@billkilpatrick Well i have no problem with your pronunciation. It is not 100% kwon how people can speak\sing "Mittelhochdeutsch" right. If you hear the song "Unter der Linden" from some German Cover Bands you will see that your pronunciation ist not bader or better.
The German what we use today in Germany and the English what you use in the USA or the UK its more similar as this old version of the German Language to the modern german.A german can not sing better this.
Wunderschoen gemacht!
that's because you're young, arrogant and - i would surmise - more than a little stupid ... reminds me of me. a few glorious memories in later life is like owning diamonds - just you wait and see ...
Lately I am focusing more on the German minnesaenger and I really enjoyed this rendition!Oh, if only we could go back in time and sit with these poets, recording all the lost tunes! When I began (attempting) to translate the lyrics from the Manesse Codex, I fell in love with it.I wasn't aware of the stature of Vogelweide in Germany when I picked him out of the others like the moon shining through the trees.I've been working on finding the pronunciation of MHG.The language is more like English.
thanks for the compliments ... i was told that old german sounded more like modern dutch - "hoop-dee-loop-dee-noop-dee-doop ..." i once got some disparaging comments from someone in finland about my latin pronunciation ...
very nice, and its funny to hear a yankee singing in mittelhochdeutsch :D it sounds funny with the accent, and wow, your voice is great, I really enjoyed listening to you.
thank you for your concern - i really appreciate it. when i first learned the song, i checked my pronounciation with an austrian girl and a swiss man, both living in the village. perhaps i have a "tune-up" with them before attempting the song again. kind regards - bill
He has his heart in singing!
But please, show the text in the info-box, billkilpatrick! I beg you!
Excelent work man!I am very happy to see that some not german peoples are interested on german culture.Good Job and thx.

Nice tune. What flavor of german is that?
oldwhtman 4 years ago
it's supposed to "old" german but with my accent, it could be anything. i'm told "old" german sounded something like dutch.
