i remember going to that park back in 2003 and it was very fun and i loved the roller coasters they had there. i can't believe cedar fair would get ride of this awsome park, im fucking pissed off as well.

I've listened to 3 different videos so far of this and it reminds me of the sound of a wooden coaster going down a hill. Think about the way the wind from the motion and the vibrations from the wheels on the metal tracks sounds but without the clacking of the lift chain or the screaming riders. Its a sound I would expect to hear *if the park were still running* . Does anyone know was this only on the auction day that it could be heard or has it been heard since, even if not so loud?

@PianoShapedObject We were looking at a lot of videos last night of the park and one had a brief clip of Big Dipper making this exact noise going around the bend. I knew I had heard this sound before!

wow. i heard that noise myself. my daughter and i wen to the park a couple months ago. we were by the main gate.

we were gonna walk into the park. there is a way in right by where the double loop once stood and we starting hear that noise. its such a erie sound. that noise stopped us from walking inside the park.

but i will never forget the noise.

Ughhhhh. Cedar Fair ruined everything. I wanna walk through that park one more time, and ride all of my favorite rides again. My mom was thinking of getting a bench from there and putting it in our backyard.

Ha i totally agree! I live 30 minutes away from it and I usually pass it and it always bring a tear to my eye. Geauga lake was an amazing park!

That's the park's death moans. Sure, explain it away as wind whipping by the Skyscraper but that's actually 119 years of memories, fun, thrills, and smiles dieing. I was there that day I will never forget that sound (any chance you can send me the audio track of the video)... that's the sound of Dick Kinzel killing a beloved park and putting an end to a landmark... the park is crying as are many of us. Good video - great audio!

For those at the park this day, the day before the auction, there was this eerie wind whipping through the park. It was very creepy, almost like it was haunted. Listen again, and keep in mind that the sound picked up on the camcorder is faint compared to the live noise.

Hopefully thats the sound of something new. I really have grudges on cedar fair. Im not the same person after all this. Neither do I look up to cedar fair as I used to. They made a terible mistake. They should've put in new rides. Trust me ... the water park isnt pulling that many people in.. Its next to go. Its all messed up. Really messed up.
