At one point before the spirit bomb it said that Frieza's PL was 70,000,00. The spirit bomb was only 5,000,000. Frieza should have been able to just smack that out of the way no problem. Why was he unable to? Someone please explain. Thanks.

Goku base: 300,000 times 10 is 3,000,000. times 20 is 6,000,000. times 50 is 15,000,000. 3,000,000 times 10 is 30,000,000. times 20 is 60,000,000. and 50 is 150,000,000.
never really believed the daisenshuuz power levels of over 100,000,000 because if you look at gokus level it could be either 300,000 or 3,000,000 million at base during his fight with frieza. both base levels can be multiplied by 10 and 20 to get the said levels that are disputed over.

Goku is 3,000,000 after kio ken x10 its 30 million then kio ken x20 hes at 60 million when he goes ssj its 150 million because ssj is 50x your power level

The Saiyan's Zenkai ability only activates whenever they recover from fatal or nearly-fatal inuries. After Vegeta recovered with the Senzu Bean Goku gave him, he didn't recieve any significant damage before his battle with 1st form Frieza.
@Niibakun You're right, it doesn't. But what other reason is there for vegeta's large power increase. He was showing a lot of fatigue after his brief fight with ginyu and jeice. Perhaps a saiyan's zenkai ability activates after energy loss? I dont know any other reason why vegeta would have gathered enough energy to be able to stand up to frieza.
Though I would be inclined to believe a certain theory I heard long ago, about how after a certain number of consecutive Zenkais in a short time, the multplier becomes much bigger. It would made sense, since Vegeta had 2 "normal" Zenkais IN A ROW (of about 6,000 each) before the 3rd one skyrocketed his power for about 500,000.
Though that still doesn't explain how Goku (whos last Zenkai was in the hospital) went from 90,000 to 3,000,000 in one Zenkai.

@Niibakun I think Akira Toriyama didn't think it through and just made Vegeta stronger lol, by making Frieza (he said his level was 530,000) so strong he had set a boundary for himself. The character's had to be a certain level to hold out before Goku showed up so he just made them stronger. Gohan and Krillin survived Frieza's attacks and yet their power levels after having their energy unlocked were less than 20,000. Gohan got one zenkai after fighting Recoome and that was it.

Yeah, the official Daizenshuu states Goku's PL here was of 3,000,000.
Which automatically means he had a 30,000,000 with the KaiokenX10 and 60,000,000 for those briefs moments he used the KaiokenX20.
Frieza at 50% has exactly 60,000,000, which is why that one KaiokenX20 Kamehameha actually gave him trouble. Also stated in the Daiz is how (obviously) Frieza's 100% (when he bulks up) is 120,000,000. And when Goku turns into a Super Saiyan he goes all the way up to 150,000,000.

@sniperae 180,000 was only at kaioken 2x and back then goku's max power was at 90.000 , after recovery his basic power increased up to 1,000,000 and he was using his skills only (not kaioken) to jump up at 3,000,000 ( goku's max power at that time) kaioken it's technique that provides to go further beyond his limits for a short time but it cost great deal of energy
u see guys that all make sense , when goku fought first time with vegeta his max power was 9000 he was using kaioken to increase his power beyond his max limit, when he trained under 100x gravity his max power increased 10 times up to 90,000
To be fair, Toriyama didn't expect to last this long and when you have something as successful as DragonBall Z ther eis going to be some wall bangers. How can tin cans own SSJ? How can a superclone be stronger than SSJ? How can a pink blob be stronger than SSJ? When you owned the 'strongest' being in the universe, there is only so much you can do with the plot but I thank toriyama for keeping the threats plausible at least.
SSJ Goku is at about 11 mil upon transforming, when he powers up he's at 15mil. Frieza is at 12 mil at 100% power and he lied about that whole 1% of power thing because SSJ is officially a x50 power up from base (when goku powered up). Freiza will have technically been twice as strong as SSJ goku if he really was using 1% of his power.
Goku is at 300k (base), 3mil (Kaio ken x10) and 6mil (Kaio ken x20).
Freiza is most likely lowered his power level to about 2.5% when Goku showed up.

At one point before the spirit bomb it said that Frieza's PL was 70,000,00. The spirit bomb was only 5,000,000. Frieza should have been able to just smack that out of the way no problem. Why was he unable to? Someone please explain. Thanks.

@cpaterson0988 Frieza's 50% (the one he uses for most of the battle before Goku goes SSJ) is 60,000,000, not 70,000,000. And I don't know who told you the Spirit Bomb had a "power level" of 5,000,000. That isn't stated anywhere. Not the manga, not the series, not the Daizenshuu.

Goku base: 300,000 times 10 is 3,000,000. times 20 is 6,000,000. times 50 is 15,000,000. 3,000,000 times 10 is 30,000,000. times 20 is 60,000,000. and 50 is 150,000,000.

never really believed the daisenshuuz power levels of over 100,000,000 because if you look at gokus level it could be either 300,000 or 3,000,000 million at base during his fight with frieza. both base levels can be multiplied by 10 and 20 to get the said levels that are disputed over.

