I was an exec asst for 10 years, and although I handled a lot of the same things she did, I did it all through computers and Blackberry's and rarely saw my boss. But, I can't imagine arranging travel with a book... ha ha. I mean, what if the hotels closed down, what if they were rat's nests, poor guy would be stuck in the hood... ha ha. I used to check places out online before I put my boss there.
I still can't believe there were schools and programs specifically for secretaries back then. It seems so weird by today's standards. My friends mom actually has a bachelor's degree in secretarial arts from a legitimate college (UNC I believe). Seriously!
9:15 and no phone calls yet. Peace.

Nowadays, everything in the office is automated. Secretaries are now referred to as "administrative assistants."
