  • Amazing this procession with these bagpipes played for the kings and queens since the middle ages. Hope this goes one and god forbid muslims don't take over Great Britain. Muslims will end this type of life.

  • long live the queen.

  • Man 7:46 must have been the most nervous those guys have ever been. You drop this casket and it haunts you for the rest of your life.

  • This is what some folk are proposing for Margaret Thatcher. Can't see it, myself.

  • @lanksareit Those of us who supported maggie do not propose it, she left a country on the up. That is untill Blair and Brown fucked it all up, but I notice you do not mention that.

  • LONG LIVE THE QUEEN!

  • Queen Elizabeth was very dearly loved in Scotland. She was our Scottish Queen ! A fitting tribute to hear the sound of Scotland on the day we remembered her.

  • brings tears to my eyes

  • the bbc presenter should shut his mouth in respect he is treason .

  • if this was all for the queen mother... I cant even think of what would be for Queen elizabeth... Long may she live, this coming from an american

  • A sad day.

  • a graet loss for britan god bless her soul

  • You know, the etymology of the word "liberal" means generous, while that of the word "conservative" means stingy. I need say nothing else.

  • @billy12080 Not exactly.....

  • What was the date of this funeral?

  • @CyborgBabe1983 9th april 2002

  • A Queen of great respect and brought happiness and pride to many peoples lives RIP

  • Pure Scottish tradition!!!

  • From a Scot and a Brit to a Scotswoman and British Lady.

    RIP- Your Majesty.

  • From a Scot and a Brit to a Scotswoman and British Lady.

    RIP- Your Majesty.

  • R.I.P HRH queen elizabeth the queen mother, you were a woman who made me proud to be english, I was only four years old when she died, and I wish that I could have remembered her more than I have, a woman who lived through two world wars, three recessions, and even managed to hit one hundred years old, something that many of us want to do. She died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 101, the way that we would all like to depart this earth with no pain and her family were at her side.

  • @phineas117, I'm sure that her spirit was with them, and his royal family. and I also think that Princess Diana was also with them in spirit too, and I too wish that she could meet her new Daughter-in-Law, She would've liked and loved her.

  • I remeber being caught up in this when I was 9 with my dad in London. I had no clue of what was happening

  • QEEN OF VICTORY.

  • God Bless the queen, i`m german and i know that we have an history and the family windsor, and i was never a nazi i hate them

  • There will never be anyone like her

  • she loved the mass pipes and drums.

  • During the blitz she refused to leave London, if the people can take it so can i, what a lady.

  • @wisetrucker "The king won't leave London,I won't leave the King and the children will not leave without me."

something like that, anyways a brave woman. RIP

  • @nesossin you properly screwed that up

  • @nesossin The children won't go without me. I won't leave the King. And the King will never leave

  • makes you proud to be british! god save the queen!

  • In my soul the royal family is as it is with with billions of others aroound the world, the family may not have much political power but you better believe they have *real* power.. ,when they say something must be done,it gets done,no questions a asked..they have the true honor and loyalty of billions...

  • Sad. I always had much respect for her.

  • What a first class Lady and Queen! Every-time there is a Royal Wedding, or event, I still keep looking for her, then, I remember- The Queen Mother is severely missed! What a treasure she was!

  • yes she would have

  • A woman loved from north to south from east to west. God bless

  • what year was this?

  • @mrmccormick0 The year was "2008"

  • @grooverheliboy Actually, it was 2002. This video was uploaded in 2008.

  • @mrmccormick0 2002

  • vive la Reine que les Britanniques et leur commonwealth ne fasse jamais la bêtise de proclamer la République alors le monde les oublierait de colére.

  • I cant believe its not raining in this video.

  • Hearing the commands - FUNERAL PROCESSION, BY THE CENTRE, SLOOOWWW MARRRCH (Garrison Sergeant Major Perry Mason) - that's when you realise it's the real thing - she's gone

  • @wudbeifcudbe Exactly. One of England's goddesses have fallen.

  • She was a most remarkable woman as was her husband the late King. They stayed with their people through the thick and thin of WWII. They did what had to be done, not like the king who abdicated for the "woman he loved" sad always a black sheep in every family. I applaud our current Queen (yes I am American, but to me England is the homeland. God Save The British, God Save the Queen

  • @tambrosia she In my honest opinion, 1 of Earth's greatest humans to ever live.

  • @SAMMYJS991 That's mental.

  • She was a proud Scot, a proud Brit and proud to serve her people the people of the United Kingdom.

  • @seonidh Shame on any Scots who wants their country to became a independent republic!

  • @DavBlc7 what you've said is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Every country deserves the right to be free.

