@Seattlecarnut That is the best way to do it and that is exactly what we did left it original. If you like on my channel search some of the Checker Marathon Cabs we did.
@automotiveadbuilder I might do that. The way I see it, unless an accessory is part of the options list, like say, disc brakes, AM/FM radio, etc., then it shouldn't be on the car. And if there's nothing wrong with the cosmetics on the car, I'd leave it alone. Just a little touch up here and there, you know?
i just bought one exactly like yours with a little faded on the paint. 30,xxx og miles. all it needed was 5 studs and fuel lines and it runs so nice and smooth! bought it for 150 dollars! not a scratch on the paint nor a dent. not even a crack on any of the glass. not a rip in the interior. what a deal. imma post up a video when i get to it.
I HAVE THIS CAR ALSO IT NEEDS WORK INSIDE AND OUT BUT STILL HAS THE SLANT 6 IN IT CAN USE THIS CAR FOR PART'S DOORS HOOD TRUNK FRONT AND BACK WINDOWS SIDE WINDOWS IF YOU WANNA BYE IT CHEAP MAKE AN OFFER I'LL POST A VIDEO IF YOU WANNA SEE IT SO PLEASE HURRY BEFORE I GIVE IT TOO MY CUZ
I got one just like this 3 days ago, same color, same year and everything. the interior is different, not original :(, mine only has 68k original miles with a slant 6. i need to redo the roof though its peeling. I looked at this video to see what original interior is like and was wondering is this original would help alot i wanna get it original again. i also got to redo the dash other than that its a beauty.
@obekende Gosh, on a slant 6 engine...90,000 miles..the engine is hardly broken in. If you used Amsoil synthetic that motor would last a million highway miles. New cars with cheap aluminum heads blow gaskets. Also timing belt tensioners also wear out after 150,000 miles. Slant 6, cast iron heads, timing chains that don't wear out, low maintenance costs. I would change manifolds and put in fuel injection system though. Great car.
I wouldn't put anything on it. Just leave it as is.

My first car was a '72 Dart Custom. Bought in summer '98 for $475 to get to school. Ran like a champ but wasn't near as pretty as yours.

@bigphilly79 I think we payed $500.00 for that one and sold it for $2500.00 after getting it all together.
Those cars run forever.

Nice looking car. Has it been sold or do you still have it? It'd be fun to see it run and drive.
