  • Did he get abused as kid or something?

  • this is one of the best movies ive seen ever and one of my personal favorites and ive watched alot of films, love this scene

  • I just want to say that I was living in the USA for a number of years but eventually it all got to me, I had a really bad child hood. I went back to England and saw therapist for 12 weeks, what this scene encapsulates is the 12 weeks of work that i did with the therapist. Every session was emotionally draining, I never cried so much in my life.

My last day of therapy was on friday, on sunday I flew out back to the USA, and I havent looked back.

  • LOLOLL I This part is so funny

  • Matt Damon's best acting.

  • Stewie..Stewie..It's not your fault.

  • Everytime I see this I cry

  • @jasonroxorz wat?

  • @jasonroxorz Lol. Well maybe you should watch the whole film and you'll see what Will's problem is.

  • The italian version is 3000 times better!! Much more expressive than this.

  • Such a great movie!

  • I love this film, if Ben Affleck stuck to writing and directing he might be known as quite an important figure in modern film but he had to go and act in Pearl Harbour and Gigli. What a pair of awful films. Also, I do this to my friends all the time (currently to someone on Facebook chat) and they have no idea what I'm on about or think I'm copying Family Guy because they're idiots and haven't seen this. I'll never tell them where it's from.

  • I honestly wish I could be in Sean's place and just give Will a big hug.

  • as a girl with an attachment disorder I rarely show deep emotions, but this scene really got me..

  • @zoltar000 me too... i joke about shedding a tear very often... im a 20 year old ego maniacal douche... and i teared up a little

  • @plootiyy I'm sure you're not a douche :) but like it's sooo hard for people like u then to deal with emotional stuff, I wish it could be different

  • "It's your fault, it's your fault, it's your fault, it's your fault, it's your fault, it's your fault, it's your fault, it's your fault, it's your fault, it's your fault"

    *my father*

  • i break down when I see this scene because I'm almost the same way. I don't let many people into my circle and have a negative personality to push people away. So this movie always strikes a chord with me when I watch it.

  • one of the best movies ever made

  • Classic.....and yea family guy mocked it but still this movie was the shit.

  • 10 times!!!

  • So is it his fault or not?

  • I do this on xbox to piss people off :P

  • One of the best scenes from any movie of all time. Heartbreakingly brilliant.

  • the best scene of the in my opinion.happy new year everybody!

  • like if you think matt was going to smile in 1:04

  • don't fuck with me unless you have a condom LOL

  • Like this if family guy didn't bring you here......

  • @jojospider1 actually, family guy brought me here. LOL

  • collegehumor brought me here XD

  • That awkward moment when you have a huge breakthrough and realize it wasn't your fault all along.

  • its your own damn vault!

  • @ub3rtroll123 LOL, the troll is trolling hard

  • One of the best scenes in any film.

  • I like the bit when he tells him it's not his fault.

  • My friend and I use to repeat this to people in high school. We made two people tear up. It was hilarious then, but now I guess it was kind of evil.

  • The reason why this gets me its like how many GUYS do u see cryin that's what makes me cry

  • When he crys its all over for me cuz then I start cryin

  • I watch this video at least once a week at work to realize that it in fact "Is not my fault".

  • WTF ...........

  • i really like watching clips from this movie, robbin williams used him as his therapist too,.....and its not just the few of people that can afford or have the opportunity to go to councilling. An environment where one feels safe to speak, a person whom they feel they have common ground with, where barriers are broken, in life we all get beaten down, emotionally and physically and mentally by peers, teachers, friends, co-workers. Only the strong shall survive. Happiness comes from freedom of it

  • This is one of those scenes that would never work in real life! I've been to therapy, and if a therapist did this. I'd be like, "dude, what the fuck are you doing...hey! Why are you getting close to me....stop trying to look deeply into my eyes...hey! Personal space! Don't rub my hair, you butt bandido! I warned you!" WAP! THUD! The therapist hits the floor.

  • @bastardluv wow your cool

  • @bastardluv are you will hunting? or anything like his character? or have the same bond with your therapist? if any of these answers were no, then stfu

  • I am a premature ejaculator... it's not my fault!

  • One of my favorite parts of this movie... but on a different note, at 1:04, Williams reacted lightning-quick when Matt hit him. O_o

  • It was his fault.

  • I was super wasted and my friends dad did this to me fucker...

  • he doesn't think he deserves the intellectual advantage he has in life because he has always believed that he is a bad person and that his horrible childhood was his fault. This is why he does not want to pursue anything in life and works as a cleaner. Robin Williams freed him from this guilt. He does not get too involved with the women because he is too perfect to her 'right now', as Robin William smartly points out in the movie. No longer feeling guilty or ashamed of his past he wants heragain

  • sorry but whats not his fault i don't get the scene?

  • @virginiatechfanx

It wasn't his fault that Affleck would never do serious movies again.

  • This movie shouldve won instead of titanic

  • @nailbunny2020

ALL other 4 nominees were far more worthy of the Best Picture Oscar than Crap-tanic!!

