  • i want to study how to build one like that ? anny comment :)

  • Look how funny it is... When you search for things like "alternative energy" etc... the first video on top is a video from BP, or Exxon...

Like they really care about alternative energy.

  • Solar and wind energy are fee. They don't depend on human interference.

I didn't say: wind turbines and solar panels are free.

    There's a difference.

  • For those who are in dispute about the cost--- the huge modern ones are 3 Million, while smaller models are 80,000. And they can range anywhere in between.

  • Comment removed

  • Energy from the wind. It's free. What's wrong with "FREE ENERGY"?

  • @almdrs There is nothing wrong with free energy, but it is not free. It takes massive amounts of money to build and maintain. The dirty little secret is that without constant government aid, these "Green " companies wouldn't have the money to maintain these inefficient monoliths.

  • @superimposedtab

And without government subsidies our entire agricultural system would collapse immediately. Without subsidies and a nice fat pinch of corporate cronyism our oil industry would collapse as well. So, what's your point? We do not have a laissez faire economy, the government is the reason anything functions, and the reason it functions as well or poorly as it does.

  • @almdrs -- Where in the world do you get the idea that these behemoths are "free". Do you ever read about something or are you one of those lemmings who just jump right off the cliff because something is called "green"? Wind turbines are inefficient, pollution causing, environmental, wildlife killing, farmland destroying disasters. Go do a bit of research and stop being so gullible.

  • Small and medium wind turbines are noisier than the large ones, they compensate their small diameter on the high RPM. Larger turbines generate less noise per MW.

  • MEAL!

  • Hardly any noise pollution. What's all the fuss about?

  • Ok.No wind no energy. These things are cash Cows for greedy energy companies.Shocking destruction of wild land.

  • @Themyarhills They're built in extremely windy environments and on land with little wildlife to begin with. You can be sure that the state of California spends billions protecting the environment during construction. That's a fact.

  • its actually around $3,000,000 a turbine depending on size and what not, im actually going to school for wind turbine tech! i cant wait to get started

  • @Kirbdogg69 lol, 3 million?? fucking idiot. there are 4,000 said to be here in the 1 video... do the math fuck head. You should pay more attention in school buddy. I have a feeling you arent gonna get far if you are this fucking stupid

  • Don't smoke too much weed...

  • bajs apa :)))

  • That's really cool!

  • 1:22 Get to work you lazy bastard!

  • thats gay as shit, those wind turbines are not crazy at all, they seem to follow all the rules

  • @djr0108 Lmfao ;)

  • 330,000 per windmill,thats bull. i dont believe it.

  • @RevelationGJS -- You're right. Some of these cost 10x that amount.

  • When the wind stops blowing you have to have a real power plant online and ready to produce power...FAIL!

  • Although they are a visual curiosity, they are an unsightly, inadequate, and unreliable source of electricity.

  • @tlcroley, their unsightliness is no small thing, since they're being called "environmentally friendly." I think they are creating a growing tragedy of lost landscapes.

  • @tlcroley Unsightly? I think they are quite pretty.

  • @tlcroley -- You are 100% correct. Not to mention that in order to produce these things, they need to extract rare earth elements from the ground and in doing so, massive toxic wastelands are being created. Not to mention the disruption to wildlife, migratory bird paths and destruction of farmland. Green only equals greed when it comes to these things.

  • Engineered by NASA??? What the Fxxx - Can you say Developed and Engineered in Denmark during 1970 and 1980 - This is the country that made windpower into an industry, they have dominated, and still are dominating this segment - VESTAS and Siemens Windpower.

  • dam i wish i could bboy like that

  • I'm just glad the environmental movement didn't gain prominence until the late twentieth century or we'd still be reading by candlelight.

  • What looks like hundreds of turbines at $300,000 each and it provides power for.... thousands. not 10s of thousands not hundreds of thousands but thousands in a state that has 36 million people... Lets be realistic this is not a solution to anything.

  • @Secretsofsociety You forgot to mention the people paying these things are taxpayers.Lets all get mad at big wind....lol

  • at 0:56 two bladed wind turbines are in the backround

  • windmeal.

  • Worst design and totally obsolete. A copy of the dutch windmills of hundreds of years ago.

    Typical US thinking.

HA HA HA HA HA HA

  • Buuuullshit........

  • These things are destroyin America!

  • And not a radioactive death to be seen !

  • Why don't they show you all the Bald Eagles, Hawks and Geese that fly into these windmills and get chopped to pieces? Well? Another stupid idea by stupid Green Communists. Yes, Green is the new Red.

