ive never caught a white fish but i've cought alot of trout in the rockies but never even seen a mountain whitefish never caught a lake whitefish

I love fly fishing for whitefish in mountain streams during the winter. They are great fighters -- they dive hard and pull like crazy. Sure, they're kinda ugly, and I don't eat them, but they eat the same things that trout do. Definitely not a trashfish.

caught my first mountain whitefish today at weber river in utah. nasty ass looking fish. landed on plastic minnow carolina rig. a fish is a fish i guess...

I fish for whitefish but not rocky mountain. I live in michigan where alot of people ice fish for them. They have been coming into shallow water which is unusual since they
hang in deeper water. I think they have been coming into shallow water to eat gobys and perch. Anyways they are great to eat.

nice i fish for rainbows and bulls in b.c canada and i get the odd whitefish great fish
