While I was under the hood I found out the yellow and blue pads were both badly cracked. A little duct tape, super glue and 30 cents fixed them back to (better than) new.

Yep, when I pulled mine off I snapped 2 of the drum heads in half....So I bought good wood mods instead....But I found out that good wood mods sux ! go with Ions

after about 1 full hour i did it. it hurt the hell out of my hands as well. i had to put my fingers in that little tight space and carefully pull up with quite some strength. and after all that trouble, they still basically sound the same. so idk anymore. i might sell them and get the rb1 set, cuz i cant deal with that sensitivity bullshit. i can barely hear them when fills come up, and i have to beat the hell out of them just to hear them. with rb1 sets you dont, and they are cheaper.

Hey dude, you are brilliant. Duct tape & nickels will fix alot of things. I always have a roll of duct tape in the truck & backpacking, you can even use it on a flesh wound until you can get stiches so you don't bleed to death. Great shit, thanks for the vid. You are a god! Our yellow drum stopped working after just 4 weeks of use but was outside the 60 day warranty. it was an X-mas gift. I spent hours on the phone with the people at Harmonix who said too bad so sad it can't be repaired. Taking the pads off was a little more difficult than you showed but once I figured it out it went bette. I did have to push back the little plugs in but then with the nickels the drums were repaired!

hey man thanks alot for this tip if anyone is wondering if this works well it does, very well, my yellow pad had cracked and it was not responding so i threw in 2 nickels and i never miss a beat. my drum set is an EL model (not sure what that means) but it took a bit of force to remove the pads, but don't worry about taking it out because as long as you don't snap the colored wires nothing is going to happen. i hope this helped some people, thanks for the tutorial

i had the same problem when i first tryied to pop it off. but if you pull really hard its not gonna rip out the cords. i had the same worry but when it pops off, you instictivly stop pulling :)

You can just plug it in again. I don't know if all models are like this but mine has a connector, one coming from the drums and another from the pad. Not a big deal really.

The internal pad is intended to absorb the shock of getting wacked by the drum stick. This "fix" will eventually result in damage to the piezeo and he drum will fail.

The plate under the yellow pad seemed a bit larger in circumference than the Red. Have you thought about trying a quarter or a half dollar coin instead?
