@mRwhite298 Firstly, humans are God's favorites - because we can rise higher than the angels and they are our servants (that is why Satan rebelled - he would not serve). Secondly, Mary is not and never was a sinner. Thirdly, what could POSSIBLY be a higher creation than the woman who would carry God in her womb, the mother of God?
@SaintMichaelsMedia Mary woes Mother of SON OF MAN JESUS CHRIST GOD IS ETERNAL GOD HAVE NO MOTHER Mary speaking this words Luke 1,46 Mary speaking MY SOUL GIVE GLORY TO LORD MY SPIRIT REJOCE IN GOD MY SAVIOR that GOD is HIS SAVIOR meaning with this words Mary speaking that she is SiNNER because all people on this world are FALL OF GLORY OF GOD meaning they are all SINNERS and all people are destine for destruction HELLFIRE and JESUS CHRIST IS ONLY SINLESS HOLY LAMB OF GOD SAVIOR
If God has no mother, then why does the Bible tell us Mary is Jesus' mother and also tell us that Jesus is God? If Jesus is God and Mary is His mother, she must be the mother of God. Elizabeth says "the mother of my Lord" refering to Mary. "Lord" is used to mean "God".
Mary is saved BEFORE her birth and conception; she is saved in a more perfect way. Jesus saves her, but saves her BEFORE she sins. We have resources about this on our website.
@SaintMichaelsMedia Mathew 12 ,46-50 LORD JESUS CHRIST showing that His Blessed Mother have no special treatmant in GOD HOLY EYES that she is blessed in eternity because she is only humble servent and nothing more words of JESUS CHRIST my Mother and My Brothers family are people who listen and obey will of my FATHER WHO IS IN HEAVEN and this words exposing catholic teaching to be FALSE
@mRwhite298 Those who obey the will of the Father - and Mary is the FIRST PERSON in the New Testament to do this; "Behold the slave of the Lord. Be it done unto me according to Your will." She is the most perfect example of giving into the will of God.
And I notice you don't address the fact the BIBLE says "Mother of my Lord" to refer to Mary. Elizabeth says that while inspired by the Holy Spirit, so she can't be lying.
4 comandment is not honor your mother and father ,it is remember the seventh day to keep it holy..you ve made a mistake in your speech..unless you were using diffetant bible
@99goosebumps Mother of God the Son, Daughter of God the Father, Spouse of the Holy Spirit. Out of all the women in the world, she was chosen to bear the Son of God the Father, God the Son and was filled with the Holy Spirit. Just read the Gospel of Luke and see how the Trinity comes to her.
Hey guys, I'm currently going thru the biggest test in my life... my mother turned protestant and I'm Catholic, she bombards me with all these questions, and I've started to look more and more at my faith.... and I LOVE my faith, its soooo clear to me, eventhough sometimes I do think long and hard on certain points. I need alot of help from someone, I need to re-enforce my faith, can you give me any advice... I do go to church with my husband and kids, confessed last week after over 5 years
@24nmoran There are some very good websites like Catholic Answers where you can find answers to all your questions about dogma, doctrine and theology in general. It's a great site for refuting and educating yourself against false protestant claims. Catholic teaching and theology is shown using Scripture, Tradition and the Magisterium of The Church. You will be amazed at the Biblical evidence for Catholicism and how the writings of the early Church Fathers reinforce Catholic teaching.
I was raised Catholic and was told to kneel before a statue of Mary during May procession. My sisters were both told to kneel at a statue of Mary during their weddings - not even a statue of Jesus - as if Mary was the Messiah and not Jesus!!! Go to the Vatican on any day and you'll find crowds of people praying to and praising Mary. The Bible calls all this IDOL WORSHIP. How sad that Catholics will try to defend catholicism by being completely dishonest about the worship of Mary
@Apple32152 Mary is the mother of God, the human who carried God in her womb. And the saints are holy people, perfected in Heaven. OF COURSE we kneel before their statues as a mark of respect; we kneel on earth before Kings and Princes, why not kneel before members of the Court of Heaven? Kneeling is not worship, nor do Catholics worship Mary. Worship means to acknowledge as creator, and Mary is a creature. We do NOT worship her - we honor her.
@Apple32152 Also, why DON'T YOU praise Mary? You seem to say it is wrong to praise Mary - when she says, when filled with the Holy Spirit, "all generations will call me blessed." You don't seem to honor the Mother of God, or give her any respect. How rude and ungrateful of you to the woman who said "Be it done unto me according to Your will"!
Hi StMM..According to the New Testatment, Mary was only the earthly mother of Jesus, she was never deemed mother of God. Scripture states God has no beginning and no end and that Jesus was already with the Father before creation. Why would God need a mother? To kneel & praise her is to put her at God's level which is idol worship. The Bible doesn't support the belief that Mary is part of the Godhead. Only God is omnipresent to be able to hear our prayers and receive our adoration.
