cooooool. i never knew you get demos from gamestop. thanks for that tip. cuz i really wanna get this game cuz it looks cool. im a newbie to the series. i never really heard of this series till this this game came for wii.
i was wondering why your Wii looks so much better than mine, lmao. i did recently buy another wii, and i cant even figure out whats going on when i play this game, it appears so blurry and pixalated, my other consoles look amazing, are you using the "high def" cables that you can get for the Wii?
awesome! enjoyed your vid. Im abit new to the series i just wanted to know, how big a difference are the quest in the offline and online? I'll obviously work abit on the single player to get used to it and not drag down people with me in the online but yeah. What exactly are the differences? Will there be quest that are available only in the offline but not in the online viseversa?
It's scary that people can try the demo and still think the game will be good.
It has a lot of good going for it, but the biggest part of the game (the fighting mechanics for your character) are terrible. You get a single attack, and you get a dodge. No block...no skills...not even an alternate attack (strong attack, fast attack, etc).
The attack animation just looks horrible. (granted, this is a Wii game, but still)
@Upup2211 Each weapon has a few different attacks, some executed by context, button combinations or charging (the Sword and Shield combo used in this video actually has DOES have a block as well), and as any veteran will tell you, not knowing how to properly use those attacks will get you killed.
So, actually, I think it's more scary that people play a demo, don't understand what they played at all, and then chastise the game and its players.
@tvandlust THANK YOU THAT WAS A BEAUTIFUL REPLY....god its like people hate to learn HOW to play and because they dont know how to play they think a game sux....retards
@Upup2211 lol it seems like you haven´t played any monster hunter.
Way of using weapons is based on your skill.
It´s not like you cast skills to attack like in every MMORPG or such.
Every weapon got some attack moves and that´s enough it won´t get boring even after 1000 hours of gaming(my psp MH2 is at around 900 Hours) and i still play it online for hours each day.
@Upup2211 Uh.. single attack? You mean a single weapon per mission right? It does have block and why would you need skills? It does have strong attack, fast attack...
Wow the crap that is spouting from your mouth tells me you have never even seen someone playing this game for any length of time and you just came to hate on a game for no reason.
I've played the japanese version and I didnt like it. It is to slow, with a lot of loads and it is just a pain in the ass to fight with monster because you don't have a lockon system and the camera is terrible.
The "you have to reserve the game to buy the demo" thing makes sense from a business standpoint since Gamestop is counting on a lot of the people buying the demo being super nerds who are buying the demo because they NEED to play the game right now.
The demo was kind of enjoyable but being new to the series I was very confused by the combat. Also I don't understand the purpose or story, why are we killing the dinosaurs just existing here.
I got the demo too. I beat the first quest as a medium bowgun user, but I haven't done the second quest yet. That one is really hard! Right now I'm thinking I might get Monster Hunter Tri, but I'm not totally sure yet. I think the Classic controller does work well with this game, but I only own one, and I'm not a fan of the shoulder button layout on the default Classic Controller, so I may want to look into the redesigned Classic controller for that.
@zxgohan It's actually not really open world. There isn't a story or anything like that either, but you basically accept quests and then jump to the appropriate map.
Believe it or not this game is going to finally sell me a wii. I left WoW about 8 months ago and this is going to replace it for me. Has a lot of the same hooks. Plus i am a huge Monster Hunter game fan.

There is no story. And they're monsters. I don't think we really need a purpose to kill monsters. :)
