  • So good to find about Nioxin vitamins.. I was worried they are pretty much my last hope :( I've got thyroid issues and my hair is falling out like crazy.. even with meds and letting my hair go curly it's just ugh.. makes me wanna cry. I hope these thicken up my hair.

  • You have such a postive, uplifting and humorous attitude. Thanks for sharing your hair journey. I really enjoyed it. It is great to see people not take themselves to seriously. :)

  • out of state. With gas prices so high it is a drag to go all the way to KS to wash my hair or to Cinn but I did..so it still started falling out. I think it is the water, the air and the damn food here, yall. This time again my hair was almost to my waist--but I had to get a lot cut off due to getting it relaxed. Now.. I am here for a while and I can't keep going out of state --someone recommended biotin and another nioxin--but I was in the pharm industry so worry about long term effects

  • Part 2 hair ended up just to my neck (yeah broke off like crazy) by then I was getting relaxers which made it all worse. I moved to Cinn for the summer and when I came back in the fall my hair was to my shoulder blades- this was before weave so there was no question that was my own hair. I rocked that for about 2 months then all over again it all started breaking. I thought is was the water. So this time when I returned (not my fault--job transfer) I made plans to only wash my hair

  • I always had waist length hair--EXCEPT every time I lived in Indiana. I came to that state and had hair to my waist--within 6 months was to my shoulders and breaking off--at the time I had no relaxer just a pressing--but something in their water just does not like most black hair. AT salons they can make it look nice with product but it just did not grow but here is the kicker...whenever I left the state, my hair would just grow like crazy. I could be gone just 2 months and at one point my

  • Yes girl love your personality! Thanks for sharing God Bless!

  • Has anyone tried the hairfinity vitamins while on there hair journey ?

  • I wish I had seen this video before I started texlaxing. That along with birth control pills broke my hair off...My hair was down my back. I lost so much that people were asking if I got it cut. You live and you learn. For me, its simple, stay relaxed or go full blown natural. Its def going to take some time. No more cuts for me either. I got Ovationcell therapy and Im thinkin about that Morroccan oil.

  • funky dope style..80s'! lol but you're the reason I'm going to try Nioxin

  • I know this video is a year old but girl....TY...Tonight I sure need encouragment! Subbed!

  • I am really fustrated I have had natural hair my whole life, my routine was(up until in 5th grade)wake up go downstairs mom rebraids my(natural)hair and I leave for school my hair was thick as the time progressed I had still wore braids but I didn't have the time to redo them every day because of more schoolwork.I am currently a 9th grader and wear braids every week and its annoying cause its not growing,my hair thinned out from the time it was in 5th and now braid it once a week, what can i do?

  • I know this vid is a year old, but it was very inspiring for me. Thank you so much for sharing your journey. I feel so frustrated with my hair! I tried texlaxing, FAIL...to much breakage. Tried super long stretches....FAIL...unless I wear braids. I'm still trying to figure out what my hair loves and hates. I hate seeing my hair in the comb, on the floor, and on my shirt. No more texlaxing and no more long stretches for me. :/

  • You're 30? You look younger ;L

  • those Nioxion vitamins really grows hair long and thick.

  • Hi girl how long do you stretch your relaxers? I stretch for 14 to 16 weeks protective hair style is the key and moisturize and seal daily.

  • I LOVE BOBBI BOSS HAIR TOO.

  • where can i get a shirt like that, or did u make it? i am om my hair journey as well

  • i loved it finally one thatt is very detailed

  • I love all your videos. Your hair is so pretty. I want to get a sew in, but I am scared cause I don't want my hair to come out or get matted underneath. How do you do your sew-ins and what type of hair do u use?

  • I'm just starting to transition and just want to say Thank You so much for being HONEST!

  • hahaa you hav a great sense of humor..I enjoyed this video thank you

  • where did you get t-shirt from 2.16 from???

  • You are so encouraging and I just wanted to say thank you. Your vids are real and I appreciate that!

  • I love ur journey and your honesty

  • u r too funny "rats been chew it"

    ur hair is beautiful

  • where did u get the shirt

  • Great vid!

