  • Thanks for the "tip"! Didn't even take three minutes to remove the annoying orange plug from my reissue G1 Megatron. Now I can shoot those little pellets and put the silencer on!

  • cool i only have the m 16 and ak47

  • Do you have to remove that tiny pin on the side of the flash hider first? And can boiling it damage your barrel, rust it? Thanks a lot.

  • Do all airsoft guns have a threaded flash hider? I'm not sure if my JG M4 is threaded...

  • @K2theSwenny

Most do, not all. There's a good chance your JG M$ has a threaded flash hider.

  • @theonlybuster i used a pot just like yours and i filled a little bit of hot water in the pot and it worked now i can get a suppressor

  • @theonlybuster,

I have an aeg well r17 airsoft m4 and i tried taking off the orange tip with pliers and no water and it made scratches on my tip. I want to get a mock suppressor just like my 2 friends who have m16a3's... Im gonna use hot water on the tip today because i have school in an hour so thank u for making this video ill comment again if it doesnt work

  • This video is not so you can remove your orange tips and rob a store, this video is so you can remove the flash hider that happens to be orange to install a longer outter barrel or mock suppressor. In terms of guns needing to have an orange tip, is only required for the selling of the gun. Want governmental proof? Send me a message and I'll be happy to respectfully show you.

  • Alright everyone look. I'm trying to be nice here. From now on I'm just going to start blocking people. Removing the orange tip IS NOT illegal. IF you think it is, show me adequate proof not "my friend..." or "i heard..." before commenting mindlessness.

All comments must be approved, so know that your attempts to bash and relay incorrect information will not be seen by anyone. So don't bother typing them out.

  • hi guys, i rescently picked up the D-Boys SCAR-L (ive noticed that lots of SCARs are insanely hard to get rid of the orange tips). It has a hex screwn in the bottom, but there is something like liquid cement covering it and no matter what do i can't pic/heat/boil/burn it off. At this point im willing just to saw it off, just to put the extend barrel that it came with on. If any of you guys can help, that'd be great, but if not, that orange tip has a hot date with a scroll saw.

  • You twisted clock-wise, it said counter clock-wise in the video.

  • @ReepsOneLondon Yeah, that was stated in the video

  • this definalty deserves a sec :)

  • Really helpful man. The glued orange tip on my m4 came right off after this :)

  • how do you get that small pin that connects the orange tip to the barrel??

  • thanks alot buster! good idea at submurging it in hot water. I have a SCAR, so i didn't have to do that fuse stuff XP PS. Don't try to remove the tip without hot water... I really F****d mine up like that...

  • on my Ares M4, i do not have an allen screw in my glued orange tip, its a pin......

    got any tips?

  • Hey once it's off can you put it back on? Cause I bought a WE glock 17 pistol that came with a threaded orange tip and silencer and I want to be able to put the orange tip back on for the silencer and maybe for when I'm transporting it. Please Respond! Thanks!

  • Try taking the metal flash hider off the we scar. That thing is a bitch to get off.

  • If u have read the description he answers a lot of ur questions

  • Does California law say that we have to have it on? Or can we take it off?

  • Thank you helped alot!

  • Insight do this to the ARES M4, but keep the orange tip and put a metal black one during games, put the orange one on when I'm playing/ shooting in my backyard.

  • @Wontonwabledoo Hey, i happen to have the same gun, do you know if the threads are clockwise or counter-clockwise?

  • I just got a new A&K M60VN that comes with a small plastic orange tip, and an orange, larger, metal fluted one. For the life of me, I can't get the crappy plastic one off. Crossing fingers

  • Why do they have to make your life harder, why can't they just make it a screw on -_-

  • hey will this work on a JG MK36K RIS Airsoft Gun? Please send me a PM!

  • @PerryOpsAirsoft

    Yepp, should work just fine.

  • @theonlybuster i have the same g36c by PerryOpsAirsoft but i have 2 screws holding it in. the bottem screw holding it in place is easy to screw off but the second one near the middle part of the orange tip is way too small far any screwdriver or allan wrench to screw off. Help me! what should i do?

  • I need help i dipped my GR-15 in hot water so many time but still wont come out

  • @xjimster G&G guns have super thick glue. I've come to notice you either have to dip these particular guns in near boiling water, or go about it using the old hair dryer method. It takes quite a bit of heat though. I't almost like it's welded onto the gun. It's a bit scary

  • Can you please help me ? I toke out the screw, boiled it in the water and nothing.I still can't get the orange tip off .. What should I do ?

