This scene reminds me of when my boss verbally abuses someone at the office, and the rest of wish there was a band playing so we wouldnt have to witness it
This scene is absolutely gripping, almost as gripping as Joe's (Eastwood's character, no idea is Eastwood's character the same in all 3 movies) torturing in Fistful of Dollars.
But at the same time I enjoy this scene because of how carefully Angel Eyes follows this operation. Man just drips horror... and I wouldn't like him any other way.
I'm french and currently living in London.American are really more easy to figure out than Brits,i don't know why they got this fucking accent. My grandfather's italian and i'm proud they did some good things in America like this movie.Definitely THE western
@StanBennet there were some small battles in the west, but they only ever involved a few thousand men, they were never as big as the battles that happened in Virginia, Georgia or Tennessee
@StanBennet Read about the Pacific and Trans-Mississippi theaters. States and territories were aligning Confederate and Union all across the nation, so the war didn't "go" one place. There were battles, troop movements, scrambles for territory everywhere. The armies of the Potomac and Northern Virginia were the largest, fought the most famous battles, and got the widest group of recruits, but there were certainly units out in the Southwestern deserts.
@vikasbhardwaj007 - Tuco drinks that whiskey down like a punjabi uncle lol. I'm surprised Tuco didnt yack up that salad soup dish after taking a few blows to the stomach.
@thetotalmagic i've been asking the same question since i was a kid watching this. I can only assume its soup because they slurp a lot and it most definitely has cabbage or some type of leafy veggie. It must be the same meal that's shown at he beginning when Angel Eyes visits the old bloke and his family.
@televisewhatyouwant Angel Eyes knows Tuco and Blondie from before the movie. They worked together or some such. Therefore Angel Eyes knows Tuco is impersonating Bill Carson and that Tuco or Blondie might know what Carson knows. Where the gold is.
@fishordie2 Bugles are calling from prairie to shore, "Sign up" and "Fall In" and march off to war. Blue grass and cotton, burnt and forgotten All hope seems gone so soldier march on to die. Bugles are calling from prairie to shore, "Sign up" and "Fall In" and march off to war. There in the distance a flag I can see, Scorched and in ribbons but whose can it be, How ends the story, whose is the glory Ask if we dare, our comrades out there who sleep.
5:25 is such a powerful part in this scene. the Confederate soldier can't play any longer knowing that one of his fellow soldiers is being tortured. ironically, Tuco is not a soldier but is still the cause of this soldier's defiance.
@brucedavis76 same here along with Blondie and the wounded soldier and Tuco and his brother Pablo (as bad of a person has he is I can't help but pity Tuco in this movie).
@TreyRoque That's a classic isnt it? A friend and I will say that to each other if someone is complaining about having a bad day or something.... "more feeling"
At 3:50 Tuco vomits. He consumed a lot of thick soup before the beating. So, when Tuco gets smashed in the gut, he reacts by opening his mouth, crying, "Ahh!" After that, Wallace dodges Tuco's hurl by slapping him off the table. The vomit in Tuco's mouth creates the "rolf" sound. A brutal but brilliant scene.
