  • SWEET!!

  • This is awesome, but I would be so afraid of damaging my bow I'm not sure I could do it.

  • Me either-if I could do it, it would be with a cheap bow to be on the safe side, like Ian Cooper uses in his video of a similar piece. Quite terrific playing also, I would say.

  • great video. I have a four string joe video up on youtube also - look for the "Back and Blue Bottom" video under the user name - snorkelbda03

  • The frog drops, but the hair is still attached to it.

  • did the frog drop off at the end of the video?

  • @jin12345678 - No, in order for him to play like that, the frog must be detached from the bow and held in the fingers of the bow-hand. He simply lets go of the frog at the end to release the bow from the violin.

  • Great! Do you have any further informations about this piece? Especially if there is any sheet music of it? We had a russian concertmaster who used to play this, but he didn´t even know the title - which btw doesn´t give any result when you google....

  • Unfortunately, I don't have any more info on he piece or any sheet music. BTW, if it's ok to ask, who is the Concertmaster you mentioned?

  • His name is Alexander Labko - there are recordings of the Medtner-Sonatas on youtube...

  • Thanks!

  • hej, that´s amazing! do you know the name of that piece??

  • Glad you liked it! Mr. Shtern told me it is called "George of Dinky Jazz". He learned it from violinist Emil Bruh (sounds like Bree) in Russia in 1940.
