I Can't tell you what this means!

I've used many. The last relaxer (Nov. 11th 2008) I used Mizani butter blends. Prior to that, I used Bronner Brothers NuExpressions. I've also used Motions.

Hi saw some ur vids there very good.I was just wondering my scalap gets very dry just as my hair I wash it every week?is tht good or bad should i do more then that
creamfillin85 3 years ago
Dry scalp needs moisture. I suggest you begin using a shampoo/conditioner targeted for dry itchy scalp. Also, a hot oil treatment on dry hair would be good for your scalp.

How often do you wash your hair? and do you let it dry naturally?
601sbaby 3 years ago
I wash my hair every 3 days. I let it air dry.
HairliciousInc 3 years ago
Thank you...your videos are very helpful!!! I am trying to grow my hair 3.5 inches by May but I want it to be healthier. If you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate them...
601sbaby 3 years ago
Your welcome! What are you currently doing to your hair?? Do you have a regimen?
HairliciousInc 3 years ago
I wash and condition my hair every 7 days with pantene "relaxed and natural" products, I apply pantene mosturizer, let it dry and apply proclaim hair sheen and put it up in pins with a headband and thats about it. think I need to try something else like coconut oil I have hear good things about it. What do you think?
601sbaby 3 years ago
Are you relaxed or natural? If you are relaxed, you need to deep condition at least 1x/week. The hair sheen is not going to moisturize or protect your hair. I say look for moisturizing leave-in conditioner to use after your wash, a moisturizer, and an oil like coconut oil to seal it in.

do u think organic carrot oil works? Cuz im using it
tracey1690 3 years ago
ORS Carrot oil is a moisturizer and great for strengthening the hair. If your hair responds well to it, continue to use it.

I love your video, and even more I love the fact that your regimine is so simple. For some reason we think that in order to grow hair you must have an over the top regimine with expensive products.
I have hair that is past bra strap length and I believe that its because I stay away from the salon (except for simple cuts and trims). I have a really good conditioning mixture that I have come up with (cream of nature in the pink bottle, motions 911 and olive oil)
luvemdark 3 years ago
Thanks for watching and for the love. What is the name of the creme of nature conditioner you are refering to?
HairliciousInc 3 years ago
Not cream of nature (sorry about that) I meant to say optimum in the pink bottle.
luvemdark 3 years ago
wow, good job.. keep doing what you do. my hair seems to love oils to. i still haven't learned my hair type. my hair is very thick and i have good lenght but i shed easy..

does keeping your hair in a bun help it grow
littlemissperfect112 3 years ago
i'm sure it's much better with the ends but my experience with excessive ponytails has been that they break you edges off (if they're tight)

i know how to make my hair grow but it cost money! and as a college student sometimes that's not easy.

PLEASE!!!! PLEASE!!! READ IM N NEED 4 ADVICE
omg im a jr. n high skool right now an hoping 2 get my hair like urs but alil longer we have tha same goals..i wanted 2 ask a few questions..
how long did it take 2 c good results?..if i take hair, skin and nails vitamin and a good regimin will it work faster??...
do i have 2 use the same products u have? or sum other good products like keracare??
can i have a hair wrap instead of a bun 4 me 2 c results?
bonniee16 3 years ago
To be honest, everyone's hair is different. You may get the same or different results than I have. It took me 3 months to see results in my hair thickness and length. I believe if you take vitamins, eat well and have a good regimen, your hair will do well.
You don't have to use the same products I used, you can use other quality lines i.e. Keracare, mizani, kenra etc. I bun because I want to protect my ends since they are the oldest.

no way...i was expection to see like shoulder lenght...but gosh that hair grew like grass...lol
wow my hair too was as short as yours i think around late 05 i think and by mid o7 i was half way to bra strap.. and then it broke off and started shedding excessively...i dont know how to make the shedding stop...it's been over a year now and i've tried the garlic and protien treatmenst and prayer...and it hasnt stop...any tips?
blackgur20 3 years ago
Thanks for watching! Your shedding may be due to low iron in your diet or a product that doesn't agree with your scalp (i.e. shampoo, oil, conditioner etc.)
HairliciousInc 3 years ago
your hair looks really good girl, i can't wait till i get to that length.

Hey,
For the dry scalp I suggest getting a shampoo for dry itchy scalp or you can do a little overnight treatment of Essential Oils and Natural Oils. My good friend Traycee recommends that you do this 2x/week before a shampoo or co-wash:
Mix
Moisturizing Conditioner
Coconut Oil (optional)
Peppermint Oil
Rosemary Oil( Do not use Rosemary Oil if pregnant)
Eucalyptus Oil

I found this mix on Traycee's blog & tried it. It worked great and it felt WONDERFUL on my scalp.
