I've always loved The Trancas album. It was released when I was in London seeing John Stewart in a pub called The Half Moon, He autographed me the album..It contains nice songs such as" Pilots in Blue".Thanks a lot for the memories.
This song means so much to me. Being a working American like all others, the lyrics make me think of my life as it is and where it's going. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I said this to one of the Ticket For The Wind Videos and I so am wanting to say it to this Video. I am so blessed they made a Video with some of the greater actors, singers, and so on. It is just so hard to believe that 3 Big names have past away.
-Jackie Gleason.
-Jerry Reed.
-And of course, John Stewart.
These 3 Legends have always made the best impact on our love for life in our earlier days of living. IF only I had the change to meet any of these 3. God Bless them for there tallents.
I personaly think this was one of jackie gleasons best performances in the third one, this movie is fun, funny and just a good time, ridiculously great, with all the funny mishapes buford has along the way, (i.e. motel, racetrack, the fish stealing game, tow truck, milk truck, and best of all, the bomb blowing off all the body work!) and the classic junior and his childish, hasnt left the nest ways
@CHRYSLEROUTBOARDS I thought seeing what was left of Buford's car at the end was hysterical! I liked that they went through more mishaps in this movie than they did in the first two sequels, this movie definitely has much more of a fun factor than the first two movies (especially Part 2)
@Doobie1975 I loved part 3 I do to think it is a better movie than part 2. Its a great closing vovie toa terrific trilogy which i grew up watching every weekend at the cottage, to this day it make me sad to hear this song and ticket for the wind
@CHRYSLEROUTBOARDS I hate it when people diss on 3 cause Burt Reynolds and Sally Field was in it, at least Jackie Gleason and Mike Henry makes up for their absence and I liked seeing them get more screentime
As I am with the other members here who first heard this amazing tune in Smokey and the Bandit Part III, THANK YOU! I now can say that I've gotten all my favorite songs together from the Smokey III soundtrack!
It is a trip to hear so many make comments on smokey and the bandit 3 (I personaly do not believe it was a bad movie by far.) The point i want to make is this song was part of an epic movie. Even when it played back in late 80s u knew it was over. It was that feeling you feel when u know there wont be a part 4. Then to hear "ticket to wind" made me cry, im now in my mid 30s and after so many years I never gave up looking for this song I want to thank u from the bottom of my heart ty so much.
@char00079 I cant even watch the end of the movie as soon as junior starts to run I haved to turn it off, because I know ill cry. im 16 and have watched this movie since i was 10 I love it, imo perfect closing to the trilogy and perfect closing song is ticket for the wind, i Haved to admit iv had jackie gleason in my prayers a few night, and jerry reed too. IM even getting emotional writing this, :P
I so agree with you. Just liek the Comment I posted above this was so hard to see the ending of the trilogy.
John Stewart, Jackie Gleason, and Jerry Reed all being a past memory now. It gets to me on the inside to know they made the greatest benchmarks of entertainment I couldn't ask for any better. But I do get tears to my eyes knowing what benchmarks they made for entertainement for us all.
Thank you for putting this song on youtube! I heard this song on Smokey and The Bandit 3. This song come out in 1984 and is hard to find on John Stewart CD's.

This song reminds me of the movie "Smokey and the Bandit III" which I thought was an underrated movie and IMO superior to Smokey 2