  • this is so sad she was a beautiful woman and beautiful queen and wife to king george . may she rest in peace. gone but never forgotten always in our hearts. RIP sweet Queen and beautiful lady. God bless your soul.

  • Yes a true lady. There will never be her like (unless is is her daughter, Her Most Royal Majesty). God rest her soul. She was one in a million (or more). £ance.

  • After Culleden the British banned the use of bagpipes. Go figure.

  • a Lady of gold

    a Lady of Gold!!!

  • what is the name of the song?

  • @havik82

Mist Covered Mountains and My Home

  • She was the last Empress of India, it was an end of a connection to an epoch in British history when the Queen Mother died.

  • There is something inevitable about the Pipes that resonates deep in the soul. It's like walking the long road of history -- as the Queen Mother has done -- and to keep moving forward no matter what happens. I'm not even a Scotswoman, but I feel it anyway.

  • THE BLACK WATCH WILL WATCH OVER US

  • @johnhill156 She had 3 brothers in the Black Watch and she is with them now. This from a Canadian Black Watchman RHC Nemo Me Impune Lacessit!

  • R.I.P. QUEEN ELIZABETH BOWES- LYON, THE QUEEN MOTHER, WIFE OF HIS ROYAL MAJESTY KING GEORGE VI............ LONGUE VIVE LA REINE

  • God Bless England ,And the Royal Family.

  • @TheLloydA1 England? you mean Britain

  • @jhnchrlee well not so to speak, it was the greatest empire that has ever covered the earth.

  • @Threepwoodist It was the largest, but to say an empire that conquered far-off lands where they fought with spears and shields is the greatest is a bit of a stretch.

  • clearly hear the Garrison Sergeant Major London District - Perry Mason - funeral procession, by the center, slow march - the hairs on the back of the neck stand up & there's a shiver down the back - that's pride

  • Most Americans don't understand what a close thing WWII was for the Brits in the early days of the conflict. Queen Elizabeth's courage in the face of great odds cannot be overstated. The world lost a very great Lady when this fine person died.

  • @RoflcoptersASSEMBLE. Well said!!! The bagpipes were to honour her Scottish roots, & there'd be no current Royal family if it weren't for the Scots. BTW, I'm Scottish, too, & proud of it! B. : )

  • @yellowrose2612 I hope you vote no then in the referendum!

  • a great honour befitting a great Queen Consort of the United Kingdom.

  • I Had the pleasure of serving her she was a gracious lady and she went out in style .

  • God bless England and the Royal Family, Long Live the Queen Mother in our hearts!

    God Save the Queen!

  • @bigkevcxza god bless England? HA! God bless Scotland. The Queen Mothers true home. (My home also)

  • @RoflcoptersASSEMBLE How come she didn't speak with a Scottish accent?

  • @aeronuk1 The Aristocracy had elocution lessons and so were taught Received Pronunciation regardless of their families geographic location.

  • at least the queen mum would have made them have pipers at kate and wills wed. she was the greatest royal

  • RIP from US

  • She has gone to rest with her husband, his majesty king george VI. God bless

  • @TheSirRoberto I thought Collin Firth was her husband..

  • She has gone to rest with her husband, his majesty king george VI. God bless ma'am

  • This is how a funeral should be. Pipes and drums.

  • WoW, that very impressive, love the pipe music......when was this?

  • a very very sad event to watch but done superbly....what a great send off..

  • damn i didnt even know the Queens "Mother" was still alive..I thought she was dead back in 50's!!

  • "when I sharpen my flashing sword and my hand grasps it in judgment, I will take vengeance on my adversaries and repay those who hate me."

"For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment."

"This is what the Sovereign YHVH says: 'Because Edom took revenge on the house of Judah and became very guilty by doing so,"

"They will be called the Wicked Land, a people always under the wrath of YHVH."

  • she was a grand lady....God rest her. wish she could have been here for Wills and kate's wedding....wouldn't she have loved it.

  • The dear old Queen Mother was one of the best assets our country ever had.

    God bless you Ma'am.

  • @rockinbillyboy, What grace and composure during some of the worst times. This is the little woman who, with the King as well as Sir Winston thumbed their noses at "...that jackal" (Sir Winston's words), & stood....alone!

May there ALWAYS be an England!

  • @babylon3000...

you miss the point. The Monarchy is the rallying point for the British people and in

its present form was created out of a great civil war to remain according to our agreed way of doing things and a tried and tested set of values. An occasion

like this tests our resolve to carry on and exercises our discipline in the way we

have of doing things in time of war, tragedy and loss - as well as celebration.

Think of this on the day when William and Catherine are married.

  • why is it that only men walk behind the casket?

  • @clocks05 one of the people directly behind the casket is Princess Anne, the Princess Royal !!!