@Apple32152 That thing you are fighting? It is called a strawman :)
>> According to the New Testatment, Mary was only the earthly mother of Jesus, she was never deemed mother of God
Not true - word's of Saint Elizabeth "Who am I that the MOTHER OF MY LORD" should come to me. Lord is used in the Bible to mean "God" because the Jews did not say the name of God, but rather used His title of Lord.
Jesus is God. Mary is the mother of Jesus. Therefore, she has to be the mother of God.
@Apple32152 >> Only God is omnipresent to be able to hear our prayers and receive our adoration.
We do not adore or worship Mary - we honor her. Again, you just ignore what I say - you are just ranting on your same point, ignoring anything to the contrary.
And Mary is in Heaven, the normal earthly rules do not apply. "With God, anything is possible."
@Apple32152 That would make God pretty stupid if after mary's death there was no special reward for her in heaven. Mary died in an abundant state of Grace-she had no sin all her life! Us humans were too corrupt for the Father to just send his son into the world with no medium i.e. Mary. "you have found favour with the lord"
She is the great mother of God, she is the highest honour of our race....
@Apple32152 I find the common denominator I find in every "I used to be Catholic" person I know. You were never explained things, nor did you ever try to study your faith, so therefore you were never truly Catholic. If you had been brave and smart enough to STUDY your own faith rather than running to a Protestant sect, you will be laughing at what you typed... honestly.
@MrDak27 Jesus is meaning "Ok, so you call me good - you know only God is good, right? So, you are speaking better than you know!" He is highlighing to the guy that He IS God. He does not say "Don't call me good" but rather reminds Him only God is good, but does not tell him not to call Him good.
"A Catholic funeral does NOT require repentance but rather signs of repentance - such as requesting a priest, etc." You know, even this is no longer true. A priest once told me during confession that unconscious persons and suicide victims are incapable of giving signs before death, so they too are granted the benefit of charity at the time of their funerals.
@lauermar And that is NOT the case under canon law - what is DONE versus what the law says is a different matter. And it is only for manifest sinners - someone who committed suicide is NOT judged to be so by virtue of the suicide; such acts are (while objectively wrong) invariably committed under psychological stress and illness, and so they are not judged to be manifestly sinful themselves.
Thanks for the clarification. I'm a huge fan of Michael. The Church is ignoring the deleterious effects of scandal on the faithful when it grants charity to Catholic politicians who flaunt the Magesterium. Kennedy's lifelong support of abortion & anti-family legislation, sexual immorality, unworthy communions, civil service marriage to an unannulled divorcee, tasteless Mary Jo Kopechne jokes occurred up to his death. Michael asked if he were cured would he repent is a good question indeed.
Only because the homily was a eulogy? Really? That wasn't what Michael said in his video at all. Michael questioned Kennedy's intentions regarding his pro-life stance by his repeated record of funding and procuring abortions in open defiance of his Catholic faith. From 6:28-7:00, Michael states none of us, including the Bishop, can assume Kennedy repented of that sin. Go back and listen to that video: Bp. Morlino Chastizes Faithful Catholics Scandalized by Ted Kennedy's Funeral
@lauermar But we NEVER say he should not have had a funeral - we question if he repented or not. A Catholic funeral does NOT require "repentance" but rather "signs of repentance" - such as requesting a priest, etc. etc. That is the canon law. We question the eulogies, the televising of the Mass, the presence of a Cardinal, etc. etc. He is (of course) permitted a funeral - but to give him what he got (which includes saying he was alright with God) is NOT good; for him or the faithful.
Also, I may add that if "let's give him the best chance at salvation" holds true, than Michael should have no problem whatsoever with Kennedy's funeral.
@lauermar And we don't have any problem with it - according to Canon Law, he had every right to have one because he gave "signs of repentance". We don't know if he repented, but he gave signs of. The problem with the Kennedy funeral was not that it took place, but that the homily was a eulogy (which it shouldn't be)
@StMichaels: whatever happened to the church's previous stance of not burying known criminals and disbelievers on consecrated ground? I am not speaking specifically of Capone, since he may have had absolution of his sins before dying. However, it used to be that if a criminal got killed while committing a crime (Dillinger), then he was not given a Catholic mass and burial.
@lauermar You need to read Canon Law concerning this - the law is STILL that those who are notorious criminals but do NOT give "signs of repentance" (eg. were killed while commiting a crime) may NOT receive a Catholic funeral.
"...well, you can believe you're good person if your standard of goodness is compared to Al Capone..." Actually, Al Capone received a Catholic burial. He got his last rites in FL, was first buried in Mt. Olivet, then was eventually transferred to Mt. Carmel in Hillside, IL where it remains today.