  • Where did you get your nioxin vitamins from ?

  • what song is that for the in and outro ....

  • you do an EXCELLENT job with those sew-ins!! I'm definitely gonna see if I can too. They look great. If you hadn't said anything I would've thought that was your hair.

  • @hwiley09 And I liked this video because you showed all the ups and downs and didn't sugar coat it.

  • Enjoyed your video...you rock!!!

  • Are you still using Nioxin vitamins? If so, how do you like them? If not, why did you stop taking them? Did they have any weight gain/other side effects? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks

  • I am so glad you made this video because it seems like sometimes when you dont see length it means you're failing at your hair journey because the ladies on youtube seemed to retain length instantly, and I recently decided to stop texlaxing my hair, but I'm just happy to see a hair journey like mine and it does inspire me to keep going...

  • I need those shirts!!!! where did yo get those shirts im staring a hair journey and i need those!!

  • This video is encouraging for those who have had setbacks. I have only went from a little past shoulder length to grazing bra strap in a year. I had to cut off about 4 inches of damaged ends from heat styling.

  • lol ur so silly <33 "you know i looked a little good" Girl i couldnt even guess you looked 30 u look 22 honestly.

  • i m telling u guys go and buy that nioxin vitamins cuz few months back i was losing my hair like crazy ..caant explain my pain but since i started taking these no more hair loss no more hair loss give it a try ;)

  • What does texlax mean?

  • WHERE CAN YOU GET THE VITAMINS?????????????

  • OMG IM SO GLAS I RAN ACROSS THIS VIDEO I WAS HAVING A NHF(NATURAL HAIR FIT) TODAY AND I WAS WONDERING ABOUT THE WEAVES AND BRAIDS

  • great video!

  • You are too funny thanks for the video and I bidt you sucess on your hair journey. : )

  • Aww...a very encouraging video! Love your personality and your fashion sense too! HHG! ~Tinker Bell (KISS)/Tink (BHM)

  • I love you for this video....actually seeing ur ups and dwn..and

U staying up..so happy for you

Can't wait for my progress....it's in the works

  • Thanks for sharing your hair journey. I just started wearing sew-ins at the end of 2010 and I love it. I wear Virgin Remy (which is expensive), but I take it out, wash it, and let it air dry. I also use an olive oil based product called Wild Grow, which keeps my hair moisturized while I have my sew-in in. The only down side is that the weave soaks up the oil, so I have the wash the weave every week. I recently found out about Nioxin and heard/ seen great things. I just order 2 bottles yesterday.

  • @Tusweet08 Let me add that I reuse the hair after I wash it, because I don't think I made that clear in my previous comment. I have seen great results in my coworkers hair after she has been using Nioxin. I think she just takes the pills though. I can't wait to try them. You have given me hope. Thanks again!

  • I am currently relaxed I am thinking about starting at fresh and chopping off the dead ends. I love your hair its so thick and not flat. How much of the nioxin vitamins do you take.

  • thanks for sharing, i enjoyed your testimony!!

  • girl me too! i hate all those protective styles except the occasional bun=)

  • I'm on my hair journey now so I really appreciate your video! I got the nioxin!

  • Ur video was very informative ...I must say u have the best hair journey video by far!!!

  • I love Amerie! Is she mixed and is that her real hair?

  • Amen sis!!! I love your channel!! You have encouraged me today okay!! You don't see too many channels posting their setbacks, and for that I am greatly appreciative, because I've had a few myself, and you have just inspired me not to give up! Can you be my new hair buddy? LOL

  • Is nioxin really good for your hair growth ? :)

  • Hey thanks so much for your kind words!! I decided to go ahead and bc. No more breaking and splitting hair. :) you can find me on kiss. Im Shavonne Rian

  • thanks so much for this! you have no idea how 5 months later this video has been such a blessing to watch today! u were so encouraging in this video! im not sure if u even realized it or not LOL! ive been on youtube daily since march(started hair journey) checking out all of the hair journey pages! and this is my first subscription! very informative and most importantly extremely real! thanks again! ur so beautiful! looking forward to checking out your other videos!