  • Good physicians are hard to find, especially nowadays when the allopaths have their hearts and their empathy surgically removed somewhere in the first year of med school. A brilliant scene.

  • I'm not going to lie, I was in different tragic events and having someone tell you it's not your fault after years of blaming yourself is a huge sigh of relieve

  • @XxMacexX04

Imagine had Robin said "Will, this stuff... all of it...I've looked at it and it's all your fault. You did it, all of it, weep you faggot"

  • Comment removed

  • @BigDTinyE Haha Weep you fucking pussy! I'm going to get stone faced drunk and beat you like a little BITCH! You're the goddamn reason my wife got cancer you FUCK!!!!!!!!

  • 4 words that raped Will Hunting's mind

  • he already realised that was not his fault but he needed someone like a father who can tell him that explicitly. It's about life, a society that creates victims but others have to take the blame. so looks a capitalist (unbalanced) society.

  • this is what you say when someone picks on you

  • MATT DAMON! (team america)

  • This is excellent.

To break through his rusted iron door.

  • i know that feel bro

  • I watch this clip whenever I feel like laughing and crying at the same time.

  • One of the saddest scenes in movie history, and so true. I know someone who was abused and this movie reminds me so much of him. Abuse can really affect people so much, and leads them to believe it's their fault. There is no excuse for abuse.

  • @Gabi13Meep So true. But one thing people forget is that there's so many different degrees and kinds of abuse. Yes, some are much worse than others, and much more damaging. Nevertheless, all degrees and all kinds have one basic thing in common: they make a person feel badly about themselves. Because of this, all kinds and all degrees damage a person and make them feel like there's something wrong with or bad about themselves.

  • @stitchesful There are other kinds of abuse that people endure which does not leave them feeling bad about themselves, but leaves them feeling trapped and unwilling to engage in society because it is pointless to do so, in that their life is already in ruin and engaging will not free them from the abuse and further ruin.

  • @RobertMOdell You may be right, but I personally don't agree. I feel that any kind and/or form of abuse will cause a person to feel badly about themselves to a certain degree.

  • @RobertMOdell I guess the point I was trying to make in my original comment is that someone doesn't have to be severely beaten to believe that they're no good and that there's something wrong with them. It doesn't have to be so severe and extreme to make a person feel that way. I was verbally abused by many in my peer group and I still wonder what's wrong with me for that to have happened.

  • @stitchesful I see. You are definitely right about that. My point is, and it is sort of a complaint as well, so many of these kind of videos assume the abuse is over with or can be stopped. Say that to the millions of people who lived in Russia under Stalin who were depressed and unwilling to engage in society because of what they were enduring. Many around the world and even in the USA today are suffering for the same reason.

  • Anyone else think he's apologizing to Sean for disrespecting his wife now that he's lost the girl of his dreams?

  • Good acting, gay hair.

  • @TheSageofWestRiding the 90's bro :-)

  • This doesnt work in real life.

  • @arr5612 Why?

  • If you take credit for all the good that happens to you in your life, then you take credit for the bad.

    YES, IT IS YOUR FAULT

  • @metropool

But in Will Hunting's case, he was abused by his father. So no, it's not his fault..

  • My counsellor did something like this today, we were doing EFT And I was laughing at first...then eventually started crying...

  • I'm crying right now =(

  • How beautiful and how miraculous. He's finally getting rid of the pain and taking a huge step to healing. If only everybody else who has also been damaged and made unhealthy would also do this. Maybe it's getting to the point in our world where more people will be able to . I hope so.

  • having been his own emotional support and encouragement for most of the loving needs for so long...it was very scary to find out someone could see his problem.

  • he was afraid to depend on someone else...even though he was very desperate for the love of parents inside for all his life...

  • wow one of the best realistic crying scene ever, I still think he was really emotional....

  • hey,hey stewie its not your fault.

  • 1:30 Robin Williams is smiling like, you got owned

  • He cries funny

  • When played out of context, I think it's pretty funny

  • At that moment he realized he took it upon himself all these years what his family didn't do right, and has learned to forgive himself when Robbin Williams told him it wasn't his fault. That was the father figure he needed but was absent.

  • @gracehuang101 Outstandingly said...very true!!!

  • matt damon plays an ISTJ (myers briggs).all they want is to be accepted n be a part of something.loyalty. but if the childhood is all hate, never accepted=they become self destructive.frank tj mackey (tom cruise) in magnolia was also ISTJ. ISTJ=Basic Fear: Of being without support and guidance

Basic Desire: To have security and support

    I am an ISTJ also

  • stewie its not your fault!

  • It is his fault.

  • I came here because of family guy. thumbs up for anyone else who has.

  • Damn I need a wake up like this to get over my divorce.

  • why is he hysterically crying?

  • @FacultyBob you didnt see the movie, did you?

  • It's like this scene was made for me.

  • Thumbs up if you've seen the Family Guy cover of this.

  • Robin Williams has some serious influence over one's mind. And a very strong personality.

