you really cannot compare avatar to naruto. avatar the series has like 60 episodes and its a lot smaller project than naruto..naruto and naruto shippuden have like 400 episodes and the plot is a lot better than avatar. avatars basics are only about bending the four elements and the reason its popular its because of the simple storyline and cause its mostly for kids audiance...naruto on other hand has a huge storyline and lots of epic original plot that blows my mind:) but one piece beats both :D
Avatar's better. They keep up a good pace and actually have relatable characters. Naruto: main character's annoying, Sasuke's an emo douche, Sakura's a bitch, and there's too many fucking flashbacks!! Avatar wins!
@roman45340 No it's not, Avatar is much better. Maybe not at making emotional moments but at least Avatar doesn't focus 2-3 episodes on a fight that's not even interesting (Example: Guy Sensei vs Guy Sensei on Naruto Shippuden).

@worldends08 hmmm, i wouldnt know that they play anime on NICK. i stopped watching that when all the good shows left. anywase, despite who ever kicks most ass, i like watching naruto better. its good that they made a real movie on avatar but i think it would be even better if they made a real naruto movie, which would end up being lame like most anime to real life movie.....
@Mttgangster21 I was just breezing by the channels on a Sunday - in 2005 - when I came across the encore airing of the first three episodes. I couldn't believe my eyes when I first saw it; I tried Googling it so that I could find out the whole story, and was surprised to find out it was a NEW show altogether. (It may look like anime; but it's an American show; a Korean studio does the animation.)

(It reminds me of the time when I was a kid, and I used to play pretend-games w/ my friends. Someone would ALWAYS come up with an idea to counter everyone else.)

Aang for sure why because if you guys saw the final battle you would see that Aang is nothing to be toyed with, and Aang can take away a person's power to bend, which is awesome besides he is the earth and spirit bridge manifested into 1 person

Madara's space time technique is actually defensive as it's ued to send him or whatever he touches to another area so as long as an ATLA character stays out of his touch "which is easier than you think" it's all good.

@MultiMasterflash Only a handful? Now I know you don't know what you are talking about. Sasuke, Itachi, Naruto, Jiraiya, Orochimaru, Madara, Kakuzu, Kakashi, Kisame, and Minato. That is just a FEW capible of such speeds and each of them single handedly can open up a can of whoop-ass on the Avatar universe. Saying Aang can beat Naruto is like saying Naruto can beat Superman. It isn't gonna happen.
@MultiMasterflash Except most ATLA characters aren't used to dealing with that level of speed. Genin level ninjas have displayed casual superhuman speed from the beginning. Also faster than eye differes in perception. Just because some could follow a high tier speedster in Narutoverse doesn't necessarily mean all in ATLA characters can do the same. Differences in reactions as well.

Naruto doesn't summon his toads for just any reason. He prefers to keep things even. For example as long as Aang keeps Appa out of the battle (which he'll most likely do) Naruto won't even attempt to summon any toad at all

@Zakill There are different types of Wind Release. There are ones like Ninja use handseals to mold their wind chakra into actual wind element. Aang can bend those.
But Aang can't bend Wind Chakra. Because its not actual wind. Its just a different type of energy. According to Narutoverse Wind Chakra is something that leans to cutting/slashing. Even if Aang can affect Wind Chakra his effects won't be as drastic.
Naruto would easily win, all the action in Avatar is at a regular speed level, in Naruto they're moving so fast it's like they're teleporting just Naruto with one kunai could stab Aang in the back before he even blinks. Admitedly if Naruto never figures out that you have to kill the Avatar when they're in avatar mode, eventually naruto will grow old and die while the avatar is constantly reincarnated.

You are correct but ATLA characters in general aren't going to win against even a high tier naruto character minus like Avatar State Aang, Comet Ozai, Comet Iroh, Comet Azula, Toph, Bumi and few others.

Wind, fire, lighting earth, and water manipulation are real super powers and the majority of the ATLA cast have at least one of those traits.

@321zigzag1 I have watched all the Narutos episode and wait for the weekly fansubs. I am currently halfway through Avatar Book 2 Episode 10. I can cofidently say you grossly underestimate Aang. Lee would get thrown, burned, buried then drowned/froze. Lee only has Taijutsu, while Aang has Ninjutsu of all elements he is more like a Sage of the six paths instead of a lowly genin.
If you mean Aang as in Avatar Form Aang. You will be right. If you mean Aang as in Base Regular Aang? You aren't taking in the consideration that Lee is too physically fast, too physically strong for Aang to react to him. Aang is what you call a peak human at best with superhuman speed only when augmented by airbending. Lee surpasses those qualities alot and even much more when he becomes Weightless.
@Zakill Also Base Aang's range and destructive power isn't that impressive in Base compared to what ninjas face.
Also Sage of the Six Paths on his deathbed by legend supposedly made the moon. That is something way far beyond Avatar Aang has done. You can say Kyoshi bent a continent for a small Island, but if you watch it takes full concentration to bend it slowly, so it isn't practical in battle although impressiv.e
Well Comet Ozai and Avatar State Aang are the only ones who could fight at top tier Naruto. Mainly Avatar State Aang though. Ozai and Aang flies and do major damage output.
Iroh's only problem is that he hasn't shown flying feats although he has the biggest fireball and Jeong Jeong only hovers hence he is large target. This is going by comet anyway.