  • @allabtme40 WOW thank you soo so soo much for the kind words, I am in the process of setting up shop again to make videos. I'm moving in my new place so that is why I've been away. When I made my video I just wanted to represent the woman that basically does not have it all figured out yet. I think ppl need to know that they are not alone and not everybody "get's it" right away. So many videos only show the journey AFTER the goal length has been achieved. I wanted you guys 2 be there B4. :)

  • What kind of relaxer so u use on your hair?

  • @panther287 hi there, I use motions but the next time I relax I'm going to try the Creme of Nature Argan Oil relaxer :)

  • great video...keep them coming

  • Thanks, I have had a ton of setbacks and I thanks you for speaking to my problem. I am at shoulder length for the first time in years. My goal is MBL.

  • @SuperPhdiva Stick with it! I'm going to keep going until I reach my goal, I'll struggle to get there but it will be worth it I think :) Let's do it together, keep each other encouraged :)

  • luv ur comments on the 30th bday!

  • @xelesse 30 is WHATS UP! LOL!

  • I REALLY LIKED YOUR VIDEOS, ITS DIFF AND VERY INSPIRATIONAL! HHJ

  • I love the video because we all do have our testimonies and hair issues, mine is lack of moisture and wearing individual braids too long coupled with stress from school. We'll see where my progress is 7 months from now and hopefully my new regimen works and if not back to square one. :-)

  • Hey where oh where did yuh get your hair length shitrts.!!??? I REALLY WANT ONE HEHE.. =)

  • "look at that left side ! HELP LORD HELP ! " hilarious .. love the character yu added to the video

  • wow ur hair looks really beautiful!! :))

I'm stretching too! 2 months already! but nxt week i'm gonna relax my hair! What I want to ask u is that: Is 2 months stretching okay? or is that too early?

Because I like my hair tied up in a ponytail and after months i gets hard/rough to tie my hair coz of the curls/new growth!

I just want your opinion please..

  • @miss212AUT thank you so much!!! I think 2 months (8 weeks) is fine. I started off by stretching 8 weeks and now I can do 12 but typically no more than that unless I'm in a sew-in. Best of luck to you :)

  • @virtuousathena Thanks ! :))

  • I absolutely loved this video! U showed ur ups n downs which helped me out because im goin through it lol! Love it!!!! Im definitely subscribing

  • I needed this pick me up. Lost so much of my hair and been fighting to get it back. You encouraged me to not give up and stick with it. Btw you are beautiful and so is your hair. Keep up the good work. Off to get those vitamins. lol

  • You looked amazing in that dirty 30 photoshoot. You don't look a day older than 25 though

  • Girrrrl!!! U Are toooo cute.... Where did u get that length check shirt.

  • @tiamareea thank you! I got it at maneandchic.spreadshirt. com

  • where do you get those shirts! :O

  • @Ang3licRose thank you! I got it at maneandchic.spreadshirt. com

  • lol i LOVE your southern accent :-)

  • what relaxer do you use - ?

  • @pink32smooches I use Motions but I'm going to give ORS Olive Oil a try the next time :)

  • @virtuousathena that one is really gud my mom did that one to mii hair nd it thickened out myy hair cuzz i used to hve thin hair

  • I just found your channel and I love it. You are so funny and I can def relate to your hair journey. I just started taking nioxin about 3 wks ago and I can feel a lil bit of new growth already and that never happens . I'm def a slow grower..anyways I just wanted to say keep up the good work and hhg..I subbed

  • Love your video. Very inspring. Thanks for sharing.

  • how do you care for your hair with a sew-in?

  • That hair growth is amazing and the t-shirt lol was sick, every picture od you was beautiful. Did you also sing the intro tune sounds good anyway keep it up :)

  • @insertyourquarters GIRL I WISH THAT WAS ME SINGING! HAHAHA No that is an early recording from Jazmine Sullivan before she got her record deal. I would like to think that I'm in the same voice genre as Jazmine though :)

  • Girl that orange goddess dress looked fab on u. Wow! Wait! WAIT! I'm still watchin vid while i type....did u just say 30th Bday? what?! Okay, what's ur secret. I'm older, but ur skin is so youthful (trust me it's a compliment Sista ).