  • @MrTruthBeTold51 Trolololooloolololololol

if you're not:Look at all the animals coated in oil from oil spills

  • @ubermonkey120 Really genius? Animals get coated with oil in oil spills? Well done master of the obvious. We've seen those news reports. The question was why don't we see reports of Bald Eagles, Hawks or Geese that fly into these windmills and get chopped into little pieces? Your moniker is fitting.

  • I wish they would put some on my farm!

What a beautiful dance of the windmills. It sure beats smokestacks and toxins

  • I wish they would put some on my farm!

  • Oooh - wow. $300,000 per turbine. And, how often do they break down?

Compare that to the BILLIONS of dollars spent to clean up ONE nuclear accident, ALL paid for by TAXPAYERS.

All the electricity in the world won't help if we don't also have the cars, boats, and airplanes powered by them.

Also, we need to cut down on world population with mandatory vasectomies.

This issue is SADLY ignored by the rightwing conservative media.

  • To those complaining about wind turbine noise and shadow flicker: but all you manmade-climate-change and evolution deniers go on and on and on and on and on about how the planet is NOT populated, how there is PLENTY of room.

So, you therefore have ABSOLUTE ZERO right to complain about wind turbines, because there is PLENTY of space to put them far away from populated areas.

  • But blah blah blah nuclear power is cheaper blah blah blah it is impossible to switch to renewables like solar and wind therefore we must burn coal blah blah blah.

Love how no matter how much proof (that we can go 100% wind and solar) you shove up the ass of anti-environmentalist anti-American traitors like the coal-nuke-fracking nuts (Limbaugh, Beck, O'Reilly) they still prefer to destroy the economy taxing the public to clean up nuclear/oil/fracking spills and messes.

  • 300,000 Dollars...?? OMG thats tooooo costly..

  • it is not a windmeal your not eating them

  • BTW - whining skeptics who point out mistakes in this vid - why don't you use your knowledge and put forth SOLUTIONS.

  • I grew up in Desert Hot Springs and am very accustomed to seeing these wind TURBINES. I'm on the fence when it comes to their appearance. True they take away from the landscape, but they aren't being developed everywhere so I don't have a prob with it. They also need relatively little space cleared for their development.

I'm more concerned about solar projects. There's already one being developed close to Hwy 62 on Dillon. All desert plants have been completely ripped out and cleared.

  • the way he pronounces "windmill" makes me want to rip out his trachea.

  • ___ w w w diymagneticmotor com Free energy

  • Wind Power is great and all... but.. I'm not a fan of subsidies...

  • i feel like im on a lame rollercoaster with the way he talks

  • damn those are old ones. look at the blades lol and how many there are

  • @Jakanddaxter1999 I live in central Illinois and I can't go 30 miles in any direction without seeing seemingly endless fields of these. At night, all you see are synchronized fading red lights in the distance. None of which are more than 5 years old.

  • the cool thing is that one new windturbine (enercon e126 with 7500kw) could replace 25 of those in the video with 300kw : )

  • they are so small!

  • the windmills today make easily 2 MW

they go up to much bigger sizes even.

A thousand of them makes a nuke power plant.

I think the comment with 3200 mills for a coal power plant considers the mills in the garden. The kits from a hardware store. Not real mills.

  • I like windmills but they're so damn useless....

1 relatively small coal power plant = 3200 large wind turbines :S

  • @marshallrulezzz

One Relatively small coal powerplant ( we have one sitting at the bay) ist 250 MW.

That is nothing like 3200 turbines, even if theyre only working 1/3 of the time, thats like a couple hundred turbines....

These things tend to have several Megawatts nowadays.

  • @Mrpsychotehpyro hmm, thats small indeed, I was thinking more of a medium sized 950MW plant, and its true that modern ones are quite efficient, its just that 70% of 'm are old and inefficient and produce about 1MW on max output

  • The point is, Wind energy is no competition for Big Powerplants.

But in areas like Denmark and northern Germany (thats where i live) we dont have huge cities, and due to that Wind energy already feeds so much of our power that the grid is having difficulty due to the redistribution of load. Politicians + corporations are drafting their plans for new high voltage lines. You cant feed New York on wind alone.

But Kiel city with its lil 250MW Plant and plenty of sea wind, might work !

  • @Mrpsychotehpyro "The point is, Wind energy is no competition for Big Powerplants." I should have put it that way really. I just get fed up from time to time with the "green-revolutionists" who want the world to run off off sunlight and wishfull thinking (unrelated to vid, I know ^^)

I saw this plan for a "turbine city" (google it) the other day, I love it when they actually design the future like this, I'm all for power plants, but renewable energy definately solves part of our problems!

