  • @gavocrazy Not really. hahaha.. It's like... wood... or... well.. WOOD.. which bamboo is made of.. so... take your pick :D

  • Great video. Very easy to follow. Now it's time to attempt my own! lol Thanx.

  • @AnAddictsEmpathy AWEsome!!

  • Nice handy way to make pipes cheap im a pipe smoker and im due for a fresh one

  • @vipe1475 :D

  • Bro i tried this wit banna kush an it was fukin sick nice video

  • @Dainfinate Banana kush.. interesting.. haha :D

  • nice vid. I want to make one with some of that hard dark red indian/autumn corn. I'd of course need a drill for that since it's already complely dried. But because of that, if i get the right sized drill i can make a bigger hole.

  • @MarionetteKazuko YEAH dude! DO IT!!

  • dude this was awesome!

  • Made a nice pipe based off of your instructions. Found some decorative corn cobs at the store and thought I could make a nice pipe out of it. Searched and found this video. So I went along with it and found some bamboo supports in the garden and used it. Thought it wasn't going to work but it eventually came clear and was able to blow through it... after 2 tries with the bamboo splitting. lol Thanks for the video.

  • @BL00F0X YEAH man!! haha!! Praise Jesus.. sweet! You should upload a video response with your pipe!! :D

  • @quinnmyster

I can try to do it tomorrow if I remember.

  • What did you use for the stem?

  • @beatlesfan27 Bamboo

  • @MAD9711 If I didn't make an effort to make this video for all ages I would not get paid (at some point) when I get enough views. Kinda silly, but.. that's the requirement of Youtube

  • have you tried it with weed? like does it work well?

  • @sebsc1 No. I do not smoke that.

  • i just made a pipe using everything you told me to do on the vid, but i ordered an actual pipe stem off a website and so far it seems to be good. going to try it when my stems come in

  • @bigrizzleful Oh NICE!! Dude, put up a Video Response when you finish it! I'd love to see it..

  • you did a great job, it's hard trying to explain every step in anything, so kudos to you bro

  • @janiesmithka Oh THANKS man!! Yeah, I just thought through all that I did an filmed it :D

  • corn is in the oven right now!!!

  • @varun009 Nice :D haha..

  • @quinnmyster yeah, its done, came out great! now i just need a stem... haha.

  • @varun009 Sweet! Go to a gardening section of a hardware store and get those bamboo shoots! Cut the right size, make a nice long length, and use sandpaper to file off the slivers.

  • @quinnmyster worked like a charm now i just need to find a piece of corn with a larger pith, thanks for all the help!

  • @varun009 Oh sweet! Yeah, you should post a video response of it smoking when you're done!! I'd love to see it and I'm sure others would too so they'd be inspired :)

  • @quinnmyster sure thing! just as soon as i can get my hands on a decent camera.

  • @joshuaheitzenrater94 Well, there was a part in the video that I talked about how gentle and slow and unforceful you have to be when make the stem-hole. It's frickin tough, I've busted a few myself. I found that as SOON as I see the corn splitting I stop, or just round out the hole I have and then place a smaller stem in there. Bamboo shoots can be 1/4" diameter or 2 inches. Ideally I like it about 1/2" (1 cm.) but.. it doesn't always work out that way. Just be slow & use a very sharp knife!

  • lets all keep a level head first off i am 36 and im tryint to find out how to make a corn cob pipe see i have shucked the corn drilled the holes and placed the stem but it seems that mine was to dry as the bowl caught fire im wondring if tyhere is some way to cure the corn cob so it dont catch fire:(

  • @Soulmeturs hahahahaha... I'm sorry, I'll stop laughing :D I had this happen to me. You got the corn too dry. Dang.. it's tough. Just dry it at like.. 175 or maybe 200 degs. Total of like.. 4 hours I think? I haven't made a pipe in about a year. And don't de-kernel the corn, either. Do that when it's naturally dried, if you want. I, personally, like the corn on there. Plus, you put Elmer's Wood Glue all over the outside and it'll harden and shouldn't burn up. Just don't put glue in bowl

  • And my understanding, their is only one company in the United States that still makes corn cob pipes. And that is in Missouri. Anyway, thanks again. Great video!

  • @wlindenlaub Sweet, thanks!!

  • Great videos! I'm going to have to try this out and make one for my dad.

    Thanks!

  • @wlindenlaub Nice, man!! Do a video response and share it!!

  • @quinnmyster I went to the local home improvement store. While looking for the bamboo, I came across a 10 lb bag of dried corn on the cob. It was about $10 for the bag. I got that and a straight piece of bamboo for 83 cents, and made my dad a pipe. After he lit it up, it ended up burning a hole through the side on the first bowl of tobacco. I reused the stem and made a bigger bowl with thicker walls and it seems to be working great. I'd do a video, but my camera took a crap.