  • @VeryHappy2bMe hahahaha thank you!!!!!!!! I drink a lot of water and take my vitamins. I use products that have high moisturizing content and shea butter and in them like the Aveeno body wash and lotion line. I also like to use Ambi products on my face. Recently I started making my own shea butter mix, like in the last 4 months or so and I looooove it :)

  • Ohh amerie is my hair inspiration, I always call her my sister because my nieces think I resemble her........Good luck I'm in it with you Bra strap length for Aug 2012 for me I plan to be at APL by the end of 2011, thanks for the motivation

  • I luv this video it is so inspiring.......I just subbed and where did you get the blue length check shirt, I so need one because I'm on my hair journey since Oct 8, 2010......Great video!!!

  • Hello, I just subscribed to your channel! I also texlax and wear sew-ins often, so I felt that following your channel is a good fit for my hair journey. I wanted to know if you braid your sides with the sew-in? If not, do your sides break off often when left out?

  • very inspiring and you look dam good for thirty

  • I really enjoyed this. Keep up the great work!!

  • Girl! You know that's the real! My journey has been full of all of that plus some. My personal experience with sew ins...hair can't and won't survive for long once you take out the weave. I did sew ins from I was 18 until I was 37. I never thought my hair could survive without it. Since stopping sew ins, I've noticed a big difference in my hair's stamina. Youtube hair videos helped me tremendously, what a journey it has been. Major set back with shedding from my crown..Big Chop. Back on track.

  • I really, really liked this video.Very Very encouraging. I am going to do some research on that Nioxin vitamin...Great Tip!!!!!

  • where can i get one of those shirts???

  • Those beautiful cheek bones!!!! Hatin' hard over here ;-)

  • I love it!!! I have been doing my hair journey for a year now (started in January 2010) & I am amazed at how much my hair has grown. I started out using Aphogee which helped a little as far as health wise was concerned, but it was not growing like I wanted. So after 6 months of that use, I used Nu-Gro products for the other half of the year and my hair has grown like crazy! I am now using Nioxin products to build the thickness & love it! Thanx for sharing...I am now a follower!

  • i like how you said you "installed" the sew in.....LOL!!! GREAT VIDEO LOVE YOUR HAIR!!!!!

  • This video was so inspiring for me. You did an excellent job showing your progress over the months. I just placed an order for the Nioxin Intensive Therapy Recharging Complex thru Amazon just now. Hope it works! =)

  • Love the vid! Great progress. Your hair is beautiful. I'm really thinking about doing sew-ins as a protective style because bunning everyday is not cute :/

Was there any specific vid on youtube that helped you learn to do self-sew-ins that you would like to share?

  • @sheistopclass Hi there, thanks for subbing :) There was not one video in particular, I watched dozens of videos to see what all of them had in common before attempting to do it myself. Even after you do your own sew-in you learn different braiding patterns and ways to place the tracks according to your own preference on style and head shape. :)

  • i really believe this my same issues , i thank you for making this video , i order my Nioxin Intensive Therapy Recharging Complex 2days ago and i have cornrows and i following your channel . i will get sewin after since i love to have my hair down also . Finally someone tells the truth about up and downs of the hair growing process ... Thank you again for being real, much appreciated .

  • Thank you for sharing your journey! I am def going to look into Nioxin pills. Can you do a regimen video?

  • thanks for the info about the vitamins, and once again glad to see you back. GOD BLESS.

  • Hey girl!!! Your sew ins are the BOMMBBBB!!! Could you please make a video on how you do your sew ins? I am learning how to braid to the scalp. Hopefully, I can catch on. :) You have inspired me to get on a hair journey.

