  • What a strange commercial lol. I get it, no more shake rattle or roll.

  • Might of had unibody construction, but the car always sounded like the wheels were going to fall off....

  • Cars were batter built in back then. Unlike the ones they build now, made of fiberglass. The back of them looked like the Batmobile

  • not a bad looking car

  • This commercial (jingle and all) emphasizes the "unibody" construction Chrysler introduced that year. And the cars WERE very smooth riders with almost no rattles/squeaks.

  • immense boot storage space....

  • Are there any videos on the '45rpm player that was in the 1960 Plymouth? I would love to see one being demonstrated.

  • i think that if car companies put this much care in their advertisements today as they did then. they would sell a hell of a lot more cars

  • These were definitely pretty cars.

  • I'm surprised to see how many 1960 car commercials on YouTube are in color - color TV shows were scarce back then, and only a handful of people had color TVs to watch 'em on, too.

I think our 1960 Plymouth was blue with a white top, like the one in this commercial.

  • Love the car...1960 Plymouth..what a beauty...what a beauty...suddenly its 1960..and i think these cars are very rare today, Thx wksufreshair..:)

  • @takoma5 - This was one of the few models in which the two-door hardtops weren't as good looking as the 'post models or the four-door hardtops, JMO.

  • @thespeez jepp, thats true..overall the 1960 model was ugly compared to the 1957-58 and 59 models

  • @takoma5 The biggest f-up was the way that the 2-door hardtop was designed. The way the side rear windows were designed was just too f-ugly! The front end styling I could live with; if you think about it, the '59's front end styling was nothing special, either.

  • @thespeez yes, i guess youre right about that..but in my book the 59 model is still very much acceptable!!
