  • Would you know by any chance if this exact fish would eat a cleaner shrimp when in the same tank?

  • JEOLOSY

  • They do it every once in a while to make sure their skin dosent tighten up so they can keep it loose. In case they have to puff up for protection at some point they dont want their skin to tear.

  • HOP ON THE BACK AND CLEAN? Is your puffer a male or female? Also a hint to other- puffers are interested in the aquarium so it may be that their are plenty of distractions for him so maybe that is why?

  • you really got a beautiful tank!! And a very cool fish

  • This is the best video on youtube by far

  • Sweet! I can never get mine to puff up lol Check out my puffer :)

  • yo i got mine in a 55 and he is doing fine just make sure that there is good room to swim and u should be fine :)

  • @fishmaster1231 are you fucking retarded, 55 gallons is not nearly enough room for a puffer they need minimum 100 they grow to a foot long...

  • Nice music, it totally fits the video :)

  • Hey wat is the smallest the tank can be for them cuz i wanna get a porcupine fish but i hav a small tank:/, please help

  • Hey! Do you know the cause of them puffing? my little valentini puffer puffed once and i dont know why =D it was cool tho..

  • What did you do to piss him off? Not good!

  • NOTHING... I just find him like that in the tank. He does this once in a blue moon. Not often though

  • hey how bad is a puffer fish sting, and do u get very sick when u get stung???

  • would not know as I never got stung by a porcupine puffer. Research it online their should be something on this topic.. Hope that helps

  • @Supercowhawkins puffers dont sting the poison is in a few of its organs the only thing they can do to you is bite even then nonpoison is involved hop i helped!

  • @Supercowhawkins they dont sting

  • thanks. im more confident about getting it now. lol!

  • im trying to get a puffer but the store keeps telling me they will eat all my fish. im hoping its depends on its personality

  • I have had my puffer for a long while now and he doesnt eat my fish and my coral I also have a linkia star fish and a cleaner shrimp in with him and they are fine he even allows the cleaner shrimp to hop on his back and clean him. If you keep him well fed their shouldnt be a problem. Just dont over feed cause your Nitrates will go off the roof. But I think it does depend as well on each of their personalities. Mine is very calm.

  • @eblocker1016 I got a pufferfish and it ate 2 of my fish X_X

  • @eblocker1016 that is true it does mine is super peaceful he is great and doesnt bother any other fish :)

  • @eblocker1016 I have one and he is peaceable- but I wouldn't keep him with smaller fishes- my fish has a formidable set of jaws, I am sure he could eat a small fish. I have seen it eat a 2-3 inch long cocktail shrimp with little problem, and the puffer is only 4 inches long.

  • He is a good boy, doesnt eat or touch anything

I even have a cleaner shrimp and he goes to him to get cleaned, its funny to watch cause the shrimp will ride on his back while cleaning him.

  • Cool vid i love these fish.I did have mine in a reef system but he liked the taste of every thing so he now lives in a fish only system.