  • @MAD9711 Because if I didn't say something like that it might not get approved for AdSense, and if my views get high enough on a video I'll get funded for it (like.. pennies.. hahaha)

  • @MAD9711 Personally, I don't care what kids watch. If I was a kid, I'd be looking for boobs and explosives (guess I was a bit of a pyro). I just thought there was some irony in that statement. I assume the other part of your comment is rhetorical, so, of course it's not a crime to NOT smoke weed. However in some places it isn't a crime TO smoke weed either (depending on what jurisdiction you are worried about). I just found it hard to believe.

  • @osculant Na, it's all good :) Like I said.. I already enjoy alcohol and tobacco and I have enough trouble getting stuff done, I don't need weed to make me lazy, like many I know (not everyone, but I'm pretty sure I'd be one of those lazy weed-smoking types, plus my wife's not ok with it and it's illegal and I don't feel right before God on the issue).

  • Thanks man! I'm really excited to try it out.

  • @rustysurfer864 FAT dude!! Upload a response video!

  • Hey there, I liked the effort you put into that video. That being said, a few comments.

1.You didn't mention being able to add paper filters (such as those that come with Missouri Meerschaum pipes.

    2. You say your video is geared towards all ages. That's kinda silly, kids don't NEED to know how to make a corncob pipe.

    3. You have more comments from yourself than from others I think...

    4. NEVER smoked weed? Come on...who are you fooling?Keepin it on the DL tho, I get it

    5.Learn to tamp your pipe.

  • @osculant Paper filters? Might as well just smoke a cig. The all-ages thing was cause of being paid for this video to be on Youtube :) More comments from myself? Really?! haha.. That's funny :D And yeah, I'm 28 and never smoked weed. It's not legal. Why can't people understand that? If it was or I had a green card I might do it. But I enjoy tobacco and beers already.. and I don't need another reason to be lazy. I did, however, smoke spice (Mr. Nice and K2) the other night & I didn't like it.

  • @quinnmyster The paper filters in those pipes don't have the same surface area as a cigarette filter, they are primarily used to keep large chunks of tobacco out of your mouth (as opposed to the finer particulate matter contained in the smoke). Many don't like K2 but very much like weed. You have to consider that 'K2' blends only contain one synthetic cannabinoid, and the real stuff contains different ones, and a blend of them. P.S Dont let the govt dictate what you do in private, in general...

  • @osculant I don't like tamping my pipe cause it gets too hot and burns faster. I like a slow, cooler burn if possible, where it's not going out, but not blasting lit. Just how I roll. Don't like my throat to get murdered.

  • @quinnmyster No offense, I think you might be doing it wrong. A loosely packed pipe is like a well built campfire, it allows for greater air circulation and actually supports a higher combustion temperature. I reccommend filling to the top, tamping down to 1/3 the height of the bowl, then filling again and tamping to 2/3 then the last pinch should heap over the top and be tamped down a bit. Just the right amount of compactness and it should burn very well. Try that method, you may like it.

  • That's pretty cool me n my boyfriend r going to try n make one

  • @kelseysankey FAT dude!! I mean.. chic :D Not that you're fat... oh n/m.. F it /:-\

  • You maaaaaag doggg, i fucking love the idea! thank you so much, i will deffss subscribe,

  • @zatuhmay SWEET man!! Many people have already made pipes using my walk-through! You should too, and upload a video response, showing yours :D

  • @quinnmyster i will man.

  • @zatuhmay Cool dilleo..

  • Fantastic tutorial! I'd been wanting to make one for a while, and this is exactly what I was after - something simple, not needing a lot of high-tech gadgets. I've made three pipes now, one for myself and two for friends and family, and I'm definitely going to make more. Thanks so much!

Btw I have a quick question. If I don't use the glue, but just wedge the stem into the corncob, would that be good enough? I don't think it will fall out if I'm careful, but will some smoke seep out over time?

  • @nicolethebean85 Dude NICE!! Glad my walk-through helped!! I knew if I made this video that people would really benefit from it. But yeah, I used to just have the stem stuck in, but it fell out here and there so I just Elmer'd it. I Elmer'd all OVER my pipe (but away from the bowl so I'm not smoking glue :)

  • @nicolethebean85 And hey, I would love a video response showing a pipe(s) you've made!!

  • Works perfect. Good shit dude

  • @Bigshank54 Dude SWEET!!

  • Dude you're so fucking cool

  • @whatachola hahaha.. Thanks, sucka!

