At least your ankle and foot are free man, I had a long leg from toe to upper thigh, cylinder casts are bad because you are helping the muscles in the leg move while the knee is healing.
I know how u feel ... I just got on my laptop, I'm in the ER and they put one on my leg, and I'm going to b in this for 4-5 months... And I'm in a LATS (long arm thumb spica) cast This sucks!!!!!.... And if ur wondering what happened I got hit by a drunk driver...
