@mgordon1100 its a great game. I had never played guitar at all before this game. I am no expert yet but my friends who play guitar say I have come a long way in what little time I have been playing. Its better then guitar lessons and cheaper if you have friends who can clue you on minor things you aren't grasping like optimum finger placement for certain chords.

Rocksmith has a very slow start to all songs which may bore some of the more advanced players, but once you get past that, people.will find that the game makes learning new songs easier. Being someone who struggles with solos, I found this game quite helpful (after waiting an hour per song but hey, patience is a virtue)

I agree with the guy saying you can learn all this from a book. This game just like a book will be for beginners. It won't make u good at playing but it'll help u get the first steps u need to start. It's all about the practice, the game is a waste just look up free lessions online. The guitar isn't fun untill u get good at it.

@evilmonkey609 actually..seems like you haven't played the game it actually takes you into a whole streamlined learning curve,the thing is...it also allows you to free play the songs,the game allows you to improve as long as you can keep up with the chords and single notes..it gets harder,the more you play the same song the harder it gets,it also comes with a very complete set of videos and and challenges for you to try,wether you're good at it or not,it will give you advanced tips,try the game.

As you can just look up the tabs that coincide with the game and use the game as an amp if you don't have one. + it's better to not sit down and read tabs or sheet music that form nursery rhyme elements... It's better to at least know where to put your fingers. It is the first steps... After that, you can make connections when you actually start to learn scales and the names of the chords you're playing etc...

I think it helps 2 with frustration a bit becuz youre staring at a tab trying 2 play that & theres just a dull sheet of paper theres no real excitement in it. You get frustrated & you say forget it But, with this it keeps you interested longer becuz its connected to your xbox & youre like How does this work? This is so cool! Some dont like 2 read & give up just becuz of it They dont have a teacher 2 help either & it gets you 2 learn older more challenging songs than todays music most look up

You can't have this much fun with a book. I'm with Tom on this one. Now i may have not played the game yet but I know from experience that i will do more if there is a specific challenge for me to meet than just playing notes in a book. The game may have similar material but at least for people like me it would create that drive to get to that higher level and those higher up songs in the same way guitar hero did but way more rewarding than just tapping the POS plastic guitar while learning some awesome songs

Unbelievable performance David. I just got this game and couldn't play a single note before as I've never had a guitar. Went to Guitar Center Saturday and bought a guitar and this game. A day later and I can play parts of a song; can't wait to see how much I improve in a few months, then years. But the way he plays this (the second part) is just sick. I probably won't be able to do that for years to come, if ever. David is the man.

@leon13marx That won't happen. lol I garuntee what drew him to this game is that you play real parts on a guitar. Believe it or not, real guitarists often struggle with music games such as Guitar Hero or Rock Band. It is very different and in some ways harder.
