Actually that lunky of an idle is cause by both cam and the vacuum advance. When the idle drops under low vacuum the spark changes and depending on the carb app, you get an extreme idle.

surge comes from being too small on the nozzle jets, all those other reasons for the lope are BS, it would take a huge paragraph to explain why, but id be more than happy to. makes for great throttle responce but will lean out on the top end, but have to admit it sounds awsome!

That's blower surge. The cam is healthy, but a big roots style blower and mechanical injection or carbs does that because the fuel/air mix keeps going lean/rich. If that thing had a well tuned EFI system it probably wouldn't do that, unless the owner wanted it to do it.

its a small block with tall valve covers. if you pause it around 5 seconds, you can see that there are only two bolts holding the covers on the outside. small blocks have 2 on the outside and 2 on the inside, big blocks have 4 on the outside and 3 on the inside.

its the blower. when you run a big cam there is overlap. you cant have alot of overlap with a blower because the intake system is under pressure from the supercharger pushing the air through the intake. if you had a big cam with overlap the blower could be pushing air down ever time the valve opens and not just on the intake stroke. blower motors run really small cams and really small compression. believe it or not...im only 17

The 383 went into a beutiful 69 ss camaro, candy apple red, has a TH400 tranny (i think), 3.32 rear end. My dads buddy now owns the car. worth $20,000

Most guys like this truck use a simple mechanical type fuel injection. the injector plate sitsright on top of the blower and under the hat. The 3 flaps in the front of the hat are believe it or not the actuall throttle plates. You can buy blower hats also that have the red flaps in the front but are not the actuall throttle blades. They mimikc. The hat on this truck is the reall thing.
