  • Why?! Malvinas islands are so precious to the British! What is the true "owner." If it exists!

  • WTH is there so many dislikes?

  • it would be great if she return and deport all niggers from britain

  • @Trickroad ....K

  • Cunt cunt cunt... did I mention she's a cunt?

  • oh my GOD she is the devil.....

  • The fact that a film has been made about this monstrosity of a human being makes me want to vomit.

  • @CaptainCroak you think she was a bad person ?

  • I feel like now everytime a biopic is released you have two scenarios : The guy is a hero ? Let's talk about his dark side. The guy is a vilain ? Let's talk about how he suffered and struggled in life, see if we can find any redeeming qualities. I get it. You want to be subtle, you don't want your movie to be "cliché". Alright. But Thatcher ? Seriously ? That woman is PURE EVIL ! Think about all those people who don't have a clue what a monster she is ! Are they gonna look up to her now ?!

  • Hate her as Margaret. Her accent is so off. Not a fan.

  • MERYLLLLLLLLLLL OMFG! U R SOOOO GOOOD DAMNNN YOU!!! YOU ARE SUCH A GOOD ACTRESS

  • she reminds me at professor umbridge (1:00)

  • hate

  • Complete rubbish film

  • CUNT enough said

  • hate that bitch (Thatcher), not the actress. The Iron Lady???????? WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "the soulless and cruel lady" Bravo hollywood!!!!!!!!

  • una pelicula sobre la impunidad, UNA VERGUENZA

  • Meryl Streep did not live in Barnsley throughout the 1980s.

  • Meryl Streep is great, but why did they make a movie about that whorebag Maggie?? Just when the world was glad she was gone. They make a movie about the cunt. What's next, a movie about Reagan??? I really really REALLY hope not!

  • Why was this film made? Why would anyone go and see it? This is another "Iris" only this one shows how a deteriorating old woman fucked up the UK.

  • what a terrible person hollywood should make a movie on hitler and bloody mary

  • obama and bush did a good job of getting rid of middle class as well

  • If there are any brits out there who could enlighten me, is thatcher JK Rowlings inspiration for the death eater Dolores Umbridge? Or is there a real life british politician who fits that role better?

  • i mean john carpenter's The Thing - not thatcher LOL comment at

  • the thing was a remake. i wanted a sequel!!!!!!!!!!

  • oh, and the movie was too slowwwwwwwwwww

  • i thought i was listening to amer. republicans. it annoyed me

  • Fucking Whore!

  • one of the greatest prime ministers

  • @Warcheiftin dont thibk so mate she sold off most things that are british also she made the rich richer and the poor poorer

  • Fuck this cheap and hopeless movie trying to make the BITCH look as a godess!

  • Again hollywood screwing up about foreign policy. What's next... Dick Cheney is a good guy?

  • Last thing I want to see is a film about that fecking bitch.

  • a film about an evil bitch who started the country on the road to ruin? nice one hollywood

  • @brisingerfaelorn Pretty much, but the acting was good anyway.

  • @brisingerfaelorn So the three day week, streets looking like a landfill sight and electrical powercuts was the land of Utopia? How wrong everyone was back then

  • @brisingerfaelorn can't understand it either and I'm german, but why they did it? Well to glorify her and since the current government is also coservative? They do it so nobody looks to hard where the current problems come from!

  • @LupusAries People voted Tory at the last election not because they thought Cameron was good but it was because the Gordon Brown was the most shit Prime Minister this country has ever seen .Economy and immigration was out of control under this useless moron. The main agenda at the last election was to kick Brown out. Most Tories hate Cameron and many don't like Thatcher either. Read the book "Gordon is a moron" by Vernon Coleman and you will understand how really shit Brown was.

  • a Lodi whahahaha!

  • Say i'm a frenchman and i don't know who Thatcher is cause i'm also 16. What did she do (in the most neutral way possible plz)?

  • @MrHerecomesjohnny She was a conservative leader in the UK. Leftists hate her. Conservatives adore her. Leftists accuse her of dismantling unions, workers rights, and weakening social equality in the UK. Conservatives praise her for restoring economic prosperity, defending UK territory, and correcting an unsustainable government union system.

I side with the Conservatives but if you're looking for a liberal's opinion on her be careful. When I said they hate her, I really meant it.

