I got braces about 8 months ago, i have tartar round the back of my front teeth on my lower jaw, its getting worse and if i run my tongue along one of the teeth i can feel something slightly jagged. There is a metal wire which runs behind my front teeth on my lower jaw and i notice that the tartar is only below that wire and not above it. Does anybody know any tips to get rid of it, i even had a Dentist appointment but he didnt say anything was wrong with my teeth.

@OptimusPrime11162 i know im 3 weeks late, and your probably used to them by now, but it usually takes about a week. They do become VERY sore when you first get them on for the first couple of days. I've had them on for almost 3 years. Good luck ! lol

It's my second week with braces on, and the first week was PAIN! But your mouth will get used to the pain after the second week. but it depends on the person. Btw, this video was helpful. Gonna go brush my teeth now!

But, what you are forgetting is, you can't access the brace from the top to bottom as there are obsticles in the way. You know, them things, what are they called? LIPS and GUMS... Duh!

I have braces and it only hurts for the first 2 days, then the rest of the week it will only hurt when you eat, so eat soft foods or soup when you get braces! :) I'm on my secod week with braces! And I'm eating pasta right now! :))

you can buy a water pick at costco to clean the insides of ur braces and for the gums. it is like a tube and it squirts out water into ur mouth thats takes out food insideur bracesand gums. my mom got me one and i havent had trouble since!

@conversecolors13 Don't use whitening objects to make your teeth whiter when you have braces. Under the brackets would become yellow and when you try to whiten them, they will become permanently whiter than the rest of your teeth.

I'm getting my braces off in the fall, then retainers and I'm worried my teeth will look terribly yellow and gross! I want to use toothpastes and crest whitening strips but I'm worried if those types of products will take my enamel off my teeth and my mom says it's very bad to lose that when ur young! @Lillyweed182 about a week and a half. it took quite a while for the pain in my teeth to go down and me to adjust my bite. i have an underbite so i have to wear the stupid bands on my front teeth which are more irritating than the braces themselves

Just wondering is it "usual" to have like your bottom front teeth underneath the gum line to have your roots( i think it's roots O_o) barely visible as in the picture at 0:31 ?I was a poor brusher not too long ago but have since changed but am very concerned if I have gingervitus. I don't really know the answer to that but I have braces(i also have a braces channel)

and i'm 14 but when i was 11 and didn't have braces i had gingervitus and bassicly my gums were red instead of pink so just look at your gum colour and if they are red start brushing them a little better (gently)

I have been wearing the regular braces for about nine months, but my dentist still uses metal ligature on the brackets. I wonder when can I have plastic ligatures on, because metal ligatures always give me cuts and break the cheek skin. Is metal ligature works better than the plastic one? because my dentist once told me metal ligature works better as it will not lose elasticity as the plastic ones do.

eg. chewing gum and biting in2 an apple

but I cant really remember if he said this for just the start as i just got my braces or if it is for the whole year?

I've never liked chewing gum or the feeling of biting in2 an apple but I do like custard creams :P and when I got home to have some I was left with a horrible pain from biting in2 the biscuit. can i eat biscuits like these in about a week?

@Gizzel1800 my tooth brush has never gotten stuck in my braces. but sometimes a bristle might get ripped off and stuck in my braces so I just pull it out. it's not that bad :)
