I feel you, I found a 95 Eclipse/Talon for $4000.00 I wanted to buy it and re-place the import stuff that wasn't in. Like I doubt the dudes block could take the 450+hp it put out at the wheels. It had 86k on the engine and my dad thinks im crazy that I wanted to buy it. I think it's a good car with a remolded interior only needs some work under the hood not a problem. It has a lot of the good stuff like good intake, turbo, brakes, 3 point safety harness, new spark plus and tubes.

The NSX is a great car. It's just seriously underpowered for a supercar. 290hp? Come on. A $30k Mustang is just as fast in a drag race. If only Honda would have put at least 5.0 liters in it, it would have competed with Ferraris. Because they didn't, the Z06 can actually beat it at less than half the price.
When you buy an NSX, you buy a true sportscar with amazing technology. When you buy a z06 u buy a car that can go fast on a straight line and that's about it. Newer z06 has more hp and handles better though

It pulled 1.0 G lateral completely stock in 2001. I OWN the car. In all honesty, it's power is only an equal part to it's equally great cornering and braking.

It is a driver's race. Cobalt's are crap. SC Cobalts make 200-210hp(not brake hp) w/200 tq out of a SC 2.0 4 banger. Si's make .. what's that... 200 (not brake hp) out of a 2.0 4 banger N/A. Chevy has some learning when it comes to squeezing out as much hp per cylinder in their engines. My S2K eats SC cobalts for breakfast.
but honda has no torque, so you have to rev the shit out of the engine before you get to any of that power, with the cobalt, the power is constant through the rpm range
A S/C making 210whp(yes stupid chevy underrates their cars) will not walk over an si. it's pretty much a driver's race. If u put a newbie on the cobalt, not even the s/c and all the tq it has will help him. Si's butter smooth transmission from a combination of the 1-5gear rsx ratio and 5-6 gear tsx is nice :D

The NSX is a great car. It's just seriously underpowered for a supercar. 290hp? Come on. A $30k Mustang is just as fast in a drag race. Slalom speed only tells you how well a car changes direction. It means next to nothing in racing. Lateral G, acceleration times, and braking distances are the things that tell you how well a car will perform on the race track. Which is why nobody talks about slalom speed. Why don't you compare the other measurements between the Si and the American cars?

That is what REALLY tells you how fast a car corners, not just change directions like the slalom. Also check the stopping distances. ok look.i wasted a honda si with my cobalt LS (LS has a bigger engine than the SS, LS has a 2.2 LT while the SS has only a 2.0).yes i have tweaked it a little but it has no superchager nor turbo it was just that i was the better driver.oh by the way i am not a die hard chevy fan i like my car but i am a MAZDA guy all the way.

You put forced induction on ANYTHING and it will be fast. An engine has no idea who manufactures it, it doesn't know if it's an import or domestic. You cram enough air and fuel down it's throat, if it stays together, it has the capability to go fast. That being said, I have yet to see an import run 6.3x in the 1/4 using just displacement...... Jon Kaase makes it happen with 60's technology V8's.

why don't we talk stock cars. since throwing 2 turbos and 100 shot of direct port doesn't have anything to do with engineering from honda or whoever. Mach 1 mustang: 320 hp N/A. Twin turbo supra: 320 hp TT. Evo IV: about 400 hp with turbo+ AWD. C6 Z06: 505 hp n/a RWD. jap cars are shit without forced intake. just imagine how slow a supra or evo would be without turbos! lmao! or how fast a vette would be with a blower!

No it's not a used 2002 Si with 40K miles on it costs 10-14K a used 2002 Z28 with 50K miles on it can run from 9-13K, one is a high 15 second car and one is a high 12 second car, one is a FWD econobox the other a RWD muscle car. for the price of a new SI you can get a SRT-4, Cobalt SS, slightly used WRX.

Yeah because the RX7 and the Supra are really in a Camaro's price range, those cars should be compaired to the Corvette and Zo6, and if german cars are so great the C6 Zo6 beats the Ferrari F430, and 911 turbo in almost all performance categories, also STi, EVO, Skyline are all High 12 sec, Low 13 Sec cars just like the LS1 Camaro and Cobora mustang, in a straight line there is no beating american cars, around corners thats a different story.

It is a driver's race. Cobalt's are crap. SC Cobalts make 200-210hp(not brake hp) w/200 tq out of a SC 2.0 4 banger. Si's make .. what's that... 200 (not brake hp) out of a 2.0 4 banger N/A. Chevy has some learning when it comes to squeezing out as much hp per cylinder in their engines. My S2K eats SC cobalts for breakfast.

A S/C making 210whp(yes stupid chevy underrates their cars) will not walk over an si. it's pretty much a driver's race. If u put a newbie on the cobalt, not even the s/c and all the tq it has will help him. Si's butter smooth transmission from a combination of the 1-5gear rsx ratio and 5-6 gear tsx is nice :D