  • @theonlybuster

please help. I'm trying remove the orange tip from my gr15 raider and I removed the tiny allen screw already then I dip it in boiling hot water(leave it in there for 20 minutes). Then I still cant even twist off the orange tip. I even tried pliers but it's just striping my orange tip. What should I do?

  • Do you think this works with the Umarex/Ares version?

  • @TheMightyHarihar This is the reason why you should transport your airsoft weapons in gun bags... Trouble is so many idiots refuse to.

Regardless the original reason for this video is to be able to add a mock suppressor or extended barrel to your weapon, not play with a blackened tip.

  • hey i was wondering i just got my airsoft gun and all of a suuden i put the suppresor on it and it got stuck i cant unsrew it no matter how hard i try

and i even tried biting one side and turning the other stil not working =(

    any help please???

  • "and I don't like my fat crazy psychotic chick neighbors so I went with this method. " Hah! Classic! Lmfao

  • Alright once more, please refer to local laws regarding orange tips. It's only required for the sale and overseas transportation

Also remember to carry your airsoft weapons in a gun bag/case. If you properly move your airsoft replicas to and from the field, there's no worry over being shot by a cop.

    Regardless use common sense...

This thread is mainly to help those who desire to install mock suppressors or another flash hider.

  • @theonlybuster dont forget, if the glue/apoxy isn't letting loose.. dont wrench it. you can damage the gun by turning the barrel hard.

and some states, you dont want to leave suppressors on it unless your at the field. apparently they can be used on real guns...

if a cop ever ask's questions IE sees it in your car, remind him its only illegal to buy it without the flash hider not illegal to remove it

  • i have a question about this method. after removing the orange tip with the hot water would you be able to put it back on or would it be damaged and unusable? i watched the video and read your description and didn't find an answer to this question.

  • @just2comment1019

The waters only loosens the glue. It causes no damage to the flash hider or barrel. Now if you use pliers and squeeze too tight on a plastic flash hider it can warp.

  • @just2comment1019 the orange flash hider should be fine i would wipe it down the inside of it to get rid of any left over residue from the glue that would potentially harden but if that did happen youd just have to dump it back into some hot water to get rid of that residue but it should be fine if you were able to unscrew it with ease

  • Well thats good to know, but i have a Dboy's Scar-l and i can unscrew the allen bolt on the underside, would this help at all? please respond asap

  • @plunger99 I don't understand your question.

As stated in previous comments, some flash hiders have allen screws, you have to remove the screw, then unscrew the flash hider off.

  • @theonlybuster what im saying is that i think that the allen screw has thread lock, could your vid possilby remove thread lock?

  • @plunger99 Yes i have the same gun and you have to take the allen bolt off for the orange tip to come off:)

  • @plunger99 im having trouble with my scar too

  • I removed the orange tip but 2 sides of the Threads are flat. And i'm wondering if i can still screw on a barrel extinsion If two sides sides of the threads are flat and stuff.

  • @luisairguner If you can unscrew it off, you very well should be able to screw it or another on in it's place

  • ILY!!!!!!! NOW I CAN SILENCE MY AK!!!!!!!!!!

  • thank you sooo much bro!!

  • Did your flash hider have a small pin in the middle of the side? I've gotten the screw off, but I have no clue how to get the pin out.

  • In response to all the idiots saying I'm the reason for SB 798 or whatever, the purpose of removing the orange tip isn't solely to play without an orange tip, but also for barrel extensions, installing another flash hider and a few other things.

If a player really wants to play without a orange tip, there's electrical tape as many will do anyway.

    Think before you post.

I've removed many of the SB798 posts simply because they make no sense or have no/wrong facts or are just opinions.

  • should this work the exact same way with a echo 1 gun?

  • In Norway we dont have the orange tip :)

  • does this work for two-piece orange tips like on the cybergun thompson?

  • It can be reconnected right?

  • @TheCaptainAlmight131 As long as you don't mess up the threads, yes.

Same principle as a screw on top for a soda bottle.

  • Would this work for a Glock 17 HFC spring?

  • Awesome, helped me out alot. thanks

  • wat if when u pull the submerged orange tip off, that water goes into the barrel?

  • @RevitalizedVessel It's all fine, just make sure your electrical parts don't get wet. If they do get wet, they the gun dry before connecting a battery to it.