Take Toph for example. She's blind and she can fight by basically using evey other sense, or Katara. Her waterbending skill is phenominal for a girl her age and given her bloodbending skill she is almost unbeateable under a full moon
Problem is that that especially Katara she will get easily blitzed. Toph is less likely but same here. If you equalize speed then thats a different scenario and for Katara more so Full Moon, but unless Katara is angry she is less likely to use Bloodbending.

Toph due to her earth sense has potential. Not just that. She is very young.
Its just the same with Katara although its worse for Katara, they lack the physical requirement to compete with Ninja in speed and strength. Toph's earth sense is a bit redeeming factor but thats it.
Mind you Toph can beat most of the Narutoverse if speed was equalized in matches.

With one swift movement, while many ninjas would still be doing their hand signs or opening their chakra gates or whatever, the water bender can just suck the water right out of their bodies and leave them as nothing more than shriveled up raisins in the dirt.
@JustinHill47 You're forgetting that not all jutsu requires handsigns.Plus,ninjas such as Itachi and Kakashi are able to do about 30 handsigns in a few seconds.Naruto for one,does not really use handsigns.Only for his clones.

Most ninjas aren't geniuses like them, however, and most aren't nearly as discrete and subtle in their movements. Also, with sage Naruto, a water bender doesn't even have to penetrate his skin to affect him. The water in his body can just be frozen solid or swirled around until all the internal organs have been thrashed.
@JustinHill47 A waterbender could hold their own against the less-important characters.But I believe they can't against the main characters such as Naruto(due to his current improvements and powerups in the latest chapter),Sasuke,Tailed-Beast,Akatsuki,and others.I agree with water-benders defeating characters such as Shikamaru and Hinata.I don't think Katara would be able to manipulate the tailed-beast(and obviously others).Her reactions would be too slow before she could move.

A powerful enough water bender could probably pull it off against all expectations similar to how a powerful enough Earth bender could probably bend metal against all expectations. The avatar has been known to do things normal benders cannot, so he/she is a good person to look to for an example of someone who defies limitations.

Naruto would win because if it was Sasuke against Zuko, Sasuke would just use chidori and Zuko can't redirect a direct attack. For Naruto and Aang, Naruto has the drive and will to kill people if neccesary, Aang on the other hand runs away from his problems and refuses to kill even if it would save millions of lives. The Avatar State is probably equal to 2 of the Kyuubi's tails. Also the fact that the Naruto cast has speed that the people from Avatar can't match even if they were airbenders.

Gara is basically an earth bender and from what I remember he was handing Naruto his ass. The fair comparison is Naruto before Shippuden vs Avatar Aang. being equal age experience and powers being set. Teen Naruto has not finished developing so his powers remain to be seen.

@Mttgangster21 I was just breezing by the channels on a Sunday - in 2005 - when I came across the encore airing of the first three episodes. I couldn't believe my eyes when I first saw it; I tried Googling it so that I could find out the whole story, and was surprised to find out it was a NEW show altogether. (It may look like anime; but it's an American show; a Korean studio does the animation.)

I find interesting in it's own way too; but I think I've reached my limit w/ the Sharingan; it's got TOO many "tricks." Also faster than eye differes in perception. Just because some could follow a high tier speedster in Narutoverse doesn't necessarily mean all in ATLA characters can do the same. Differences in reactions as well.

For the record, both shows have pros/cons like all the rest.
1. Naruto's Madara had a better, planned out agenda than ATLA's Ozai did. ("Hmm, burn down the kingdom? How original! Glad I thought of it!")
2. ATLA does NOT hold back the females from getting the spotlight - or become drama queens.
3. Naruto has a more abundant supply of side characters getting the chance to kick butt than a small group traveling with the Avatar.
4. Aang learned more in 10 months than Naruto did in 3 yrs!

Naruto doesn't summon his toads for just any reason. He prefers to keep things even. For example as long as Aang keeps Appa out of the battle (which he'll most likely do) Naruto won't even attempt to summon any toad at all

@Zakill There are different types of Wind Release. There are ones like Ninja use handseals to mold their wind chakra into actual wind element. Aang can bend those.
But Aang can't bend Wind Chakra. Because its not actual wind. Its just a different type of energy. According to Narutoverse Wind Chakra is something that leans to cutting/slashing. Even if Aang can affect Wind Chakra his effects won't be as drastic.
Rasenhuriken is an example.

Naruto would easily win, all the action in Avatar is at a regular speed level, in Naruto they're moving so fast it's like they're teleporting just Naruto with one kunai could stab Aang in the back before he even blinks. @321zigzag1 I have watched all the Narutos episode and wait for the weekly fansubs. I am currently halfway through Avatar Book 2 Episode 10. I can cofidently say you grossly underestimate Aang. Lee would get thrown, burned, buried then drowned/froze. Lee only has Taijutsu, while Aang has Ninjutsu of all elements he is more like a Sage of the six paths instead of a lowly genin.