  • I liked the Part when he said, " I know"

  • its 1 person's fault

  • This movie always cheers me up! :)

  • Because of what happened earlier this week, this should be temporarily re-titled as "Sean Maguire helps a disappointed Canucks fan"

  • Never saw this film...whats not his fault?

  • @ANGRYMAPLE everything that went wrong in his life.

  • @ANGRYMAPLE The abuse he endured as a child. It's freaking sad. Basically he's such a smart kid, cracking a math code not even a professor knew. He has such this tragic past though and he's learned all of his life to shut off from everyone. You should watch it by the way, great movie.

  • @bookcreator Thanks, I finally get that Step Brothers joke.

  • best movie and best scene eveeeeeeeeeeer ,matt damon is the best ;-))

  • LOL... In context, during the movie, this is a great scene, but... omg, away from the context this is just hilarious!!! I can't stop laughing!

  • Like if you saw that Family Guy episode before watching this movie.

  • Matt Damon confronts his obsession with My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

  • ohmygod stop im bawling :''''''''''(

  • saddest movies ever!! =( ugh. no matter how many times I watch it, I always cry my eyes out. =(

  • i do thios all the time to my friends to see if they will cry

  • MAAAAAAAAT DAAAAAAAMON.

  • thx for the upload great quality

  • Aw, such a sad scene. So heartwrenching. Matt Damon is such a good actor.

  • 0:15

    it's not your fault negroes

  • let the healing begin im pumped

  • made me cry too.. my things are also a little fckd up right now.

  • What was in the packet? Lol

  • Awsome scene!!.....and you just helped me with a presentation i have to do for psych.sooo Thank you!!!

  • I liked the part when he said "it's not your fault"

  • @CrackerJackinmystyle you win, that was funny. (Assuming you were trying to be funny)

  • @tonymarie1984 No, having a problem is NOT hilarious. But I felt a little light hearted humour amongst the many sad posts people have left, was worth acknowledging. Bearing in mind I uploaded this clip for its poignant message to begin with, as well as making the initial comment of - “more people need to realise this about themselves in so many different situations where they've been made to believe it is their fault” .... I’m comfortable with having a little perspective and balance here.

  • @timeandmusic thanks for the clip and yay to perspective. I keep watching it thinking I might find some breakthru myself - you reckon it's not my fault I can't cry? Oh well, ya hafta laugh at our silly human psyches dontcha.

  • @junglejam1 your welcome. This world lacks decent perspective. People freakin' and stressin' over minor shit that in the scheme of things, have no relevance. I mean for fuck sake, we're not saving babies (well most of us aren't) we're just enjoying movies or music, but some of the things that get plasted on YouTube makes you wonder about some people.

  • @timeandmusic Well said

  • @tonymarie1984 lol no response? i wanna see your fail reply here pls.

  • @Beleli99 The fail is your spelling.

  • @tonymarie1984 Ok, wanna talk my language? I'd be glad to teach you. Fail response again.

  • @Beleli99 You win, I have no clue what your trying to achieve, but you win.

  • @tonymarie1984 You spelled hilarious and having wrong. Do not talk about grammar issues.

  • @scott32494 So what are you the third aspergers troll? watch the movie now you wanna pretend to be matt damon super genious.... Do not talk to me XD with your diseased brain parasite of wisdom.

  • @tonymarie1984 Huh? I just noticed a hypocritical error, so i decided to point it out. Those are some good insults though. I just noticed something else also. You got angry because you thought he said having a problem is funny. But then you decided to say I have aspergers. Aspergers is a big problem in one's life, so you are mocking aspergers. So, haveing aspergers is fucken halarious right.

  • @scott32494 It is when you decided to start an arguement. chump.....

  • @tonymarie1984 I did not decide to start an argument. I just decided to point out a simple grammar mistake. You are the one that used insults. I still did not insult you even though you called my brain "diseased with parasites."

  • @scott32494 He never replied. You won. You should fight trolls for a living, dude. I've never seen someone get rid of one so fast!

  • @Calvezthemexicanjedi hahahhaha i will do my best.

  • @tonymarie1984 All humor is based on someone's misfortune. If you can't laugh at things, I see medication, or worse, in your near future.

    It's not your fault.

  • @hotshtsr20 "All humor is based on someone's misfortune." lol no.

  • @ShingoEX Find me one thing that's funny where someone/something is somehow losing/experiencing pain, humiliation, or exaggeration (all of which are unfortunate for someone/thing)? Humor is a coping method we use. Life sucks without it.

  • @ShingoEX The dog that says "mama" and "I love you".

Your concept of humor is a very limited one.

  • @tonymarie1984 Don't be a knob

  • @timeandmusic Of course he was. :)

  • @CrackerJackinmystyle lol! I liked the part when there are always trolls stalking the internet

  • It's not your fault.

  • This scene turns me into Chris Bosh after a tough loss.

  • It's kemps fault, he went full retard dueling

  • such a good scene!!

  • BEST MOVIE EVER!!!!

  • @xxxsmd it's not your fault.