  • Thank you, I was doing this but not in the water long enough very good vid thanks

  • Thanks for sharing this info. I used this technique on my JG r36c and it worked like magic : )

  • Would it work for a MP megatron

  • My aug is 14mm counter clockwise i put it in water and turn it both ways it wont come off and im buff so strength is no excuse but at the website it says

    Counter-clockwise threaded outer barrel (14mm)

    im confused

  • @FobFromAsia There are a lot of threads on the barrel and flash hider. Are you spinning it around enough?

If it's a CCW barrel you need to turn the flash hider counter-clockwise and it should come off.

  • @theonlybuster so i have to turn the orange tip counterclockwise to get it off even though the threads are counterlock?

  • @theonlybuster Hey i have ECHO 1 G36C Ver. X The new should be the same right i think it is the sane but just to make because i'm putting a longer barrel and i need a barrel extinsion so thanks :)

  • @luisairguner should be the same.

  • Thank you kind sir. Your video prevented me from nearly destroying my JG G36c by Fatality xD

  • Plyer user

  • Thanks.

  • Hey, you can put spit around where it would twist off, wait about 10 hours to 1 hour, and boom. IT WORKS, I did it on my JG SIG 552!!!

  • Hey buster, nice video. I'm currently working on a CA M15A4 Rifle (converting to an XM110)

    Thanks for the video man.

  • How much money and from where do you bought that baby?

  • Hey nice video, after u screw it off can you just screw it back on?

  • @GeTWreCked441 as long as your is threaded and you properly twist the flash hider off, yes.

If the flash hider is not threaded, then no.

If you pull the flash hider straight off, AND it is threaded, you'll rip the threads and again no it won't work

  • @theonlybuster

It a JG M733. Im trying to convert it to a XM177. Everything would have been easier if CA didnt decide to discontinue theirs

  • @DaKillaMafia

Yeah I know it sucks. CA is usually CCW flash hiders = counter-clockwise = Anti-clockwise = negative

So look for a Counter-clockwise flash hider.

  • @theonlybuster oh wait it says u cannot sell an airsoft gun without an orange tip srry

  • I have a CCW(-) threaded gun. Im going to buy a flash hider for it but im not sure if im supposed to get CW or CCW. Evike told me that i need to buy a CW threaded flash hider but i think it should be CCW because it wouldnt fit if it wasnt. Can anyone help me

  • @DaKillaMafia If you turn your flash hider clockwise to remove it, then you need a Counter-clockwise (CCW) flash hider.

What brand/type of airsoft weapon is it?

  • Idk if on my ics m4 sportline if i turn it ccw or cw... or if its glued on.

  • 9 times out of 10 it's clockwise to remove, counter-clockwise to install

In terms of glue, well there's really no way of knowing without physically touching the weapon

  • I just did it on my g&g gr16. I too had to have the water boiling in order to get it off. Not sure what glue g&g uses, but its really strong

  • sweet thanks alot, this worked on my g&g combat machine m4 although i did need to wait for the water to boil it still worked perfectly

  • @DDawgg420

For some reason the G&G glue is like concrete. It has to sit in water that's much hotter for a longer period of time. Glad I could help though

  • if any of you are removing the tip from a we blowback pistol, the ones that are long, like one inch or so, ill be willing to buy them for 5 - 12 dollars depending on quality.

  • thanks dude i think the echo 1 guns are all counterclock-wise because thats what the medal tip for my platinum m4 is like and the blow drier thing didnt work for me mainly because it started to melt three minutes in to the ten minute process

  • thanks dude i think the echo 1 guns are all counterclock-wise because thats what the medal tip for my platinum m4 is like

  • Just bought a gun thing for the bf...(without giving his gift away) i got out of him that he didn't like the orange tip thing...your video just made my day <3 haha thank youu (:

  • @kylielarris You are officially the awesomest girl I've met this year.

Girls take note; your present for EVERY occasion should an airsoft gun/accessory or of course the obvious ;)

And if you give him both you get 50 extra awesome points... Not cool points, awesome points.

  • @theonlybuster lmao...well i've bought him three now and he tries to get me to play but they hurt so effing bad lol...so instead of me playing ima just keep buying him the gun things for presents haha <3

  • you sound like shaq haha

  • @clevelandsmith65 Just happy I don't have the same eye "problem" as him

  • @theonlybuster what do you mean ?