  • Noise and shadow flicker is terrible. Nuclear energy is safe and silent.

  • @KypHeM yea, just ask Japan if nuclear energy is safe.

  • Has anyone seen a wind turbine shadow flicker? Imagine living in California and having to see the shadow flicker every single day every minute of the day.

  • We need millions upon millions of wind turbines to support California alone. These don't work on the grand scale, let alone the fact they completely destroy the surrounding area.

  • Complete waste of money.

  • Where can I get my own wind meal?

  • @yaosio

    Magnificent sight ? It's a hellish sight.

  • @roddy76to86 -- I agree. What is magnificent about this? It's just another example of man destroying what was once beautiful landscape.

  • Iowa is starting to look like this all over the state. Except for the mountains of course

  • Magnificent sight... But only if you hate the natural landscape...

  • If these windmills are so efficient - why do we need to subsidize them? Having hundreds of 150 ft windmills is a great addition to the beautiful landscape.

  • yeh he says CAN produce but most of the time these things struggle to get half that.

no doubt all of them windmills are about as efficient as 1 medium size coal plant.

  • @xOwneDTBHx

Great - so you're in favor of continuing to pollute and destroy our planet with coal plants....

  • @northernlights1013 well to be honest theres no choice if u have almost 6 billion people on the planet "windmills" aint gonna cut it simple fact.

also the coal plants nowadays are highly advanced with brilliant filtering systems on them, they dont produce nowere near as much pollution as they used to.

  • 1:00 he says each turbine can produce 300 kw's an hour.... does he even know what a watt is?

  • @rawheas It was a minor slip. Have a look at your power meter, the energy ised by your house is measured in kilowatt hours (kW-h) or the average power consumed per hour.

For example a 100 watt light bulb running for one hour would consume 100 W-h, let it run for 10 hours and you have used 1 kW-h.

  • 1:20 uhh Houston, we have a problem..

  • Technicians battle to stabilise a third reactor at the quake-stricken Japanese nuclear plant in Fukushima. I know which landscape I prefer. By the way, is the desert a poor area? And if its so un-profitable, why do energy giants invest in them so heavily? Maybe its partially to do with not having a technical nighmare to contend with when the plant is shut down. Ever been to Seascale? The dirty old man of Europe.

  • 300 000 dollar per one windmill. And there's over 4000 of them. I wonder if they do realize that they could have potentially saved some money if they had built about 4 modern nuclear reactors. (And oh good heavens, I do wonder about the annual maintenance cost of those windmills. So much moving parts. Well, I'm glad that I don't have to live anywhere near as those things, since those things can get quite noisy when the conditions are right.)

  • @metsapeikkoo Wind turbines are very expensive to put up and I worked in a warehouse supplying a GE plant that makes these, you would not believe how much it cost for one bolt or screw. Very expensive.

  • 300k!? if i were bill gates i would by a million of these

  • 300k ? That's just to put one up. Probably costs that much a year to maintain. After all you can't get the permits in CA to put one up and maintain it unless you do the customary pay for play and hire high cost union labor. But don't worry CA is so rich from paying off all the unions they have plenty of people crossing the border to pay the highest taxes for the least services in the land. LOL

  • The one wind turbine wasn't blowing in the wind as it should have, with the others. Why would the wind not affect it?

I think I would go mad having that as the landscape. The ways to generate energy easily and freely are still yet to be revealed and offered to us.

  • @LibertyTreeBud When there is already enough power they shut them down, when power is needed they restart it

  • Yuo sound like a reasonable fella. but its amazing what we can say for a nice few dollars. I bet you dont live anywhere near a wind turbine. as far as i,m concerned the only place these belong is far out at sea out of sight.. search you tube for Gerry Galvin to check out wind farm madness in Ireland

  • There have always been technological improvements/developments.

And if new technologies are more promising than the old ones, why shouldn't we subisidize them ???

We should always keep the markets in active competition. If there's no competition, then this will cost us a great deal of money.

  • nuclear power plants were developed by government projects and have been always subsidized by the government.

so if nuclear energy is such a great deal, why it will always depend on government subsidies ?????

Up to date one KWh of wind energy costs in Germany between 4 Cents and 6 Cents. And this technology is still improving!

  • Their called Wind TURBINES. NOT WINDMILLS. Your not grinding grain!!!

  • @Cyrix166 thanks! beat me to it

  • @Cyrix166 glad someone finally caught it.

  • @Cyrix166 You mean They're called wind turbines. Not "their". If you are going to correct someone, then you neeed to get it right. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

  • @juzzlookin LOL holy shit dude I get on people all the time for that!! WHOOPS!!! My bad dude! Big time sorry!!!