  • @WebPope oh. And what do english people think about the 'i want my money back' thing?

  • @MrHerecomesjohnny I don't understand the question. Could you provide context?

  • @WebPope well when the U.K ordered the European Union to reimburse their credits given, with Thatcher proclaming "I want my money back". Even in France this phrase got spread all around.

  • @MrHerecomesjohnny I'm not familiar with that event. You'll have to ask someone more informed on the topic.

  • they look like they're just milking the king's speech

  • thatcher was great; thats why she was elected 3 times. Most of the moaners here werent even alive then and live in an imaginary world.

  • Iron Bitch... I hope you melt in hell with Reagan!!!

  • Its quite ironic that this is called the iron lady since there was noone to mine iron then

  • mal gusto hacer una película de esta vieja hija de mil putas,me cago en ella y en todos los ingleses cabrones ,fuck this goodamn old bitch and all those fucking english assholes thieves

  • @PitoTinto Oh shutup we taught you English you peasant

  • best movie ever

  • Who is this irritating Italian twat?

  • Nothing like how Thatcher actually was, what the fuck is this Hollywood bullshit about ?

  • damn, I was hoping for an Iron Man spin off

  • looking forward to the old witch snuffs it party will be on !!!!

  • This film is an injustice to all who died and suffered in the poverty caused by the conservative party between 1979-1990.

  • @TheIaindavidson well said, sad that some dickheads think she was great but the poor misguided fools are lapdogs to the capitalist machine, the Tory's love stupid working-class people... under pay them, let them buy council houses so they think they are moving up in the world, privatise their healthcare and then get the idiots to lose their lives in a war to keep the rich safe...

  • @TheIaindavidson You're just a pissed off leftist because she one 3 electrons in a row.

  • @rlmorgan95 Gaddafi was in power for 34 years.

  • O Margret Thatcher, the Iron Lady. We in America miss you dearly as do your people in the great land of the United Kingdom. We miss the days of Marget Thatchers courage and her partnership with our President Ronald Reagan which restored pride and honor to both of our country's.

  • @Sumoto999 Believe me lad, we don't miss her at all. I for one plan to be protesting her funeral, the day satan comes reclaim her.

  • @Sumoto999 To say that Margatet Thatcher and Ronald Reagan restored pride and honor, as well as ignoring their attempts to butcher the economy of their respected nations is a clear sign you did not live under either of them. One of the worst Prime Ministers and President in the history of the United Kingdom and the United States.

  • @dave19941000 well said.

  • @Sumoto999 You are giving Obama a hard time and the tories are back in the UK to finish her job and destroy the democracy in the UK. Restore Honor and Pride, they were fucking thieves and I wish they burn in hell forever and ever.

  • @meonlyuk what the fucks a faggot unionist ? Someone who wants to protect his livelihood by standing up to corporate and wealthy business men, someone that wants to retain dignity and a reasonable standard of living for his / her children by joining with his fellow working class colleagues to defend their right to a fair and legitimate wage for a decent days work, a person that feels honour in unity and brotherhood and wishes to avoid further exploitation ? This is a so called faggot is it ?

  • i seek pole shift survival group

  • @meonlyuk you sound like working class scum the the education background of a stuffed badger.

  • Oh my! The presenter is hot!

  • Margeret Thatcher really wasn't that conservative or that much of a radical. She increased government spending in almost all major departments except transportation and the military, used oil revenue from the North sea in order to offset tax cuts she introduced and closed many unviable government run industries that had no hope of ever turning a profit. Also claims that she destroyed the unions aren't really accurate. So can the right and left wing radicals calm down and take a deep breath.

  • @Kofiv2 Uhm, that's not what it says in the newspapers. Is that what it said in the movie? Well, ya know, it's a movie.

  • @meonlyuk and why do you hate her so much, because your a faggot unionist?

  • nane yutques Iron Lady hail lesque moryu nguyen teshifamensa deshque?

  • You all sound like bloody communist. None of you blokes know what hard work is. I am appalled and ashamed her own countrymen would insult this great leader. Margaret Thatcher is a lady and a legend.

