i have the same bike 2002 crf 450r i have a vid on my channel my bike is doing that same thing,my choke is on in my vid so you cant really hear the noise, it it only dose it at low rpms, it seems to be fine with the choke on because it revs higher the bike still drives fine and works fuckin a1 but just has the knock on bottom end did you ever figure out your problem? the noise coming out of my bike is not quite as bad as yours yet anyway, i was wondering if yours started small and got worse?
My CRF450 was doing that but while I had the rpms still going. I took it to Racers ER and they replaced the CAM CHAIN TENSIONER and it fixed it! Its your cam chain that is loose and its smacking against the side wall inside of the motor. Look into CAM CHAIN TENSIONER it tightens the chain, its on the side of the motor. Hope this helps:)
it is your bottom end bearings man your crank it rattling around the bearings are gone u need 2 get bearings quick if not dont start your bike or u will need a new bottom end because the bottom end will sieze ohhhh bad luck it happend 2 me!!!!!!

@mxracer923 valves need to be adjusted simple fix, but if you dont adjust the valves, then ur fucked, the valves with ummm meet ur piston, what their not suppose to do and ur wallet ummmm has a huge ass hole in it
dude change the rod,rod bearing,top end, and prolly adjust the valves. you need to do this before you blow a rod out the front of the cranke case it happen to my frineds crf250r

That is a bad crank bearing or piston slap. Most likely the crank bearing. You don't want to be reving it like that when you have that problem your making it worse in fact dont need to be reving it like that when cold. But I'm sure you've got the problem fixed

Start by checking the simple things first. Exhaust leak. A rod slap would get louder as you rev it.
