some of the tools i have gotten into for timber work are the japanese dozuki/ryoba saws and for the log work an ink line (ajima brand) come in very handy especially on kerf cuts and other joints......ebay is a great place to pick up some awesome big slick chisels for the big work and smaller ones for a very reasonable price....have fun man
I was just thinking, "Man, that guard is gonna get in the way of the cut." I was thinking you'd come in from the other side if necessary, but then you pulled the tab and it came right up! Do most of those saws have that feature?
Just a quick question, Once you fell your lumber, do you let it stand and dry before you process it?? I know when using logs for building a log home you are suppose to let it dry for a season to prevent warping.
Looks like you just got REAL serious about cutting those timders! 'Cause thats one serious saw! LOL! Thanks for posting. Keep up the good work and keep sharing the knowledge!!!
Beats the old method, using a chain saw...

Why put a copyright on your videos?
As soon as you upload them to YouTube it's their property.
Gotta love terms and conditions.

I used one of these saws in New Mexico, building a couple of log cabin kits, man that thing is a beast but made cutting the cants so much easier!!

Now that is a saw!!!
It even sounded like it was having a hard time on the log.
When you are done building, the structure will last for lifetimes.
Very exciting.

Very nicely done Cody! Is that a 14" Big Foot? That should really help out with production on your timber frame.

There are few people in this world who can sit and watch a two minute video of someone making a cut, and enjoy it... I am one of those people.
