some nice playing here.. haha i thought there was some really cheesy soft lighting before i saw someone was recording it from their tv with a camcorder! LOL
The View? What up with that? I mean I love WH and his mitey tastey choice of jam.
The View? Have to question that action. Sorry, my Ol' Lady was jammin' morning side. But she knows not what she hears. She did have enough sense to call me and let me know you were playing that funky morning show. Man, please at least you coulda done Regis!?!
What's done is done. Still love me some Gov't Mule, Allman Bro's.
manypaths you sound like such a head. Can you please show me the way...i'll take my own. I never had the chance to see Jerry play, but i'm a Deadhead at heart. Go ahead, call me a custie for supporting the Dead, but it shows that you're not a true fan. Maybe you act like it because it makes you look cool. There's nothing worse than someone at a show who is out of place. Is that you? I can't wait for this summer..i'll be the one with the GD shirt dancin my ass off!!...
I used to have a tape (yes, a cassette) of the Grateful Dead with Bob Weir singing lead on this. So, yes it is "a Jerry tune", but ... Where I get antsy is when Phil does Stella Blue, the Jerry song of all Jerry songs!
dude, there are MANY PATHs and we all cant be so cool to travel your wise path of knowing good from bad. These guys are playing music for living breathing people TODAY. your path is in the past. I saw Jerry 180 times, and while my love will never fade away, i am here now. I am glad young kids still get into this music, and I am very grateful THE BOYS as we call THEM (not just him), keep the music from ever stopping. LONG LIVE THE DEAD!!! and bless you Bob Phil Mickey Billy Warren & Jeff!
Look, I saw hundreds of shows, and if I am correct, Phil and Bobby played in EVERY show the Dead ever played, we're not talking about the Jerry Garcia Band here. Jerry only "wrote" one song anyway (CreamPuff War)--don't get me wrong I love Jer bear, but Bobby and the boys have more than every right to play
bobby missed a couple in the 70's if im not mistakeing for bieng sick or family or something idk for sure but ive heard that and i agree 100% with that but jerry did help write lots of the songs
What the fuck man...they may be old, but why be so disrespectful? Bobby and Phil, as well as the rest of the band, are heroes to many people...including myself. This sounds great, maybe a little off, but they are gonna bring it this summer tour. See you all there!!!
i miss you jerry he still rockin it up in the sky teachin his angel buddies how to jam ha ha

Notice they eliminated the "Wife in Chino" verse? Playing to a mostly female crowd.

You can see the television set near the end. As in camera taking a video of the show on a television.

who are the greatful dead I never heard of them?... is this a new bluegrass band?
cavemandan 2 years ago
Not bad
Remember, the GD were almost always a little off. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen them do a TV appearance that didn't have some little fuck-up.
The performances from playboy at night through SNL and Letterman are all problematic.
Give these guys a fucking break. Besides FOTD is a GD song not just a Jerry song. Would you criticize Hunter for singing it?

when did "To Terrapin" become "terrain"?
bobhuber 2 years ago
you have to remember this is not the Grateful Dead anymore... keep that in mind if you are going to the shows and you will have a good time.
that being said, how many people in the audience will actually keep their free copy of Hartford '77 ? lol

And that is what is so bad about what these guys are doing. The kids think this is good stuff.
What a horrible way to remember the work of a great musician.

You really think that is good?
Again, it's a shame to se what has happened to that great body of work. Why cover a Garcia Song?
Pathetic cash grab by the backup band.

I wish Whoopi wouldn't have called them The Grateful Dead there at the end. These three (and I'm a big fan) are NOT the Grateful Dead.
