actually it's different for each country, some allow international artists to perform for them... or songwriters from other nationalities etc...

Yes as long as either the lyricist or composer are from a certain land they can represent it, its the song that counts, not the singer. When you watch next year you will see that the main prize goes to the componist, the performer gets a differnt prize.

Thanks for clearing that up. I didn't realize it was the writers' nationality that counted. What about the composers, do their nationalities count, too?