  • @MSBABYGIRL80 yes, I got some pictures from the last time I had an install but I will have to wait until my next install to actually make a video, and that wont be until the end of march beginning of april. I'm still going to make a video that's called "all about my sew-in" so keep an eye out and thanks for watching :)

  • Welcome back sis! I'm loving this video! Been looking for inspiration on caring for my relaxed hair, then *BAM* there you go lol! Cant wait for whats to come!

  • @TwinGodesses dont you just love it when that happens? Like the very think you need will just come from no where hahahaha.

  • Okay, I have two questions... What is texlaxing? Also, maybe I missed it, but where did you get the vitamins?

  • @atlmiss08 Nioxin Intensive Therapy Recharging Complex 90 Caplets---hi there I get the ones that are on the nioxin website, they are in a white bottle with a blue circle graphic on the front. I've seen the other bottle with the black label and I dont trust it because that is not on the website. I get mine from Amazon because they are SO cheap! You would pay almost double in the retail stores. Let me know how the work 4 u. FYI you need to use them for at least 30 days to see results IMO.

  • @atlmiss08 I'm going to talk all about texlaxing in an upcoming video called Q&A thanks for asking. In a nutshell texlaxing is when you leave a relaxer on your hair for a short amount of time to just loosen the curl pattern. In essence you are underprocessing your hair and not getting it bone straight. I dont personally like this method and I will talk about it in the upcoming vid. Thanks for asking :)

  • Hey Honey, I love how you did this video! Its so well put together and I am going to have to get on your level on day. Your hair is gorgeous and I can not wait to see more hair video:-)

  • @renee304 YAY so glad you stopped by girl! I'm tryna get my tresses down my back like you darlin! hahaha

  • So HAPPY to see you back. Thanks for the video!!! You had me cracking up about that rat comment for your Feb.09 pic, Lmbo. Girl, I'm gonna have to check on that Nioxin.

  • Thanks!!! Love your videos. Can you please do one on your hair products you use,and one on how you do your sew-ins please.

    Thanks

  • nice vid

  • Your hair is gorgeous!!! :) Thanks for posting this video!

    What does texlaxed mean??

  • Hey lady! your hair is looking Lovely! Great video you have made some awesome progress and for that you should be proud. This hair journey is ALL about learning and applying what we have learned so that it will benefit our hair and the health of it. Keep up the great work sis thanks for sharing.

You can make a lil change from doing the sew ins too LOL, they are flawless.

  • @missthis897 Hey girl!!! you know you right about that lil change on the side though! hahaha My problem is that I'm slow :( So I need to practice doing it faster before I do someone else. Thanks for the kind words as well :)

  • what type of vitamins are they, for the hair, for your bones, imean what part of the body is it geared to? your hair is gorgeous and where doyou purchase the vitamins

  • @bmwalker06 Amen to that and thank you :)

  • WHERE DO U PURCHASE THOSE PILLS? BTW I LOVE THE VID, IVE HAD A ROUGH HAIR JOURNEY AS WELL!

  • @ChocolateDiva05 Nioxin Intensive Therapy Recharging Complex 90 Caplets---hi there I get the ones that are on the nioxin website, they are in a white bottle with a blue circle graphic on the front. • @MyPureBeauty10 ooooh chile you just made my day, thanks :D

  • Great video! I'm natural but I can definitely relate with the ups and down of the "journey". I'm like you, I like to wear my hair out but I can't risk losing what I'm grown out so I find that wigs( preferably lace fronts) work for me like the sew in's work for you.

  • @ruralglamour I subbed!!! :)

  • @virtuousathena thanks!!! yay!!

  • Thank you so much for this video. Its soooo refreshing to know that I am NOT the only one who HATES protective styles! Your hair is looking good! Keep up the great work and welcome back!!!

  • @erica0122 girl if it was not for sew-ins I would be miserable! hahaha

  • @scsexybbw *blushing* hey thanks!

  • I must try those vitamins. Great vid!

  • I liked watching your video it made me feel better. I keep thinking my hair is growing slow and now this is making me want to just wait it out and not stress about it. My hair feels healthier now that I'm taking vitamins but not as long as I would like it.
