Ok, seriously, why does everybody outside of Japan who make stuff related to Legend of Zelda (CD-I, anyone?) portray Link as the corniest person on earth?

I bet that none of the LoZ-gamers picture Link as this cheesy guy who smacks around moblins with a pillow wearing the shortest night shirt in history of mankind. We see him as an awesome silent protagonist who stabs monsters in the freakin' face. He doesn't need words to be awesome.

When i first played ocarina of time after beating the game and adoring every part i put together some clues...and came to the conclusion that link and zelda are siblings...blond hair, pointy ears, mothers both of their mothers died in a fire, and both have a piece of the tri-force.. looking at this its clear its not...i need some input from other people
