@20jameo Do you mean why the rollercoaster is called that? Sorry, the title is perhaps a little misleading. The Big Breakfast was the name of the TV show. The coaster is called The Pepsi Max Big One, in Blackpool. Although I think it might have been called simply The Big One when it first opened.
love this ride! although my first time on it, it stopped half way up the hill but i dont know what was wrong with it but alwell! still a great ride :D
Apparently when they used to operate all 3 trains it gave the station crew about 1 minute to load the trains so that the ride didn't have to stop for too long on a set of brakes outside the station and about two thirds (2/3) of the way around the coaster.
coastermadab - Do they not do so now then? I know vitually nothing about this ride, other than it's name. But I do know that there was an accident about 15 years ago. If memory serves me correct, one car collided with another. Maybey that has something to do with it?
Pepsi Max: Big One first opened in 1994 as part of the year of the Rollercoaster. At the time of opening, the ride was the world's tallest and fastest rollercoaster! Now these days it hold no records at all; opened for fourteen years the ride has since had it's title of Europes tallest and fastest pinched from it's hands with the opening of Stealth at Thorpe Park.
The ride IS long and there was an accident on this ride; since then only two trains have been seen in oporation...
... I am almost 100% sure that this was the cause. I can remember our neighbours talking about the crash and saying how the coaster only now oporates two trains. Lets hope something like this does not happen again!