  • @TonyRod7 Well said, not...... I nearly fell off my chair laughing...it is a sarcastic comment right ?? Thatch a legend my arse, a fuckin wealthy exploiter of the poor and a vile and twisted human being that will meet her maker very soon and atone for her sins against the weak, the poor and decent honourable working class people. Fellow working people that support her are very misguided and selfish to say the least !

  • Well mrs streep you have went well down in my opinion playing the role of that dirty tory bastard!

  • I have barely any knowledge as to what M. Thatcher did during her reign so can someone please reply clearly stating what she's done that's made people hate her so much?

  • My mum lost both of her parents when she was sixteen because doctors were not able to find the cancer in both their bodies because during thatcher's time as PM some of the hospital equipment was turned off. It is painful to think what my mum went through all by herself. So when i hear people talk about how great she was my stomach turns, i will always hate her because she destroyed my caring, loving mummy and i will never forgive her for that. RIP Granny and Grandad i would have loved you x

  • this film portrays Margret Thatcher under bad light particularly the dementia

  • @justicepartyuk @justicepartyuk GOOD...in reality she portrayed herself in a bad light... she didnt mind destroying the unions or putting millions out of work, she closed mines down and now we import coal from Poland at great expense. These were not the actions of a 'peoples politician' history will tell the true tale, unfortunately we now life in the crap she started, no real opposition just 21st century watered down right wing US style politics.

  • Comment removed

  • @Ollie10w - my thoughts exactly.

  • Can't wait for this movie to come! :)

  • The Lady was on a high wire. By 1982 she was down in the polls, way down. She was facing industrial anarchy from the miners and on the street. Hard Core Livingstone was across the Thames. The political threat was not really from Benn or Foot, but Dennis Healy who was electable hard and left, a different sort of socialist who believed in 98% tax. Argentina had struck at Port Stanley. The RAF and USN said she would lose every ship. She believed in her admiral and the RN and risked the death ride.

  • See how many dislikes this film got? Shows how there is likely to be a few empty seats in cinemas with this film. Yes it looks interesting, but she was a bitch who completely messed up the UK

  • @jacksite2007 as did callaghan... blair... brown.... cameron

  • @jacksite2007 - it's got a few more dislikes than likes. That's probably because most people, especially in the UK, hate Thatcher. It's not indicative of whether people will see the movie or not. You don't not go to a movie because you hate the main character. I don't.

I suspect a lot of people will go just to see Meryl Steep's performance. I am one of those people. I hate Thatcher, btw, but I know the difference between reality and taking creative license.

  • She is neither iron nor a lady. She killed health care, workers coal mines, railways. unemployment was 19% among whites! and she and Reagan supported apartheid S Africa. All needed reform not murder. Wasted money on the stupid falkland war, did she negotiate ? That Island costs the tax payer I million Pounds per person per year and the dame thing belong to Argentina anyways. The film may be interesting and Meryl is an great actress

  • @daskumarraj1 Negotiate with fascists? The Junta could of offered to take the matter to the International Court of Justice, but thought an illegal invasion was a better idea. Maybe you should do your research next time you moron.

  • Corruption & Greed are a sad part of human nature. It is this reason why wars, genocide and theft occur. Prior to Reagan Depression era laws made it against law for bank holding companies for owning other financial institutions. This must be restored, although given that Wall street controls

D.C this will be impossible. Sadly the last time we had such a large Banking Crisis in 1931 a major

World war happened. Food for thought

  • @douglaz74 there's no such thing as human nature, it's the system that corrupts, not the other way round

  • When Thatcher and Reagan deregulated the Financial Industry very greedy people

took advantage of it to abuse it! THAT IS WHY FINANCIAL REGULATION IS NEEDED!

We are feeling the effects of this deregulation in modern times with the Banking and financial crisis. The Democrats, Labour And Unions went far to the left in the 1980s and shooting themselves in the foot. We really need to reverse some of the Reagan & Thatcher mentality

  • @douglaz74

It's not that you need regulations, nor it is that you have unregulated financial industry. Somehow you have the worse of both worlds.

Unregulated financial industries with no accountability (socialized losses).

There are two solutions, either you regulate the banks, which of course doesn't work since large banks themselves write the regulations through lobbying.

Or stop socializing losses, and if banks want to be reckless, let them pay the price (no bailouts).