@lauermar Many people are given Catholic funerals who lived a disolute life - the idea is to be generous to those who have died, and give them the best chance at salvation.
sarikas23-The Protestants shoot themselves in the foot when they quote Rev 22:18 "..if anyone shall add unto these things.." when they calim the CC added books to the bible. But when Rev was written, there was NO canonized bible. It is speaking about the book of Rev itself. However lets assumt it IS talking about the Bible, Prots never mention Rev 22:19 that says "...if anyone shall TAKE AWAY from the word..." and it was Luther who removed books.
I have a protestant friend who likes challenging me abt our catholic faith and Im really bad at quoting scripture. The other day he was askin me how cud v include the books of apocrypha in our bible. Since apparently they have been included after the book of revelations was ritten (Accdg to him) n then he says that the book of revelations says that nothing shud b included after tht book so by including the books of apocrypha, we go against d bible (in theory) ny ideas on how do i reply to this?
@sarikasd23 Dead easy; the Deuterocanonical books were included in the first list of canons (assembled in the 3rd century). They were also all written before 150 BC. Revelation was written in 100 AD. So, Rev. is later than them.
These books were in the Septuagint, which was the Jewish scriptures at the time of Christ.
@sarikasd23 From the time your Church first compiled the Bible after deciding the canon those books were present up until the 1500's and are still present. Ask your friend to show you their bible in the 1400's and those books will be there. So the question is did the Catholics add those books to their Bible? No Did your friend's remove those books from their Bible? The answer is yes if they can't show you a Bible before 1500 without those books. And they can't. Ask him.
Great to hear someone confront Protestantism for what it is - a perversion of Christianity. Too many limp-wristed Catholics are unwilling to stand up for Catholicism and proclaim it as the "True Faith". I am Catholic for one reason, and one reason alone: It's the only Christian church can that can truly and unambiguously trace its origins to Jesus Christ and the 12 apostles. Period. Keep up the good work.
@willintexas What about the Orthodox Churches? They also can trace the lineage back to the apostles to and the Catholic Church recongnizes this lineage?
@SaintMichaelsMedia So it isn't just because a Church can trace it's roots all the way back to the apostles that makes you follow the Catholic Church but that it also still follows the same doctrines (in essence) taught by the apostles. Correct?
@Buzzz46 It is the doctrines taught TO the apostles by Christ. Christianity is about a person - Jesus - and what He said and taught. Only Catholicism teaches and sticks to everything Jesus taught.
Mother Mary will crush the head of Satan. This is the reason why he, the Dragon wage war against this Woman and the rest of Her seed.
“Then the dragon became angry with the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring, those who keep God’s commandments and bear witness to Jesus” (Rev 12:17)
Why did the the catholics change the ten commandments, removing #2, idol worship and then divide # 10, to covet, into two to make up the difference? Doesn't inspire confidence does it?
"There are not more than 100 people in the world who truly hate the Catholic Church, but there are millions who hate what they perceive to be the Catholic Church."
If you think about praying to Mary philosophically it does not make any sense...If Christ died for my sins on the cross and the veil in the Temple was ripped in two so that I may pray directly to God to have mercy on me then why would I need Mary? If I can spend time directly praying to the Lord of all Creation then why should I pray to her. Now I think Mary was an example of a righteous Christian woman but the church is confused on her role.
@TheArsenalfc101 we pray to her so she can pray for us! just like if your sick and you ask somebody to pray to for you... we are not praying to her as if she can bless us, only God can do that,.
I would like to add... if you were given a relique of Christ such as his crown of throns wouldn't you prtoect it with your life and pray with it in your hands because you have something that Christ touched. The same with Mary she carried him in her womb, Christ chose her from the beginning so she must have been a good women, and if she's good enough for him then she is definitely good enough for me. Is there a son who doesn't want paintings made in the honor of his mum?
Catholics pray with all the citzens of Heaven. You asked if we give "the same honor". The answer is no; we give more honor to Mary because she is the Mother of God. But we give honor to all saints.
@SaintMichaelsMedia But you are to only pay homage to Jesus Christ our savior. Not Mary.Yes she was his mother but she'snot the one who died for you. She doesn't deserve praise like Jesus. No one does.
@PopMami Precisely - and so it is VERY fortunate we do NOT give her praise like we give Jesus. However, we should praise her as she is important and holy.
@SaintMichaelsMedia How does she deserve praise? She only gave birth to him, it was God who showed Jesus the way to go. Jesus died on the cross for you, not Mary. She didn't tell him he had to. She's a regular human like you and me. She has to answer to the same God that we do so she is no better than us in any way.
Some people just want "easy-believism", because the american mind is by nature lazy; the rich theological and philisophical traditions of the Roman Church is only (seemingly) attractive to the cognitive elite.
I would not say it is only attractive to the cognitive ELITE - I think your initial statement was closer to the truth. Catholicism is attractive to the congitively ACTIVE, regardless of how excellent they are.
