You know what I find funny? I have heard of "Breaking Bad" but I don't really give a fuck. because I heard of this song from a free iTunes download for my damn ipod touch.
@PsychadelicElephant it doesnt...the system is where the lie is. the system divides and god multiplies. folks aint be reading the bible. there is only two things that can be found...god and destruction..you find destruction when you search for happiness, self worth, independence, and power.you find god when give away your happiness selth worth, independance and power.cause life works in reverse. why you think people are still searching for something they always had, search and it will flea from you.
just because you say something doesnt it mean its right u know, nature is my god, and I belive religion is bullshit, I belive the the sick society we live in is bullshit aswell, over n out
@PsychadelicElephant well in that case whats the point in anybody saying anything? there is a law to life and you were blessed you heard it from me..good luck with using it or not :) two things to find in life..god and destruction, its the code the yin yang.everyone in society goes by the gaining of power, self worth , independence, popularity ect and all they find is destruction(plastic surgery, botox, greed, and dividing)the true way to receive these is to give them away. over and out :)
Who cares who babdwagons? The artist Wants more hits, he's got bills to pay, and mouth to feed. You aren't better because you randomly came across him.
It is important to fully understand the words properly to this completely beautiful song that apparently can be not too hard for some people to confuse with similarly sounding yet completely different with opposite meaning words that totally ruin it's awesome message so here you all go who might have it wrong...
Alexander Ebert Truth (Song) Lyrics: Truth The truth is that I never shook my shadow Every day it's trying to trick me into doing battle Calling out "faker" only get me rattled Want to pull me back behind the fence with the [cattle] Building your [lenses] Digging your trenches Put me on the front line Leave me with a dumb mind With no defenses But your defenses If you can't stand to feel the pain then you are senseless
I don't understand why people get mad when they see something like "Breaking Bad brought me here!" So what if these people (myself included) found out about this song through a television show. Now more people know about this song. That's a good thing last time I checked.
@TomVeliotis I'm not getting mad at all dude, if anything I find it interesting. But my point is simply this: This song is bigger and means more than just an appearance on a (obviously awesome) TV show. But is that where people are both starting and ending with it?
@Graphrie why the false dichotomy? i mean teh people making the show mayb realized an awesome song. Plus he does literlaly slit a throat and take a bath in blood. the episode is built around song lol
@Graphrie Well I never heard of this dude or this song till the show and I'm here digging his music and wanting more... Isnt that why it was on the show to begin with? Promotion. Also in the end people are hearing the lyrics and realizing its much more than a song on some show. Typical hipster- "I liked this guy before his song was on the show" Yea yea yea your'e cool... Wanna cookie, Or is that too mainstream for ya???
I found this genius by watching Breaking Bad, we all find music in some way or another. Not a single person can say that they just had an idea to type "Artist: Song" into their searchbar, because that would make them a liar. Music is all about how you feel about it, i bet thousands of people heard this song, and didnt search it... Why because they didnt like the song. I came to listen to this song because i liked how it sounded. This aint about who found it first, this is about the music.
A TV episode's ending song may or may not have instigated the reason why you are now here listening to it again.
Fact remains you must've liked it. I would like to think that you're all scrolling through the right hand side and clicking on more of Alexander's songs. The song's not about, nor for Breaking Bad.
It is, infact, about truth.
Be truthful to yourself and keep searching still for more awesome music - his, mine - whoever's.
@Graphrie People listen to this song because it's an awesome song. I'm a die hard Breaking Bad fan, and the show does an amazing job of finding under the radar songs. Listening to the lyrics obviously explain the song's meaning. But if you don't watch Breaking Bad, then you don't understand how vital the music they use is to the fans.
@BB13131313 - Yeah, that's cool too. I would suspect that Breaking Bad must be a pretty powerful show and naturally would be using music that sits with that. And also, I am all too fully aware of how vital music is to complement not only a fictional TV show, but actually the soundtrack to life itself.
I'm also appreciative of any show or movie or whatever that finds true and unique under the radar songs.
My point what is not being heard, is that most of the comments are about a TV show
@BB13131313 (....cont) and not the actual song itself. Yes. Breaking Bad is awesome. The song uplifted you at the end of the awesome show. I truly think that is awesome - music in the right spot with the right visuals is so enlightening.
Is no one able to separate for one brief moment though, the song between Breaking Bad at all? It would just concern me if no-one's looking further into it, and Alexander's other stuff. I just hope everyone is doing that. Be a damn shame if you're not.
@Graphrie Anyone who appreciates music would check out more of his music. But BrBa fans are fanatics, so expect to see comments about BrBa non-stop forever. You should watch all 4 seasons of BrBa and you will understand..
@Graphrie But I do understand how you can be annoyed. It's hard to love an artist or specific song, and then watch everyone jump on the bandwagon after a show, while you've genuinely cared for the artist for awhile.
@DaTokeprod i never heard of breaking bad, and that's not really the point I guess. this is an amazing artist and an amazing song, that's the point. Breaking Bad really has nothing to do with the amazingness of this song or with this song at all actually. just happens to be on a season finale of some kind. And you're implying that this song is good because of breaking bad or that it exists because of breaking bad, and that, well that makes no sense at all. it's really an irrelevant comment.
wow, i just watched breaking bad from the beginning to present in the past month or so and i do not remember this song being in it. i need to stop smoking so much pot. thumbs up if you smoke too much or if your friend brought you here.