You aren't taking in the consideration that Lee is too physically fast, too physically strong for Aang to react to him. Aang is what you call a peak human at best with superhuman speed only when augmented by airbending. Lee surpasses those qualities alot and even much more when he becomes Weightless.

Well Comet Ozai and Avatar State Aang are the only ones who could fight at top tier Naruto. Mainly Avatar State Aang though. Ozai and Aang flies and do major damage output.
Iroh's only problem is that he hasn't shown flying feats although he has the biggest fireball and Jeong Jeong only hovers hence he is large target. This is going by comet anyway.

@NarutoXxXUzumaki I agree with the Itachi and Sasuke bit. Those two are among the specific examples I would have listed as exceptions as well. Most ninjas aren't geniuses like them, however, and most aren't nearly as discrete and subtle in their movements. Also, with sage Naruto, a water bender doesn't even have to penetrate his skin to affect him. The water in his body can just be frozen solid or swirled around until all the internal organs have been thrashed.

@JustinHill47 A waterbender could hold their own against the less-important characters.But I believe they can't against the main characters such as Naruto(due to his current improvements and powerups in the latest chapter),Sasuke,Tailed-Beast,Akatsuki,and others.I agree with water-benders defeating characters such as Shikamaru and Hinata.I don't think Katara would be able to manipulate the tailed-beast(and obviously others).Her reactions would be too slow before she could move.

A powerful enough water bender could probably pull it off against all expectations similar to how a powerful enough Earth bender could probably bend metal against all expectations. The avatar has been known to do things normal benders cannot, so he/she is a good person to look to for an example of someone who defies limitations.

Naruto would win because if it was Sasuke against Zuko, Sasuke would just use chidori and Zuko can't redirect a direct attack. For Naruto and Aang, Naruto has the drive and will to kill people if neccesary, Aang on the other hand runs away from his problems and refuses to kill even if it would save millions of lives. The Avatar State is probably equal to 2 of the Kyuubi's tails. Also the fact that the Naruto cast has speed that the people from Avatar can't match even if they were airbenders.

umm who are all the fags saying the Avatar would win? Seriously? Thats like saying Naruto could beat Goku in a fight... They are on two completely different power levels. Aang, or anyone else from Avatar for that matter, wouldn't be able to take hit from any of the Naruto cast. And come on people its not who you like better... its who is stronger. Aang in Avatar mode is strong... but compared to Naruo in Sage mode, he is no match. 1 direct punch would kill Aang.

@klolklolklolk If you doubt the potential and power of character in Avatar than you need to go watch it with an open mind. Gara is basically an earth bender and from what I remember he was handing Naruto his ass. The fair comparison is Naruto before Shippuden vs Avatar Aang. being equal age experience and powers being set. Teen Naruto has not finished developing so his powers remain to be seen.

@MultiMasterflash What!? Now I'm convinced you've never seen Naruto. In Sage Mode, Naruto is faster than Aang, punches harder than Aang, and uses a technique that will damage Aang on a cellular level. Avatar State is nothing compared to Sage Mode. Kyuubi>>>>>Water Spirit.

@MultiMasterflash Your arguments are invalid. Naruto characters are far stronger. Multiple characters have city busters, and the only thing in avatar that could even be considered a city buster is Aangs water spirit form. Naruto kills an S class ninja with a punch that doesn't even hit him directly, Aang doesn't kill 1 person. And Naruto in Kyubi form could easily take Avatar form Aang. And once we see what he can do in full jinchuuriki form, there will be no question.

@klolklolklolk Really? How about the white lotus members? All of them but Piandow can destroy cities, fully realized Avatars can do it too. And the last time I checked Naruto hasn't killed ANYBODY (Correct me if I'm wrong.) and Aang is a fully realized avatar and one of hundreds of avatars before him. Trust me, if you thought he attacks he used against Ozai were impressive, just IMAGINE the shit Aang can bring out against Naruto

@MultiMasterflash No one in the White Lotus ever destroyed a city. What are you talking about? In a way, Naruto killed Kakuzu 2 times with a single RasenShuriken. Besides, Naruto has a way of changing people like he did with Gaara. He never really needed to kill anyone. If you thought the attacks Naruto used on Pain were impressive, just imagine what he'd do to Aang. A single Pain can take down Fire Lord Ozai.

@ZurBar8 No but they CAN do that (Just look at what Bumi did to Omashu during the eclipse.) Techically it was Kakashi who dealt the proverbial "Death Blow" to Kakuzu, not Naruto. Aang is a peaceful, talk first-fight later monk who speaks of peace, kindness, and all that good stuff.
Aang is not just the better fighter than Naruto, he's the better person too!

Naruto, that's who. That seems like a decent person to me, especially since he had such a crappy childhood. not technically sage chakra is super hard to control it takes alot of time and Patience to master if you cant control that chakra you could turn into a statue and never come back so bloodbenders like katara could turn in to statues