  • @Cyrix166 When I had bowel gas problems, my doctor prescribed me some wind pills.

  • thumbs up if you are in love with windmills.

  • @dulCISSIMA1 ur gay windmills are male

  • Creeeeepy!!!

  • those hidius things do NOT do any good to the landscape.

And if there is NO wind there is NO power.

    Its that easy.

They cost a fortune to maintain and break down al the time

    they cost 300.000 dollar each!!!

    They can´t handle strong winds.

  • @JANNE45Y Wind turbines are better than you think, the cows in a field don't even care about them as long as they don't create noise which they don't, there will always be wind, they do cost alot to maintain but for the people who own them get paid by the power companies, whatever extra power is transfered to the power companies..

  • If we are going to subsidize them with our money, shouldnt they at least be built here?

  • his voice says that he's a gay ..

  • Wind can not replace base load power on the grid!!! So the coal plants burn coal every day. The wind energy ""problem" is science not the people pointing out the flaws with wind power.

  • WHY are so many people starting big critical arguments!?!? For cryin' out loud, it's just a video of a whole load of wind turbines!!!!

  • 300K a pop? Jesus Christ. How about those houses invest in solar panels instead? They live in a mother-effin desert, and it would probably be a lot more cost-effective.

  • The complete destruction of the landscape. Your wimpy narration voice is the voice of a moron, who is unable to see the horror of the Wind Turbine Movement. Stop the Robots!!!

  • That one windmill at 1:21 should be black because it's not working.

    Hiyo!

    *rimshot.

  • The U.S. needs to be all over this. China has just finished a huge wind farm and the U.S. has not even started theirs. Catch up then pass them up!

  • @assoonas1 What "U.S. wind farm"? There are turbines all over the place. The government doesn't own the national electrical grid. Yet.

  • @talshiarr You need to pay attention to what is going on. There is a huge project that the govenment is funding that is to go up in the Mid west states. A few small turbines here and there are worthless to the country

  • @assoonas1 China is building nuclear power plants en masse. They want real electricity.

  • @ibykus1981 The U.S has more then any country in the world but they need about 20 more.

  • @ibykus1981 China is smarter. We are surrounded by morons, who prefer to destroy acres of land, take all available ground water to build the foundations, and then kill the Golden Eagles who represent America. Stop the Robot Turbines or China will decide our future for us.

  • @xwaystranger they don't kill any more birds than radio towers do

  • @kokofan50 I'm glad you like killing birds, but my complaint was that the wind turbines are not GREEN. They take ground water to construct, they take away the natural view for miles, they destroy ancient sites with irreplaceable artifacts, they make a Wild Place into an Urban Nightmare. Try putting your robots on all the tops of buildings in San Francisco. Try putting all your machines on the beaches of Marin County. Then we will finally see who is really GREEN.

  • @xwaystranger no i don't like seeing brids die. i want to see turbins in cities and out at sea too. if the people who put them on top of "ancient sites with irreplaceable artifacts" they are in the wrong for putting it there. it matters how much ground water they take out to make it but i don't see a problem with using ground water. i like how they look

  • @kokofan50 You like how they look because your favorite Movie is District 9 (complete trashed out landscape). You like how they look because you are a f&*king communist liberal who would like nothing better then the complete destruction of America (your other favorite movie V for Vendetta) As I listen to your most recent upload, it also seems like you are either a Robot yourself, or just love Robot Sound Programs.

  • @xwaystranger i like how they look because they look like pinwheels to me. i like D9 because its about staying the same person you are even if you change. i like V because its about the people not letting the government over step its rights. sorry i'm not even a cyborge and i do like syphony of science alot. now if you would stop trying to make crap up about me from what little you know of me say something worth saying

  • @kokofan50 Something Deep and Meaningful:1. "Changing into having a Lobster Hand is propaganda for eventual Robot take-over of Human limbs"( not just entertainment) .2. V is propaganda for communism with everyone the Same. 3. the Wind Turbines are not pinwheels, they are wasteful destructive machines. 4. You had better "change" or you are doomed, just like the retard in D9, who couldn't see how retarded he was even before the Lobster Hand.

  • @xwaystranger dude you are crazy

  • @kokofan50 Crazy and very dangerous.

  • @xwaystranger airplanes kill more birds than wind turbines, they don't POLLUTE the water, they don't POLLUTE the air..

  • @johnairlines8 Listen Liberal Moron. If wind turbines were so Beautiful, they would have them on every building in San Fransicko or Satan Cruz.and every beach in Northern Ca. and on Mt. Tam in Marin County. There are no Wind Turbines on Nancy Pelosi's Vineyards either. Why? Because only Poor Areas get them. Why? Because they destroy the Landscape. They drain the underwater aquifer to build their foundations. They never pay back the investors. Blinking red robot lights all night long.