  • @clevelandsmith65 his lazy eye

Watch some of the impressions of him and watch how they always elaborate his lazy eye

  • Awesome bro, worked for my Kalashnikov AK47 Premium AEG Blowback.

  • I have tried this method on the Echo 1 STAG-15 carbine, numerous times and I still can't remove the orange tip. It is really frustrating. Any suggestion? Oh and I remove the little hex screw on the bottom of the orange tip.

  • @GTAMarine I hate to say it, but sometimes brute strength is the way. Before going all He-man on it, ensure that any possible screws have been removed. Also you may want to check to be sure that your flash hider CAN be removed and that it's not part of your outer barrel.

Use a towel if you don't want to cause much damage to the flash hider, and hope for the best.

  • @theonlybuster I'll give it a try.

  • for my previous comment... its a g36...

  • @ArkanianMicroStudio

To apply any barrel extension or attachment on the G36 you'll have to remove the flash hider.

  • @theonlybuster Thanks for the info, though sadly in the process to remove the flash hider I ended up breaking part of the plastic holding the 14mm thread. And well the gun was a couple years old and even with boiling for 20 mins it wouldnt come off, so i left in the fire for a good 5 mins and it came off easily, lol a good tip to give for this video.

  • Hey, before i buy something stupid, do barrel extensions (not mock silencers) actually require you to remove the flash hider? or is it another thing altogether.. someone whos bored, please do reply..

  • @ArkanianMicroStudio

To apply barrel extensions most airsoft replicas require this.

Mock Suppressors/Silencers are of somewhat of a different story. There are quick detach (QD) suppressors that will work over some flash hiders. They're mostly made for MP5 type weaponry, but can be adapted to other replicas.

  • how would i remove the tip from a UHC 1911 Black srping airsoft gun

  • cool

  • Does this work on utg l96 with a flush orange tip? Not the cap one pleez reply thank u ^^

  • nevermind finally got it, I held the tip in in boiling water for 3 minutes and didnt budge I held it for another 3 minutes and it finally started moving, so id say it took 6 minutes for mine , I have the G&G m4 blowback

  • so 3 minutes in hot water should do it?

  • thanks man i got it off

  • Loved it need to try it nice work

  • @maxgator3 i have a G&G cm 16 raider and mine is screwed on, I'm not saying I know for a fact that yours is screwed on but just look at the tip for a bit and you might find a screw

  • Very helpful, thank you!

  • Thanks man worked a treat! I owe you.

  • its standard not metric (the wrenches) so if u need help buy a standard thumbs up if this helped

  • does taking it off lower the fps?

  • @XLuisinho17X Won't effect velocity or performance.

  • After removing the orange tip does the orange tip have threads so it can be screwed back on?

  • @fullmetalaeg I swear noone reads through comments before asking questions.

IF the barrel is threaded then odds are your flash hider is also threaded, which means you can put the flash hider back on OR replace it with another barrel accessory.

  • can u change the tip of a m$ G&G to? or is it just the samething

  • @1Txhim I believe G&G's have a small hex screw on the flash hider. Remove the screw and unscrew the flash hider. I don't believe they're using glue

  • @theonlybuster Can u give me a hint wat kind of screw i tried my allen wrenches and no effect

  • @1Txhim It's a HEX screw, not allen. Exactly what size I do not know.

  • @theonlybuster they do use glue and i cant get mine off

  • @theonlybuster so i have a G&G m16A2 and the flash hider will not come off!!!ive done every method on youtube and nothing.any suggestions???

  • :( should of watched this one first

  • I have an echo 1/vectorm arms (dont know if it makes any diffrence) ak47 and wanna know if I can take off the orange tip you say you need to take out the fuse box just in case and I cant find it unless I open up the whole outter barrel (i'm very new to airsoft so I'm pretty much a dumbass here) I also checked the manual but it didnt say anything

  • @VympelTrainee The fuse box removal is in this case just for the G36 because it's so close to the front of the weapon where it will be exposed to water. You don't have to, it's more of a "just in case" type thing.

  • thanks alot man this really helped me out

  • can u put it back on

  • @simoneproductions As long as it's threaded you can put it back on

  • i've got a Magpul Masada...hopefully this will work for it...

  • Thank you so much...finally a good tip removal method

  • @Gannon141 Well if the flash hider IS part of the outter barrel then honestly and bluntly you're screwed.

If it's an additional attachment you should double check for a small hex screw on the bottom of the flash hider.

