  • 8:50 the word you where looking for can easily be refered to as "coordinates" just a little something I hope you find helpful

  • who plays with their finger on ctrl z?

  • 1:38 - 1:55 is sooooo rasist if your white skined LOL!

  • Woow all the stuff you said not to do... I did when I was just starting

  • Thanks man... i'm a beginner in chess.. your videos helped me understand the fool steps i had made. Great attempt...

  • right after watching this, i won my first game!

  • Which gm said that "Chess is 99% tactics"?

  • @Penguincw2 Teichmann

  • @grobchess it more than 99% tactics its 100% tactics

  • @jarethmcc1 I didn't invent the phrase, but I would disagree with you nonetheless. Without some positional understanding and opening mastery, there's no possibility to be the best. For an example, look up IM Emory Tate.

  • @grobchess Wasn´t there a gm who also said. If you have an positional advandce tactics will favour you also?

  • I wish people knew how to properly use contractions.

  • "Alright, welcome back" lol

  • this video is stupid. you know why? that first board you showed was white winning. although white has an isolated pawn, it is also a passed pawn. white will win easily.

  • @MrPropapanda You missed the point. The only reason that board is there is to demonstrate the isolated pawn concept. It wasn't an active game of chess.

  • Thanks for helping me!

  • in notation they are called ranks and files, nice vid collections for chess beginners.

  • if you're black you're happy and if you're white your not happy :D kind of racist game if you look at it in an angle :D

  • Lol teamwork, thank you for the help! ^_^

  • 1:50 "if you're on the black side, your goal is to take advantage of white's weaknesses"

    lol

  • Nice series! Learning alot! Nicely explained

  • 1:40-1:47 "if your white your probly not right now if your black you are happy and that just a genaral thing" LOL

  • you know what i dont get?

you say that moving pieces around the edge is bad...what about your flank moves? some of the best war commanders in history would always use flanks. i dont get why not controling the center is bad. every attack has a counter attack.

  • is this chess version on a website?

if it is please tell me.thnks

  • at 3:15 you cant call weak pawns.the upper pawn has a bishop for support and the lower has a rook as a support.or if the bishop and the rook's enemys have also supports, its a real bad move.

(P.S dont get mad at me im just a begginer trying to understand.)

  • im not an expert either but i think that if u have that kind of pawn u do can support them with the bishop and the rook but u wont be able to move these pieces from that place,u got them locked there protecting the pawn whick is bad

  • 4:11 of video, pawn islands. hmm interesting because with this position I would think white has the advantage here with the pawn island strategy. Because white can move both a and b files up and g and h files up to attack blacks outside pawns. black king can't defend both side of the board. so I don't see how black could stop white from reaching the queen. I know this is an example of strategy and is not really a real game position but maybe adding a rook on both sides would be better.

  • Thanks a bunch dude!

For a beginner like me who started playing chess only 2 days ago, your videos have made me feel a lot more confident.

  • I started playing this yesterday!

I didn't know how to play and i got owned and i did all the mistakes u mentioned...

    thx! NICE VID!!!

  • Nice vid!

    Learned loads

  • You call them a to h and 1 to 8 xD

    Great Video!
