This Indian initiative is worth replicating in areas with huge water supplies in Africa yet with uneven access to proteins. Ducks are fast breeders naturally and can be engineered to produce even more. Duck farming can also be used alongside village poultry to diversify the incomes of poor villagers and better their access to proteins thereby impacting positively on their health and wellbeing.