Sometimes you have to give it a good hard turn. And remember IT'S THE OPPOSITE from normal tops. Clock-wise is OFF, counterclock-wise is ON

  • thats pretty cool

  • that actually pretty cool

  • Will this melt the front of the gun if it is plastic?

    Thx :D

  • @allenli98 No it won't. Even using boiling will not melt the plastic parts of your weapon. BUT I recommend hot water, no need to use boiling water.

Make sure you look out for hex screws. They sometimes put one on the bottom of the flash hider. You can easily see if

  • extremaly helpfull thanks alot!

  • couldnt you just spray paint i?

  • @uglydollsinc123 the point of the video is to show that the flash hider can be removed to attach suppressors, other flash hiders, or barrel extensions.

  • Oh man..... when i removed the flashhider from my brand new WE M14 .... it was so tightly glued (those chinese are damn good gluers) that i had to use a freakin mototool to take the damn thing off.... i cut the flashhider and finally took it off.

( i really didnt need to do it and spoil the old flashhider.... maybe i could have kept it if i had used hot watter).

    Thanks a lot.

  • sweet i have a echo 1 x36c g36c samething it says on the box d36c but same but thanks now i have to go but a silience again also though how do you put the fuse back in

  • same pair of plyers i have! thanks this vid helped.

  • thanks alot ! can you tell me if my gun has ccw(14mm-) the flash hider has 14mm+ because the most silencer on market are seing 14mm- but thei don't say if the silencer is 14mm- or the gun has to be?

  • @96silentdeath Most "Reslistic" type barrel extensions/suppressors/etc should be Negative or CounterClock-wise.

Negative with negative, positive with positive.

  • thanks alot !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! can you tell me if my gun has ccw(14mm-) the flash hider has 14mm+ because the most silencer on market are seing 14mm- but thei don't say if the silencer is 14mm- or the gun has to be????

  • To the person who said it was a bad idea removing the orange tip if you're going on a plane: Umm call me old fashion, but what would possess you to bring your airsoft weapon on a plane? On top of that you can't even bring an airsoft weapon in an airport let alone plane. Please read the laws before commenting/doing.

  • @theonlybuster i have none cuz i realized u can only remove it once u buy it

  • Thank you :D

  • BLACK POWER !!!

  • helped alot man thanks

  • what about gas blowback pistols?

  • you sure you should place it in water? from what we all know. aside from the electric wires 'n' stuff, isnt it kinda bad to the inner barrel and piston.

water could condensate in the gun and possibly cause a natural death to itself.

  • @PinoyPogiman You remove the battery before adding water. You can dunk the entire gun in water after that if you want. I really wouldn't though. And what about the inner barrel and piston?

How would it cause natural death? As long as you're using plain old water and not salt water or anything you'll be fine. If you're really afraid about condensation in the barrel, get your unjamming rod, put a piece of napkin through the thread and dry it out after you remove the flash hider.

  • @theonlybuster hmm, that seems okay then. i just dont like the idea, but if it helps get me that AKM slanted flashider for my ak47 then maybe just maybe

  • @PinoyPogiman Regardless it sounds like you're trying to discredit this video or give wrong, inaccurate information.

If you don't want to use this method simply don't. The added warm to hot water is only to loosen up the glue enough to twist off the top.

  • do you know if you have to take the orange tip off in order to put a silencer on a pistol?

  • @drsatan29 Depends on the pistol. If the orange tip is threaded then no. If the orange tip isn't, and neither is the barrel then you'll have to replace the entire barrel with a threaded barrel. If you remove the orange tip and the barrel is threaded, then just remove the orange tip and add a mock suppressor

  • good to know.....I want to get a AK47 "Metal verison" Airsoft

  • good idea!!!

  • hey i took off my orange tip and the threading was weird their would be threading then it stop and their would be a gap with no threading and this is in like 3 or 4 places on the "threads". Is that normal?

  • @hollycow123445 depends, most airsoft guns are like that i guess.

yeah, the gaps are where the glue is located.

  • What if its gas operated?

  • @havok710 depends on how it's made.

Some have threaded barrels and allow for attachments. Some don't have any threads and the orange tip is either glued, painted, or placed at the tip.

  • @theonlybuster ok thank you for the info.

  • @havok710 if its a gas one you should just paint it, then you can still put attachments on the front unlike if you completely removed the tip.

  • hey is there threads underneath the flash hider