  • YOU ARE AWESOME!

  • @Kakes41 Oh no prob, dawg!! Thanks!! Hope you make a good pipe, homie!

  • This is awesome. I'm new to smoking and this little project sounds too fun to pass by. I bot a corn cob pipe and I think making a proper pipe, out of ACTUAL corn will be a focal point of convorsation among other smokers. Again thanks alot brother

  • @14nakedmen No prob dawg!! Hope you make a goodin and upload a video response of how it smokes!!

  • Thanks for the tutorial. I work in a place where we end up throwing a lot of corn away, and I hate to see ALL of it go to waste. I have a small briar pipe, and this would be a great alternative and give me some backups that I'm not afraid of over using.

  • @RainartXIII haha.. well.. the funny thing about you saying "backups that you're not afraid of over using" does not really come into play, because the work you go through to make the pipe, you're so proud of it that you don't want it to break or get damaged. Interesting this is, this pipe in this video I made about 9 months ago and it smokes better than my $20-25 wood pipe I have. Whatever I put in it tastes amazing. The corn sugar comes out in the taste, I think is what is hahaha..

  • Sadly replying tothe message about Not taking it off my frien shaved my corn before I could tell him Not to.. He also ate half of it off lmfao

  • @omg99wcftw hahahaha... That would be AWEsome to make a pipe out of corn you personally at half of. hahahahaah... :D

  • @quinnmyster haha it works great :DDD lol half eaten corncob pipes FTW lmfao

  • @omg99wcftw nice :D hahaha..

  • Beautiful bro, great job thanks alot man amazing tutorial now I have allthe cheap pipes I want!

  • dont cut off the corn people think you're suppose to but it looks better with it!

  • @planetoftheapez I agree with you. That's why I put Elmer's Wood Glue all over the pipe and it dried nice and clear and the kernels never fall off :)

  • @quinnmyster I only have normal elmer's glue, do you think that would be safe enough?

  • @Gregd8888 Regular Elmer's glue dries way too soft. The wood glue is only a few bucks and is just perfect :) Just don't let it get inside the bowl, unless you want to smoke glue.

  • @Gregd8888 Stop trying to be so cheap and spend the $5 on a wood glue and 2 cobs, for crap's sake!! YARG!!! >:-O

  • @quinnmyster Lol I just didn't wanna leave the house, I ended up making the pipe anyway but it came out kind of shitty. The inside hardened up pretty well but the outside is still moist because I boiled it. think I'm just gonna go to a headshop and buy a pipe for 5 bucks and call it a day.

  • @Gregd8888 hahahaha... You can't use boiled corn, that's ridiculous!! hahahaha... I TOLD you it'd be all WET from boiling it!

  • @quinnmyster Was worth a try lol

  • Hey I just wanted to know if its dried completely and finished and all is it alright to shave off the corn or will that brake it up?

  • @kinghorny19 You can shave the corn off but it's likely to leave little holes. Whether you shave it or not, it'll last longest and stay sealed if you coat it with Elmer's Wood Glue. It's yellow-white when wet, but very clear when dried. It's done me wonders.

  • Yessss! Makin one now :D

  • @Channel450 SICK dude!!! Make a quick video response of it when you're done!!

  • @quinnmyster..... Haha funny story actually.... I'm not old enough yet but November I will be... But I don't want to wait

  • HAHA, these videos are great. You'd laugh if you saw what I was trying to do. The idea for those bamboo things that hold plants was great.

  • @planetoftheapez NICE dude! I wanna see what you did!! Upload a small clip as a video response!!

  • @quinnmyster thanks i glued it with epoxy and it worked really well until i stepped on it by accident you should try bamboo though its really good if you drill out the middle

  • ok is there any way you can add tobacco for the same price... Because that would be very helpful

  • @NBVvideos Tobacco? It's like.. $5 for an ounce at any grocery store or gas station. Do you not have tobacco in your country?

  • I wish my grampa was still alive then I'd make him one

  • @yahmen2000 Well you could still whip one up for yourself..?

  • Hey awesome video...do you think that you could possibly make me one of these and send it to me so I can give it to my grandpa hah...... But I'll also pay u for it

  • @NBVvideos I might be able to do that :) It takes some time and work, but I'd probably do it for $25 shipped.

  • hell yeah dude, me and my buddy are gunna try this soon, its real helpful, thanks!

  • @sk8b0arding4lif3 AWESome dude!! Post a video your pipes!!

  • never seen a garage ceiling like befor

  • @GFORCEpackattack Interesting comment. House was quickly built, where I bought it, and the garages in all the houses look like this, with unfinished roofs.