  • @clocks05 Very old British tradition (and I don't know why) that women do not attend funerals so they broke with that here. When my grandad had his military funeral, I was 13 yo. I was the oldest male in line so I had to lead it.

  • why is it that only men walk behind the casket?

  • she was 101 was the queen mum elizabeth I

  • does anybody know the exact age of The Queen Mother when the Lord called her home?

  • @Beyoncefan1000 101 (onehundredand one) she would have been 102 at 4th August

  • @Grimulf82 it's One Hundred One....there is no "and" in there. Moron.

  • @sickandtiredofmorons The thing is Moron, he wrote it in ENGLISH...so it is "One hundred AND one" actually!!!.

    Moron!

  • @Grimulf82 One Hundred AND One = 100.1, idiot, it is One Hundred One

  • how can there be 29 dislikes ?? rip queen mother

  • Love the British..

  • I remember coming into the lounge when I was four and my mum was watching this. I recall a low qualtiy wide shot of westminster abbey with some procession slowly moving from the left to the right of the screen.

  • I think this does show exactly how the british people come together in times of sadness, regardless of race, religion or creed - we're all the same deep down...

  • We all die in the end.But you should not mourn the dead.Celebrate how they lived remember their life not their death. An have comfort that they are free of this awful, and unjust world. Those of us who fight on fight for u not the memory of the dead.

  • i respect all human beings but to see this much attention for a monarchy is toooooooooo funny. all i can say is, grow up or wake up. we are all born the same.

  • I am Scottish and proud to be Scottish. My best friends are English and together we are British. Lets not foget who we are and that American (Geography challenged) people realise that

  • @bc1050 I'm Scottish and I agree 100%

  • How come she died so young in these modern times, they have the best medical care on hand 24/7, best food money can buy, live the life of riley yet barley make a 100..

I would expect the queen to make 100 and charles about 105 as advances in medicine progresses through the years..

Hard life innit, when your own parents grandparents are lucky to see 80 before they pop there clogs.

Oh well some people are just to stupid to be allowed to live long

  • RIP m'am apart from diana your the only royal i liked.

  • a classy lady, a 1 of a kind lady to the world that will NEVER EVER be matched ever again.

she had the will and the way for a century, she did it HER WAY.

may god forever rest on a soul that will never be forgotten.

she lived a life UNLIKE ANY OTHER.

  • was a graceful but feisty woman - give her credit for staying at home during the war she could have come to Canada my home - for protection but she dug her heels right in with her people - and husband. thanks for posting this clip - and yes - NOBODY does protocol or State Events like the English

  • @timothyj1966 em do you not mean the british england is not britian scotland ireland and wales with england are british and can you imagine brass bands having the same affect because that is all the english can play

  • @halkburn

Nonsense there's plenty of English pipe players, when pipe playing fell out of fashion in England and Scotland it was only revived because of the British army Northumbrian pipes never went out of fashion and are still popular in northern England, Scottish pipe bands only exist because of the British army

  • Bet those military guys shouldering the casket were sweatin' bullets! I know I would be. Wouldn't want to mess up.

  • I stood about Ten Feet from the Queen Mother in early 1998 on my Visit to London. It was a Friday afternoon at about 1 :15 PM. She was getting into a Tinted Window Sedan and she was this Small Rotund Figure in a Coat with a Wide Rimmed Hat On.

She was coming from a Residence not far from Buckingham Palace, adjacent to ' the Mall " I can't recall the name of the House she was leaving. The Royal Family I was told was getting assembled for their Weekend Together.

  • Fitting to hear the pipes skirling for a Scottish lassie and a grand lady! I've Scottish background myself and my dad made sure my brother and I shared his love of the pipes. "Well done, old girl!", as a man was heard to say on Queen Victoria's 60th anniversary .Well done, indeed! May she rest in peace .

  • RIP

  • she was perhaps the best loved royal ( apart from Diana) of all.

  • Rest in peace,your majesty!

  • Wasn't nearly as grand as Diana's.

  • @jensmom604 i dont know what you watched, but this was A LOT grander, as this was an official state funeral-Dianas wasnt

  • @bulked It wasn't a full State funeral, it was a ceremonial funeral. In a proper State funeral the gun carrage is pulled by members of the Royal Navy rather than horses.

  • @jensmom604 This was a lot grander than Diana's funeral. They were different and respectful.

  • Gawd bless you ma'am!

  • I'm an American who loves Britain and I have to say that this video brings tears to my eyes. Sadly enough, I cannot think of what exactly to say besides RIP ma'am. God bless the United Kingdom, the British Royal Family, and the UK's people. -

    Sincerely-

    A "Yank".

