@Wintercomet100 only way to tell is to look at the barrel. which we cant do bc its a video. the MG36 had a heavy barrel. HK made some for testing and to offer to the Bundeswehr. but they said a regular G36 with the bipod and Beta-C mag worked just fine. so HK stopped production and only about 200 survive today

@Fredfredbug4 No, it isn't. Accuracy between both weapons is probably about equal, functionally they can be considered the have the same level of accuracy. On the reliability side, I'd give a slight advantage of the roller delayed blow black system on the G3. It's very rugged.

It's funny how all the Krautophiles will say the M16 is cheap for having plastic furniture, but then the G36 is amazing when the whole freakin receiver is plastic. Larry Vickers said the G36's plastic receiver could warp under use. Or the Krautophiles will say the AK is cheap stamped sheet metal, but the G3 is stamped sheet metal and that gun is amazing german wonder quality some how.

@esh325 Yes but the German weapons will be made to a better standard. My grand uncle lugged the M-16 around Vietnam and has said he would have given his left arm for his m-14 he trained with back and was even tempted to carry an AK if he could hang onto one. American build quality has since WW2 been quite poor. German weapons are also better because they are not made to fit in with some bullshit procurer from d.c's idea of what is financially acceptable.

@Thespeakerofmanytru8 The M16 didn't work well in Vietnam, but it's a much more reliable rifle today. The M1 Garands I've fired from the 1950's were very well made. I've fired many WW2 and post war US firearms and they are very well made. That's totally false what you're saying. I would agree that some German weapons are better then American weapons, but not all. I don't know anything about Germany's arm procurment system.

@esh325 Garand is a 1930's design and I'm sure any made in the 50's were probably just finished in the 50's from WW2 parts, I shudda said build and design quality has been poor. Germans make better designed and manufactured weapons, you just have to look at the M60 to see how badly the US can mess up a design. Germans buy what their military needs and will give their troops the best, US buys what "gets the job done" on a cost effective basis.

The russians did do amazing work with the VSS Vintorez, of course the AK-47/74 AKM, RPD/RPK, AKS-74U etc and the AN-94 abakan. (that thing had over 1000 rpm in 2 round burst mode) but the germans are top in terms of ingenuity, the US are in top for the m4/16 platform in terms of customization. ( no shit, the US and the Ar-15 has a million diff parts for it) every nation has its highs and lows. no one is 'best'

@monkeypoo3000 in terms of realiability, yes. i have a bwm 318i (2004 e46) and its rather expensive to run, and parts are expensive for what they are. but i have to admit the gearbox and transmission are incredibly smooth, you cant feel the changing of gears. the germans make very refined cars that are great, but in terms of economic and parts and reliability, a manufacturer like toyota is a great example. however hondas are shit..