  • @quinnmyster well i saw that comment u gave to that one dude who was just bashing you so id thought id give u a real comment about YOUR house

  • don't you have to remove all the corn from the cob??

  • @WorkingClass69 Nope. But if it's not dried all the way it'll still have corn juice in there and end up molding. So it's better to de-kurnel it once you've dried it.

  • gonna make one of these but i am a minor and live with my parents so i cant use the oven for multiple hours. gonna try drying my cobs in my shed out side or something.

  • @quinnmyster So if you don't inhale the pipe smoke, what do you do? Just suck it into your mouth and spit it out?

  • @hellerZauberer Yeah, you just puff it. I never said I don't inhale, I just said you shouldn't. This' geared for all audiences/ages.

  • why doesn't it stay lite?

  • @trevor6744 It does. If you've never smoked a pipe, or one with a deep bowl, you'll find that you have to fire the tobacco for about 10-15 seconds to get it well lit. Then tamp it down lightly and re-light for a few seconds, and then you're golden until the tobacco is all smoked. Sometimes you still have to do a quick re-light, but it's the initial light that's most important.

  • @trevor6744 Newer pipes are usually hard(er) to light.

  • Dude! You worked Lovincali408, and also I think it's awesome that you smoke a pipe, there's something about it that I just love

  • @13Segruts Yeah, he has a lot of anger inside. I in no way was offensive in the walk-through. But yeah, a pipe is nice, just take'n a chill outside or with buddies. Yeah when you're 18 give it a whirl maybe! People do get easily addicted so.. I'm not gunna suggest it

  • Get a life you gayass white bitch

  • @LuvinCali408 Dude that's really rude and hurtful. I'm married to my wife, own that house, and work. I have a life and am not gay. I made this video to help people make their own pipes. You need to watch your mouth, young man. We're all accountable to what we do and say.

  • @quinnmyster gay people have lives too, LOL :D

  • @Favmursik Wait what? Oh.. haha.. I see from the comment :D

  • nice !! :)

  • @Mr420rush No prob, dawg

  • Hey man, thanks for the videos, they helped a lot getting my first couple pipes made.

I had a question for you: Do you leave the corn on the cob or cut it off? Reason I ask is 'cause I left the kernels on and found it rotting (turning slightly black). I'm guessing I didn't dry it long enough and it had a chance to mold.

    again, thanks for the videos!

  • @raffiapa Yeah if you leave the kernels on you need to place the pipe back in the oven once you're all done carving, or just leave it out (in the house) where it's dry, cause outside is always more humid. But yeah.. I've gotten moldy pipes as well. haha.. But dude, I'm glad my how-to has helped!!

  • I remember one time i was walking home from school and i found a corn cob pipe on the side walk.. i took it home with me its in good use too :D

  • @mezikanchino haha!

  • @quinnmyster yup it was good day

  • Wow, great video! but for the splitting, i used agave honey and threw it in the oven for 10 minutes, and it worked fine. Thanks for the vid!

  • @bubblehog1 Oh dude NICE! I'll have to try that on the next pipe!!

  • Thank you so very much for providing this video. I enjoyed the video and actually intend to make a corn cob pipe. Excellent video!!

  • @razalady SWEET! Thank you!! I hope to see yours! If you remember, send me a pic or video of it or something!

  • cool video! i just recently got into making/carving briar pipes and thought of maybe taking a crack at corncob. glad i found your vids, good pointers. hopefully ill have a nice corn cob in a week or so!

  • @luisrafael420 Sweet, dude!! Make a vid! I would love to see your hand-carved pipes! I want to do that next. Just gotta order some nice carving knives.

  • this is awesome. im deff going to give it a try

  • @michaelharris1109 Sweet dude! Show me your final product!!

  • cool fuckin cool

  • @cody6257 Thanks dude!! Go make one!!!

  • LMAO!!!!!!! i just bought a corn cob pipe two days ago and i wanted to make my own. its funny that you posted it a week ago. i liked your vid i will use it as a reference when i make my own

  • @zetsuxitachi92 Sweet dude!! It's pretty easy. My 20 minute walk-through mainly covers the little details of what you do and don't want to do so you don't eff up your whole project. Be sure and cook a couple ears of corn worth of corncob sections so you have room for error and can restart on another piece if you totally break one.

  • @quinnmyster thanks for the advice dude ill let you know how it comes out

  • Very interesting. I've never seen a corn cob pipe with corn still on the cob. If you enjoy it, that's all that matters.

  • @Aristocob For sure! Usually after it dries a bit you can bust the corn off but I like it on. I mean, during Thanksgiving time of the year there's always dried Indian corn on the table. Why can't your pipe be the same?
