anybody ever wonder why is there an entrance and exit northbound exit 83 but only an entrance on the southbound side? this pisses me off its not fair why do i have to get off at exit 88 because of this support our needs!
I also have a question about Route 9 and the GSP together, I know Route 9/GSP are together in Toms River because of Route 166 and down by Somers Point, but why are they together by exit 50 in New Gretna down to exit 48?

@tpir1972 Route 122 is a former alignment of US 22 in the Philipsburg area...
Route 184 is an east-west route for all of its (albeit short) length, so therefore it is signed as "east-west". As i've said in a previous post, since route 440 is a predominantly north-south route with the exception of the short Middlesex County section, then all of 440 is signed as "north-south", including the short Middlesex County section...
I know Route 166 is old Route 9, you notice alot of US roads are moved to make state roads, US Route 9 became 1266, 206 became 183 in Netcong Route 440 became 184 in Hopelawn, Route 22 became 173, BR Route 1/9 became Route 139, why did all these happen in NJ, and just keep them, a lot of traffic?
@tpir1972 in each of these cases, a highway bypass of the original alignment was built, resulting in the designation shifting to the new alignment and being replaced by a different route number (as is true with today's 440, 206, and 139). what is now i-78 in western NJ was planned as a relocated route 22 and the section designated as 78/22 was among the first sections built, prior to the road being renamed i-78, which explains why theres a route 173.

But if Route 184 up in Perth Amboy parallels Route 440, why is THAT E-W and not N-S, I think CR 501 is N-S, too, is it not?