@denzell780 Again. That was filler. It's completely non-canon. The fact that Gohan's hair went Pretend Super Saiyan before he whomped up on Freeza should be proof of that. And don't forget: The dragon from Earth (which revived all of Freeza's victims... y'know... not Mr. Popo) cannot revive more than once. It could not have revived Goku, since he's died already. That filler arc was stupid. Also, never after everyone left did Goku actually "power up".

I mean, he (along with Yamcha, Tien, etc) only trained with Kaio for about 1-2 months. Goku trained with him for 6 months, and his power was of 8,000. So how does Piccolo get more than 3 times that power after having less than half of the training?
I'd put Piccolo's PL on 6,000 TOPS when he arrived on Namek. And only because he already had 3,500 against Nappa.

After eating Goku's Senzu Bean: Unknown, but he managed to fight evenly with Frieza's 1st form...which has an OFFICIAL power-level of 530,000! WTF? (But its true!!)
After being healed by Dende: Unknown, but higher than Piccolo who had just pummeled Frieza's 2nd form!

Toriyama/The Daiz states that Frieza's 1st form has a power-level of 530,000. And Vegeta didn't have any more powerups between fighting Jeice and fighting Frieza.

@DaTimeMeddler But that still doesn't explain it. The Saiyans's ability doesn't activate whenever they take a nap after a "regular" battle. If it was like that, then the majority of them would've had HUGE powerlevels before Frieza destroyed them.
The Saiyan's Zenkai ability only activates whenever they recover from fatal or nearly-fatal inuries. After Vegeta recovered with the Senzu Bean Goku gave him, he didn't recieve any significant damage before his battle with 1st form Frieza.

@Niibakun You're right, it doesn't. But what other reason is there for vegeta's large power increase. He was showing a lot of fatigue after his brief fight with ginyu and jeice. Perhaps a saiyan's zenkai ability activates after energy loss? I dont know any other reason why vegeta would have gathered enough energy to be able to stand up to frieza.

Though I would be inclined to believe a certain theory I heard long ago, about how after a certain number of consecutive Zenkais in a short time, the multplier becomes much bigger. It would made sense, since Vegeta had 2 "normal" Zenkais IN A ROW (of about 6,000 each) before the 3rd one skyrocketed his power for about 500,000.
Though that still doesn't explain how Goku (whos last Zenkai was in the hospital) went from 90,000 to 3,000,000 in one Zenkai.

@Niibakun I think Akira Toriyama didn't think it through and just made Vegeta stronger lol, by making Frieza (he said his level was 530,000) so strong he had set a boundary for himself. The character's had to be a certain level to hold out before Goku showed up so he just made them stronger. Gohan and Krillin survived Frieza's attacks and yet their power levels after having their energy unlocked were less than 20,000. Gohan got one zenkai after fighting Recoome and that was it.

You're saying Goku's power level was only 300,000 but that's lower than Vegeta was when he fought first form frieza (500,000) and I'm pretty sure Goku was stronger. Plus Goku would've had a red aura at least sometimes if he was using Kaio Ken.

Yeah, the official Daizenshuu states Goku's PL here was of 3,000,000.
Which automatically means he had a 30,000,000 with the KaiokenX10 and 60,000,000 for those briefs moments he used the KaiokenX20.
Frieza at 50% has exactly 60,000,000, which is why that one KaiokenX20 Kamehameha actually gave him trouble. Also stated in the Daiz is how (obviously) Frieza's 100% (when he bulks up) is 120,000,000. And when Goku turns into a Super Saiyan he goes all the way up to 150,000,000.

@sniperae 180,000 was only at kaioken 2x and back then goku's max power was at 90.000 , after recovery his basic power increased up to 1,000,000 and he was using his skills only (not kaioken) to jump up at 3,000,000 ( goku's max power at that time) kaioken it's technique that provides to go further beyond his limits for a short time but it cost great deal of energy

To be fair, Toriyama didn't expect to last this long and when you have something as successful as DragonBall Z ther eis going to be some wall bangers. How can tin cans own SSJ? How can a superclone be stronger than SSJ? How can a pink blob be stronger than SSJ? When you owned the 'strongest' being in the universe, there is only so much you can do with the plot but I thank toriyama for keeping the threats plausible at least.

SSJ Goku is at about 11 mil upon transforming, when he powers up he's at 15mil. Frieza is at 12 mil at 100% power and he lied about that whole 1% of power thing because SSJ is officially a x50 power up from base (when goku powered up). Freiza will have technically been twice as strong as SSJ goku if he really was using 1% of his power.
Goku is at 300k (base), 3mil (Kaio ken x10) and 6mil (Kaio ken x20).
Freiza is most likely lowered his power level to about 2.5% when Goku showed up.

These power levels are inaccurate. And so are yours. SSJ Goku is actually 150,000,000. 300,000 couldn't even beat the first form of frieza dope!