  • @ayank3891

the bagpipes play a big part in these occasions.

they are a martial instrument and played at the right time can either stir up sad emotions or on the battlefields of old scare the bloody shit out of anybody who dared face them.

a well placed piper and a gang of Glasgows finest would sort them afghan ragtop godless vermin out in a couple of days!!

many thanks for your kind remarks ,and best wishes from your good friends across the pond

  • @ayank3891 Many thanks for your kind comments. Please know this, your respect for the UK is reciprocated by many many people here in the UK.

God bless and keep safe both the Country and the people of the USA.

    Best regards from London.

  • @ayank3891

Thank you. I am British but as a young man I lived and worked in the USA and there received nothing but kindness and encouragement. Let me respond with "God bless America"

  • @ayank3891 we love the yanks also...

  • @ayank3891 Your forefathers of 1776 died and fought to oust any type of monarchy... and here you here 2011. How times have changed... and not for the better.

  • @ayank3891 Nice one mate

  • @ayank3891 Nicely put Yank,It is pleasing to get positive comments from our american cousins.

  • @ayank3891 Over 200 years ago, Yanks hate King George III and broke away from British Crown - Now they like the royal family.

I wonder if the Yanks want the royal family back or just as celebrities?

  • @ayank3891 Over 200 years ago, Yanks hate King George III and broke away from British Crown but like you, today Yanks like our royal family so I wonder if the Yanks wants them back or just seeing them as celebrities?

  • @DavBlc7 Maybe his grandgrandgrandfather was a loyalist

  • @ayank3891 We ARE Gods People!

  • Last Empress of India? Good - as we don't run our own country so successfully let alone others'. Courage in the Blitz? Some, but my family lived through it too and didn't have arrangements to be evacuated to Canada like the Royals did.

  • rest im peace. magnificent nice and kind lady.

  • ... w w hat is the tune that the band is playing ... ?

  • I don't see queen elizebeth

  • our wonderful queen mum..gave us our wonderful queen elizabeth...bless you both

  • must have brought back awful memories for prince william and prince harry. bless them

  • She was the last Empress of India! Amazing.

  • What a life this woman lived. The things she saw. The people she met. God bless Queen Elizabeth I.

  • @likethepear While I totally agree with your comment, I have to let you know Queen Elizabeth I was Queen during the 16th Century. The Queen Mother, was officially known as Queen Consort to George VI.

  • @likethepear Queen Elizabeth I died at the age of 69 years at the beginning of the seventeenth century (b. 1533, reigned 1558 - 1603). This was Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother (b. 1900), reigned as queen consort to the present day Queen's father, King George VI (1936 - 1952).

  • @likethepear - she wasnt Queen Elizabeth I. That Queen reigned over 400 years ago. The Queen Mother was Queen Consort to the current Queens father.

  • A most wonderful queen and a true war hero.

Hitler once called her "The most dangerous woman in Europe" because of her courage and resolve during the Battle of Britain.

  • Behind the mournful dignity, respect and majesty of this procession are the PIpes which hit me where I live every time.

  • What year did the Queen Mother die?

  • @BLBrooks59 2002 if im not mistaken

  • Beyond the beauty, soberness and majesty of the occasion, it's the Pipes that get me every time.

  • I listen to this Procession over and over. Beyond the soberness and majesty of the occasion, it's the Pipes that get to me every time!

  • RIP ma'am from Puerto Rico

  • God save her.

    Long live the United Kingdom.

  • @101327 And its overseas territories.

  • may she come back as a cow India

  • God rest ye ma'am. My respects and deepest regards.

  • I had no idea that she had passed away......RIP

  • Rest In Peace ma'am from scotland

  • The Pipes and Drums play "My Home" and then followed by "MIst Covered Moutains".

  • for ever yous my queen

  • An extraordinary individual whose place in history was long ago assured forever.

  • My respect from Hong Kong, salute to the Queen!!

  • Rest in Peace, Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mother

  • the world is slowly losing all its great men and women....will we ever see the likes of them again?.....Lord God, thank you for blessing us with these great people.

  • my respects from canada

long live the queen may she rest in peace

  • what is the name of the bagpipe tune?

  • @aslan10123 Two tunes, I think: "My Home" and "Flowers of the Forest."

  • @McGrenzer

"My Home" and "Mist covered Mountains of Home"

  • Bah! Queen Mother was a crackin lass. You deserved this send off and more. Hope you enjoyed the pipes Mam. God Bless.

  • when the news broke to the british soldiers overseas they lowered the union jack to half mast and i swear every marine's heart broke

  • @boredguy300 My respects to the marines.

  • Beautiful song, although its for a funeral.

RIP Your Majesty. You were a grand lady - from Georgia

  • I still remember her funeral i must have been about 13.....rest in peace xx