  • @xwaystranger Oh, so you like landscape? Why don't you go to Yellowstone! They arent planning any wind farms there! The turbines in California do not destroy the landscape, if you talking about the mountains, go to Los Angeles, you can see them there... Oh, wait, there's skyscrapers blocking your view! Too bad for you!

  • @kokofan50 airplanes kill alot of birds too

  • @johnairlines8 i was talking about things that dont move but every true they kill lots of birds.

  • power they up and make a tornado xD

  • great video thumbs up

  • Belle

  • Love IT!!! California needs to invest more in Green Tech!!! Prop 23 is down in the polls, but the Yes on 23 campaign just got a new influx of hot, anonymous cash, so we'll need to fend them off in the home stretch to Election Day.

Hit me back if you'd like to talk Prop 23. We're coming out with a bunch of great No on Prop 23 videos soon!

    - prop23FAIL

  • @prop23FAIL california unfortunatly is not the best place to build because of no wind conditions. just look at all the ones not turning. thir are places where the wind never stops.

  • Enough power for thousand while destroying the view for millions???

  • @flexairz Millions minus one, because I believe wind turbines look magnificent in that landscape.

  • Comment removed

  • @flexair millions, you must be joking right. who would visit such Barron desolate train, i mean befor the windmill were built no one went there except to escape the police. LOL are you a fucking liberal asshole that's hates human progress because everyone enjoys it but you?LOL go Back to your house and burn it down. LOL

  • uglyness: 10/10

  • These wind farms you see everywhere are ridiculous. As if this country doesn't have enough wind of its own without wasting electricity making more of it by running these big fans.

  • @SweetLeftFoot1971 Your just an idiot just like the rest of the morons who don't know what there talking about!

  • @MsRipzilla get a sense of humour you prick!!!

  • nucular plants would be souch more productive, it was profitable 20 years ago we should go back to using it more now!!!!! if u disagree ur fucking retarded!!!!!!!!!

  • @andthefreakis just look who is the fucking idiot dude, you dont know the first thing about a wind turbine and here you are bashing them, grow up you fucking idiot

  • my husband and I have been out there 3 times working on those turbines...living in Palm Springs everytime...f'n awesome!!!

  • @FoxyPlasticGirl ANd your a fucking idiot also, so STFU if you don't know what the fuck your talking about.

  • These are out in parts of West Texas also. It's kind of surreal driving through these wind farm areas if you aren't used to them. They are interesting looking at night, too, with their top mast lights on.

  • @ 1:24 the odd one out

  • One nuclear power plant is more effective than all those ugly windmills.

  • If our gov'ts didn't wrongly subsidize oil in the first place, Wind / Solar technology would be 35 years ahead of what it is today - and incredibly cheaper.

Gov't intervention: Fucks almost everything up.

  • @luckyvet False, wind power has been used for centuries, see the Persian mIll, the simple fact of the matter is oil is far more efficient and creates far more energy. It acdtually takes more energy to produce a windmill than it can ever create. Now another little fact windmills also change wind currents in said area', so what is the effect on the eco system down the road?

Solar technology has its problem as well as it suffers from small things such as dirt covering its glass as well. cont

  • @luckyvet in the end nothing should be subsidized, let a program stand or fall on its own accord.

  • @luckyvet Yeah, now they're subsidizing wind power. I think that's pretty screwed up.

  • @luckyvet So, how are we going to Get elictricity in the Winter?

  • @Rufulz1 - 2 words: Nicola Tesla -)

  • @luckyvet you gotta remember noise pollution though :(

  • These are not windmills!! ( joking of course)

real deal breakdance windmills can be seen on my page. Please watch and the wind energy created from my bone thin legs.. lol

  • Quelle horreur et quelle stupidité !

  • they provide free energy, he says that they are maintained by local and state subbsidies, thats maintenance and upkeep. how cant you understand that ?

You pay for the machines to keep running, you get free energy ? its cheaper and cleaner, how can idiots on here say that its stupid simply because its costs are covered through subsidies ?

  • I agree,if you need government hand outs to make it,forget it,work at wallmart

  • 1:22 one of them is slacking....

  • @airheadzunited The people that own those Turbines shut them down when there is enough power but when people start demanding more, they turn them back on.

  • whats so crazy bout the windmills... i drive through there every day for work...

  • According to the statement in the video, you would need one windmill for every household served. Hmmm....

  • These things scare the shit out of me for some reason...

  • Windmeal?
