I know you need to capture 60 unique spellcards with all characters combined, but I honestly have no clue how it calculates which spells count towards that amount.

For example, I've captured, "Fox-Tanuki laser" like 30 times.

I've been capturing random spells with every person FOR LIKE 4 DAYS AND NO YUKARI!

By that logic so is Remilia, Suika (who lives in the shrine), Yuyuko, Orin, and any other youkai that took a fancy to Reimu. I'll grant you that Reimu and Yukari might consider each other friend, but they surely don't act like it.

Like I said, considering how Reimu acts towards everyone, I would say the only definitive friend she has is Marisa. Not to say she isn't friends with the youkai, but still I'd think twice before saying such.

"Mushihimesama Futari Black Label" on "GOD MODE" difficulty interests me in particular. i mean not for playing, but if you tried it. people say it's harder then touhou games. but seeing this fight and that one, i myself can't really decide. tho IMO Thouhou takes the cake in terms of being the better game. more colorful, and tonns more creative if u ask me. u can watch two vids that i did here:

I really haven't play Mushihimesama, but I agree Touhou is aesthetically the better game. You don't get the honor of possessing the image definition of danmaku by being ugly.

But no, I haven't play much shmups beside Touhou. Is not exactly my favorite genre. Even in Touhou I came for the music and in the process began playing and getting good at the games.

@raak1010 I agree, Touhou games usually have more unique aesthetics and symbolism in the danmaku, which helps contribute to its overall enjoyment value. Also, technically speaking, even Touhou's pathetic 640x480 fullscreen resolution beats the 224x448 resolution of some CAVE games.

Touhou could certainly use some improvement in graphics quality and depth, though. CAVE games often have more detailed backgrounds and complex game sprites that can show many states of movement instead of just three.

ah. whoever's interested, there's a pretty fine looking anime up here. it's only one episode in 2 parts, as they didn't yet continue it, but it's still worth watching i think. the first part goes by the title "Touhou Anime Project - Episode 1 - Part 1 [HD]". it's on TheFlameFox's channel in pretty neat quality to watch. i only wish they'd continue it.. :P

@Trueblade808 Actually, Queen Larsa really is the hardest boss. In touhou, it requires tactics and timing to dodge the patterns. In Mushihime-sama's final boss, they probably don't expect you to survive, even if you're Asian.

But when I play back, it says I didn't capture the card. Do I have to start the next stage or purposely loose all my lives in order for the capture to count? PLEASE HELP!!!

@raak1010 Just need to try really hard and when you beat Yuyuko there's a .01% chance she'll drop a Skip-Ran-and-Move-On-To-Yukari Card. You must then take it to CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN, who will rip it up and fight you with Youmu's spells. Finally, if you win, you get to skip Extra and move onto Phantasm :D

"ZUN became more thematic in later games". In Danmaku, maybe, maybe not. Poor Yukari suffers in that she is a Ran upgrd. But Yukari's danmaku does have a theme, it is subtle however. Her danmaku follow the theme of Yukari, or what I should say is, violet. Almost all but one of her spells contain violet, or colours that combine into violet (Red/Blue). Her spellcard names also follow the theme of boundaries, mostly. But alas, as a Ran upgrade her spells suffer. Least the fighters and 9.5 sort this

While some of Yukari's spells are easier than Ran's counterpart (I'm looking at you, 12 General Gods), they are mostly ramped up versions of them. Is not that they are easier, is that you transferred all the practice you already gained by playing against Ran.

B) Is not explain, but chances are that when Yukari made Ran her shikigami, she gave her that name, or at least the last name. By the same logic, most people assume Chen's last name is also Yakumo.

Around 1:12 you said you did not understand the dark purple kunai, they follow the same path as the light purple they are shot with (hense following you) but are slower, causeing them to show up in your space between the light purple. At least, thats my theory >.>

Patchouli. There are some tricky parts in the first three levels, but nothing that can't be done with some practice. I suppose for some people Meiling can be difficult, but personally I think the game truly picks up Hell levels on Stage four and break the walls of hell with Patch.
