Gerrard is not even the best player in the liverpool squad. A few years ago there was a debate as to who was better, Gerrard or Lampard? The resounding answer is Lampard. Right now Gerrard's level of play does not merit a starting spot for England. Gerrard is not among the worlds best mid fielders. He is washed up, the best years of his careers have already passed. Players like Barry and Milner deserve the starting spot more than Gerrard.
