  • ajaj thiz gameplay is a shit¡¡...you are so fucking bad¡¡

  • cormando, that not how you get cover 0:30

  • hosta la bye bye

  • @Phenomate Cormano for the win

  • i wonder when someone will invent a real life gun that fires slow bullets. r-type in particular used slow moving bullets. they always catch you out sooner or later.

  • Wow I finally found out what that arcade game was from so long ago, I beat it like 11 years ago and never knew what it was, all I could remember was defeating the boss and seeing that rose fly through the air

  • Billy looks like Beavis in the intro.

  • 8:10 :(

  • Man, don't play with emulator autofire. It serves here as a cheat. Power up is what gives proper autofire. Also how about finishing it with 1 normal credit?

  • 6:53 HEADSHOT!

  • Konami makes a good sprite animation on the arcade intro. just to say my fave character, I love Billy

  • Sir Richard Rose is FPS Doug

I CAN DANCE ALL DAY I CAN DANCE ALL DAY!

    BOOM HEADSHOT!

  • did anybody notice that the gou has 210 lives?

  • I just LOLed at him having 215 lifes XDDDD

  • Remember the movie Young Guns? heh

  • this game kicks ass. to me, its like a western contra =P not shure why?

  • [i] Cormano rules!

  • @markhez2 yep

  • @markhez2 i use the shot of Cormano from the introduction as my Avatar on steam :D

  • I called Steve's horse Pinky, Billy horse Violet, Bob's horse Sandy and Cormano's horse Firedash.

  • Lol it would be great if this game got a remade.

  • I agree, not many good western games, not sure why.

  • Cormano was the one with personality there

  • I remember playing this with my Bro when I was younger. This, Super Mario World, TMNT: Turtles in Time, and TMNT: Tournament Fighters.

    Good times!

  • turtles and this game is my fav bro

  • this game was a classic

  • Sunset Riders is a great, great game. My bro and I are currently attempting to buy a 4 player arcade game for $300. The guy wants us to buy it for $450.

  • I remember playing this one so much back in the arcade, that and Willow.

I'm sure that is you show this game to the ten-year-old kids who play Halo and similar nowadays their first complaint will be about the lack of reloading.

These titles have a charm that will never be replicated.

  • CORMANO!

  • I loved this game way back then. Great gameplay, level design, music, sound effects. So many quotes too. I think when I die, I'll ask to be "buried with my money".

  • Which always sounded like "Marry me with my money"

  • @bcgabriot I was about to say the same thing XD

  • A great game for it's time!

Don't get me wrong, the games of today are AWESOME, but it's nice to revisit the past every now and then!

  • mannnn. i was like 4 or 5 when i had this game. this mario kart. power rangers. TMNT turtles in time. thats all a kid needed. and i swear i could never beat that last boss back in the day. hated that douche. brings back the good ol days.

  • The best I got in Arcade with one credit was the indian boss in second ride. He is tough as hell.

I always wondered a sequel of this great game. Hope to see it one day.

  • despite what players say, there are good reasons to play as either the pistol characters(Billy and Steve)

or the rifle/shotgun players (Bob and Cormano).

the pistol players may not have wide spreading shots like the rifle players, but their shots do more damage.

  • if u played like this on the arcade, u surely must have left like a million dollars in coins. u got hit like too many times

  • this game is the shit!!! I remember playing it all the time when I was a Kid on Super Nintendo. Good Times back then. :)

  • paco loco comin fo yo ass

  • yeah and so what?

  • god I love that old school anime look to them. FAR better than any of that naruto etc shit nowadays

  • i used to love this game!

Too bad neither of the console versions lived up to the original version.

...did anyone else notice the weird colored horses?

  • What different does it make on the horses?? There are many horses with different colors.

    DUH!!

  • me and my bro would play this ALL the time. i would be billy and he would be cormano

  • Wow, I never played the arcade version, but it looks like it's alot better than the super nintendo version.

  • I like how a wooden fence explodes like a bomb after being shot down with the gatling gun. O_o

  • they would put this game on xbox live

  • i always used cormano

  • excellent work!! man i loved this game

  • Wow man I never knew the arcade version was alot better than the SNES version, sweet!

  • They always are.

  • Yes! I had too the SNES versions. This has a lot of new thigs, for example the gatling gun at 05:05...

  • Yeah that would've been awesome if that was in the SNES version!

  • steve and i ¡¡we made history¡¡¡aaahh what a great game¡¡¡

  • how did u got 212 lives???

  • How come no one ever uses Cormano in these vids?

  • The Gatling gun was invented at the time! And I think there's one in "Young Guns" or "Young Guns 2"...

  • Since when are there gatling guns in westerns?

  • nvm my bad

  • who made this version?

  • me in heap big trouble!!

i was so happy the day i finally beat sunset riders. great video, but u must have used some sort of emu to get 200+ lives lowell?

  • mame

  • KONAMI is always the best XD

  • The first time I ever saw a British man (let alone an British aristocrat) in a Western was Sir Richard Rose in the Sunset Riders game.

  • Wow... I've never seen a pink horse before. Well, you know hes gay.

Good run, but you beat Sir Richard the hard way! xD

  • He did do it the hard way...but on easy...(richard rose on hard takes atleast 1400 shots to get his bpa off then another 600 to kill him...2000 shots...paco loco himself sucks up about 900 shots

  • yes ive spent far too much time on this game

  • hmm 2 more ways to tell RR is only firing 1 bullet at a time...dosent happen on hard minimum 2 at once and he has far more help with him on hard

  • Remember wasting so many quarted on that game, but the final boss was cake, Just had to hop up on the little platform on the right and crouch, he'd hop up and shoot at you twice and spend another 10 minutes rolling around on the ground for some reason. but loved the platforming, Remembered how the part where you had to rn atop the bulls.

  • man i loved this game, the big racist dude on a horse was the best boss. this is the best side scrolling game ever, it even beats Turtles II

  • Excellent work, ArcadeGamesFreak, but I have two questions about the game footage:

    1) How on earth did you get a stockpile of 200+ lives in preperation of the final two stages?

    2) Why does the voice of Sir Richard Rose sound like Mr. Herriman from "Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends"?

  • 1) Cheats, probably.

    2) He's British.

  • I remember the end boss, it was crazy I must have died a thousand times

  • Shot him like 50 times, all in the bulletproof vest. What are the odds lol

Great game, never beat it in the arcade, never had the money

  • This is awesome! It brings back memories of when I first played it in France aged 8!!

  • Wow what in the world?? I didn't know the arcade version was THIS different from the SNES one. Gatling guns, blowing up gates, and people actually burning up and flying away from dynamites?? That's NUTS!

  • Much like other arcade to console ports, they had to remove a lot of things to fit inside the cartridge. Also, I guess nintendo got rid of the people burning since its so graphic.

  • ooh.man..thi sreminds me my childhood..but i didnt have other players only Cormano and BIlly...

so great game...i wana play again

  • damn youre good way 2 keep it old school man! best stuff ever! (altho i prefer SNES vers)

  • Yeah, this was when Konami was just absolutely going NUTS with beat em ups and side scrollers in the late 80s and early 90s.

  • me too

i played the SFC/SNES version to death

    great conversion

  • I played the SNES version. Ahh, memories. :)

  • ahhhh.... sunset riders rules. i importet that game for snes/superfamicom, absolutely great!

  • can you upload the ending to crime fighters? keep it going, man!

  • excellent work!! way to go!!! keep it up!!!