I know what you mean, i hate when other people start listening to songs i found long ago! Which is why I only listen to songs that haven't even come out yet, that way i'm sure to remain a really unique, artist type (that actually practices no form of art) snowflake. Sometime's I like to go on Pandora just so I can suggest bands it might like that it has never heard of. But seriously, get off your pompous hipster high horse, music is meant to be shared with the world.
Don't you hate it when you find a song and you love it. And than a stupid TV Show decides to use it and one of a sudden 100.000 lemmings start loving it as well ... but for the wrong reason.
@Pied1914 come on... seriously, so music is only good if only hundreds people know about it. I don't know how you can like a song for the wrong reason. it doesnt matter how anybody hears a song. all that matters is that they like it.....silly hipster
whats to hate bout this... does this mean your apart of an elite group now coz u heard of this artist way before this tv show? am sure this musician would be pleased his music is reaching a wider audience! shut it and enjoy with the rest of us.
@Pied1914 Do you not just think that the publicity the song got from the TV simply allowed for it to be heard by the masses, who in turn, like yourself, also just happened to think that it's a a great piece of music?
I uploaded this video months ago - I've never even seen Breaking Bad. I saw a review of this album on Rolling Stone online and went checked out Alexander... Whether or not you find music in this fashion, or hear something on a TV programme, or even hear it in an elevator - if you love it, then you love it. It's come to your ears via somewhere. The way it came to your ears is irrelevent. The fact that you heard it is the important thing. Cheers xx
@Graphrie Well, I thank both you and Breaking Bad for exposing me to this then. The song was used in a fashion that caught me emotionally on the show, and it still does with it's powerful lyrics.
I'm over the newly blossoming arguements about how a particular artist is discovered. I think it is more important that an individual person recognized something they liked enough to hunt for it. Does buried treasure lose its luster if you used a map to find it? I think not, but that's just me.
@MrAaronreina Were on the same page & I never pieced it together like that. It was one of my favorite songs but if it actually says that then I'll have to find a new favorite song :(
Shit, I just realized I'm a goddamn hipster. If it takes a TV show to make people to listen to Ebert, we have a problem. You people who came here from BrBa, research Alexander Ebert, who he is, where he came from, and what he's doing. Claim this music for yourself rather than taking what popular culture gives you.
@sbchapin90 So what you are saying is it's bad thing that people find beautiful music through random media like tv shows? I don't understand your logic.
@sbchapin90 You're an idiot, shut up. Just shut up. If people can find this guy's music at all and end up enjoying it, then it shouldn't matter how they found it.
People like you shouldn't exist. You're utterly worthless.
You know what I find funny? I have heard of "Breaking Bad" but I don't really give a fuck. because I heard of this song from a free iTunes download for my damn ipod touch.

On the lyric sites it says "every lie in this world comes from dividing" but it sounds to me like "every lie in this world comes from the bible" :o

@missbree2242 Exactly What I was thinking....and that would make sense because he also later says, "Have faith in myself."
I was kinda wondering about that. If that is what he really said then I would have to not really like the message of the song.

@MrAaronreina Were on the same page & I never pieced it together like that. It was one of my favorite songs but if it actually says that then I'll have to find a new favorite song :(
missbree2242 7 months ago
@missbree2242 maybe that was the original lyric and was changed for the mass media

I came here because it's Alexander Ebert.

@sbchapin90 So what you are saying is it's bad thing that people find beautiful music through random media like tv shows? I don't understand your logic.
Koopa3000 7 months ago
@Koopa3000 I'ts a bad thing when music this good need to be on a TV show to make it popular. It should be popular to begin with.
sbchapin90 7 months ago
@sbchapin90 You're an idiot, shut up. Just shut up. If people can find this guy's music at all and end up enjoying it, then it shouldn't matter how they found it.
People like you shouldn't exist. You're utterly worthless.