  • @bluesrockfan36

lobbying is the problem in fact is nothing more legalized bribery. We need Politicans to work for the consumer, which they have not been doing for decades. Wall Street took control of D.C and we see the results. Until the Depression era regulations are restored along with strengthened SEC we will be at the mercy of these financial crisises.

  • @douglaz74

Most of the political class live in a bubble of their own, without realizing the simplest needs of their constituents.

You can't blame wall street for being greedy and taking power... it's like blaming a dog for barking. You should focus your blame on government for allowing wall street to take power.

If you're interested in the subject check Occupy the Constitution bill

Bureaucratic regulations don't do anything, if you really want strict regulations the free market provides them.

  • Meryl Streep, I don't know you much but after seeing the Iron Lady trailer, I must tell you that you are the BEST female actress. Thatcher had strength and warned of the implications of the E.U before her resignation (but Mjor, Blair, Brown followed, ruining this country). Mrs. Thatcher did go too-radically on privatisation but it was miles better than socialism. I agree with FlipFlopsGalore. I'm 13 yrs learnt from my parents' experience (And they came from abroad, working class) about her.

  • rodreguezada - well I'm only fifteen, and history wasn't my strong point either. What I don't understand is; if people hated her so much why did they vote for her twice? And give her an 11 year rule? Also about the islands? Well I assume that there are some islands that are technically part of britain, and she felt that they needed to stay that way. Another thing, this woman did actually save Britain from some of its greatest imminent downfalls. I can only say this much because I have parents t

  • @FlipFlopsGalore123

People didn't hate her that much, just the left wing nutcases here who probably weren't even around in the 80s.

  • The Falklands are Argentine, and belong to the southern territory was invaded by the English shamelessly in 1833. it is time for them back. hopefully this movie Meryl Streep interpret this woman of iron as it was, a killer, a ruthless pirate and women. I hope not lie to us again as Evita, trying to destroy an image of a country that is and will be supportive, brother, beautiful, HUGE !!!.. and gives this little island girl envies the North.

  • @dmachaval stupid commie

  • Iron Penis - Trailer

  • She nailed the British accent as good as the Aussie accent as Lindy Chamberlain. I love this woman.

  • I suspect a lot of people hate M. Thatcher... but I love Meryl playing her... I love Meryl no matter who she's playing

  • @rodriguezada Far too many people have got it wrong about Maggie. She opened the flood gates for the freedom of action and choice - people abused this freedom. My parents tell me time and time again, mainly because they lived through it. No one who didn't live through the Thatcher era can say anything negative about the woman who supposedly 'buggered up Britain'

  • @FlipFlopsGalore123 well thanks for your reply... I'm 23 years old and lets say history was not my fav signature... i really don't know much about Thatcher... but I'm looking forward to know about her through this movie plus I'm a Meryl Streep Fan... and BTW... what can you tell me about those islands they're talking about? from your british perspective...

  • @IHarlequinity She was the ruination of our country. Many people are still living in the cesspools she created from bustking little towns. She deserves a terrible fate.

  • can't wait till she dies.

then i'll know that herself, milton friedman and ronald reagan are exactly where they deserve to be: in the coldest part of hell being gangbanged by beelzibub and his minions for all eternity!!!

  • @cheapy2006 too much hate in your words man! don't hate! love and be happy!

  • I like her.

  • they should make a film representing an entire generation she crippled and made poor with her parties policies hearing people praise thatcher because some div made a film about her fu thatcher and fu anyone who takes that film as history rather than sensationalist bs

  • This is a fact: she is more admired worldwide than she is in the UK. She helped win the Cold War, perhaps on the backs of Britain's poor?

  • I hope Emma's small role proves her to be a flexible actress with abilities that will outlast the likes of Judy Dench & Juliette Binoche, rather than indulge in Keira Knightly's flighty cynical nihilism.

  • Wow, a Leftist actress (the dominant kind) playing a Rightist* character. What fun! A good test of Streep's acting. Will she show passion for ideas in the right places, or subtly reduce the whole thing to a nudge nudge wink wink caricature.

(*Thatcher very nearly stood for Individual Rights, but not enough to get her out of the Right Wing classification.)

  • @RnBramwell Meryl can do ANYthing...seriously, anything... she's an actress...the greatest one in fact..

