I did find out however is that the imperium dosen't realy care about life because it's so common and that one of the chaos gods, Nurgle actually cares if his followers live or die. One more thing I found out is that the imperium sacrafices psykers in order to sustain the emperor's life who is half dead on the golden throne.

The description text is also great, summarizes everything chaos is about.