  • Comment removed

  • fuck you margaret tatcher,

  • @London2272 I never justified bailout and I strongly believe that it was a bad move. Bailout is not capitalism, it is corporatism. I do not believe in robbing one and giving it to other. Be it rich to poor or poor to rich. A person rich or poor should be treated the same, the government should not force any person to carry the burden of another. If you want to help, of course you can and it is q great thing and no one is stopping you. But being forced to help is no way better than robbery.

  • Her corner shop mentality helped get us in this mess. Our manufacturing base was destroyed and Public sector jobs had to fill in the void along with service industries whether British of foreign owned. So we end up with McDonalds, and other outlets helping make Britain as obese as Americans. She took the weekly milk deliveries to schools away when she was Head of education and as a result we have impoverished children with rickets never seen since the 1930's. She was a Devil in prada -ironic eh?

  • She was the right leader at the right time. She broke the HUGE amount of power the unions held. Remember, she was elected only because of the incompetence of the Labour Party to deal with the TUs. As a result, she basically put Britain on the map again, she made Britain the 4th largest economy in the world by getting rid of dying industries - British Steel, for example, was losing £1,000,000 A DAY before it was privatised! Not perfect, but still better than B-liar, Brown and Milibean.

  • @ToryBoy0910 So she put millions out of employment that broke our manufacturing base -the very base that this unelected coalition led my the Conservatives wants to get back to manufacturing! -like all Conservatives you have a selective memory. For all it's privatization, British Steel does not exist as owned by foreign investment and there is barely two foundries of size to continue to exist.

  • @Fartsurmonde It's not convenient for them to remember it cost the taxpayer 100 billion to close down the pits to punish the miners, and now they'd like to open the pits up again. It always costs the working class, what these tory shits do. Every time. 3 million nearly unemployed again, tax cuts for the rich, tax hikes for the poor, sevices flogged off and shut down. Takes you back, doesn't it?

  • @pezz12345 Yes it is an "inconvenient truth" that their party policies of the 1980's caused much of this strife -we have people who cannot afford their heating costs yet we have parasites in the Banking sector who have paid nothing to the present mess. Do not get me wrong though I am not a fan of the last regime either-also unelected and power passed by a handshake behind closed doors between Brown & Blair and Brown thieved from priv sector pens & now this Govt stealing Pub sector Pen

  • @Fartsurmonde I am no fan of New Labour either, who was the first person Blair invited to Number 10 after he got elected? This old battleaxe. He continued many of her regressive policies, robbing us of the hard-won things and the social changes for the better we foiught for in the 20th century. All anyone votes for iswhat they think is the best of two evils, and the media misiniformation is rife and conbfusing. We're all being had,but some people at least are waking up to that fact.

  • @pezz12345 most younger people don;t realise that she allied heavily with Reagan and US politics in general - shameful. She moved Britain as far right as she could destroyed the unions and her legacy lives with us now, real Labour and Socialism has died whilst greed and \Im alright Jack' mentality thrives...look at the country now, New Labour are not REAL Labour and this film is sick, doesn;t matter how impartial it s meant to be or the talent Meryll Streep has - she's a Yank for Chrisssake !!!

  • @SpitfirePunx Socialism isn't dead at all, you speak to young people and they believe in a fairer distribution of wealth, more democracy in the workplace, good NHS and social housing, an end to homelessness etc etc. What we need to do in the 21st century is see beyond the old labels, lose the dogma, end the factional, fragmented progressive divides and work to make a new, better society. I'm optimistic enough to believe this is coming, sooner than those "all right jacks" would like

  • @Fartsurmonde The manufacturing industry was already breaking, and would still be dying a slow and painful death if not for Thatcher. The coalition - elected with a MAJORITY of votes, may I add - wants more manufacturing, yes, but of skilled, light industry, not the heavy industry that was dying in the 70s. British Steel exists now in the form of Corus; so what? It's a more efficient business as a result.

  • @Fartsurmonde You also seem to forget that, in 1979, Britain ground to a halt because of the disproportionate power of the unions - there were coffins piling up because even gravediggers were striking! The lefties were too spineless to deal with the problem; Thatcher made it impossible for unions to do this on the same scale. It was because of the unions and the left-wing that the Conservatives won the 1979 election. Like all lefties, you have a very selective memory.