@bmagana I don't think it's about "understanding", but about refusing the truth. Most Protestants KNOW they are wrong, but it's their pride to be Protestant.
@ChrisDaron We had a man who would stand across from the Church parking lot with signs saying Catholics were going to hell for "worshiping Mary"...Going further than Michael did here...I said to him...."was Christ God?" Answer "yes". "Did Christ "honor" his mother as per the 10 commandments"? Answer: "Yes". "Then..as God Isn't it in His prerogative To honor her in a supernatural way...since He is God"? He had no answer for this question...at all. He never came back. After doing this for years.
@bmagana that is a very unique observation and I also have problems with people understanding the simpliest Catholic beliefs. I have defened Mary until my face turned blue and I have tried to explain so many things about the church, and it is almost as if people just refuse to believe what I say,, people have told me I dont even know my own faith because they believe in other bizarre untruths about Catholicism,,it is almost pointless.. I do agree, faith is a gift some people receive.
@mondoshrimpo Having been raised Baptist, I can tell you that there is a very high wall to climb in order for some to understand and accept Catholicism. When you are taught that the Catholic Church is wrong by your parents, grandparents, Sunday school teachers and pastors since your birth, it is very difficult to see things from another perspective, in fact, it can be quite frightening. It shakes the very foundation of what is most important in life: your faith.
Born again? Absolutely. "Born again of water and the spirit" as the Bible says. Baptism being the main way that is done. Being born again is far, far, far, far more than what many of the so-called "Born Again" Christians would say it is.
Anyone can say "Lord", but not all of them will enter Heaven.
excuse me, i have a question, hope you dont mind... what can i say(in defense) to a non catholic saying that the rosary is wrong because in the gospel our Lord said that we should not say repeated prayers??? thank you in advance!!!
>> in the gospel our Lord said that we should not say repeated prayers?
He says no "vain and repetitious" prayers - meaning prayers which are BOTH vain and repetitious. Given the fact many Psalms are very repetitious and Jesus Himself is specifically shown repeating prayers word for word, Jesus has so problem with repeated prayers.
hey thanks for the reply! i have another question though...many non-catholics also say that the mass is wrong (some even say its blasphemy) because of what's written in hebrews that says our Lord does not have to offer himself again (but i also wonder how they would eat the flesh and drink the blood of the son of man without the mass) how are we supposed to respond to that? oh and I hope its not too late to greet you a happy feast of Divine Mercy!!!
>> written in hebrews that says our Lord does not have to offer himself again
This is a simple response; the Mass is not a NEW or different sacrifice; it is the same sacrifice made present to us again. At the Mass the crucifixion (the once and for all sacrifice) is made present to us.
thanks again for answering, but what about the chaplet of Divine Mercy? i firmly believe that this is SURELY from God and this is why i pray it, but i have also read from some anti-catholic sites that because it says "eternal Father, i offer you the body blood soul and divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ" that it contradicts what is written in hebrews (from what i previously asked) thank you always for answering and i hope you don't ever get tired of doing so! :)
>> because it says "eternal Father, i offer you the body blood soul and divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ" that it contradicts what is written in hebrews
Same answer as above; the sacrifice is the SAME sacrifice but offered ETERNALLY by Jesus to the Father. When we "offer" it, what we are saying is the Eternal Sacrifice is offered to overcome our sins. It is offered on our behalf, and by praying the chaplet we are meditating on the sacrifice of Jesus.
The CATHOLIC Church is the only UNITED Church today... Martin Luther tried to reform what he saw as wrong... But he superimposed his false belief 'justification by faith
ALONE' which kis not even Biblical.. St James clearly says justification by faith has to be supported by acts of love - your faith in God must be reflected in your love towards others... Protestants are fond of saying that Catholics worship idols. Yes, we do - our idol is Jesus Christ... Your idol perhaps is Luther?
Lol, yeah! If Martin Luther "reformed" the Church, how is it that today we have over 35,000 different versions of the "reformed" Church. Wasn't it Christ himself that said dissent and division among his people in his Church is not good? And yet there are thousands of divisions of him.
Luther gave birth to division of Christ's body, not unity or "reformation."
Jesus said that a house or a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand -Mark 3:24-26
A difference is not a division. In Revelation, 7 different letters are written to 7 different churches, each one bearing clearly different characteristics with regards to the others.
And the apostle Paul distinctly mentions that we are members of the same body, though we are not all the ear, or the hand.
The church is one as long as it has the same Spirit: the Holy Spirit of God. -1 Corinthians 12:12,13
>> 7 different letters are written to 7 different churches
Different in terms of geographical location, but never doctrine. That is not the case with the Protestants.
>> The church is one as long as it has the same Spirit
Very true - but the Protestants do NOT have the same spirit as the Catholics; if they did, they would believe truths that the first Christians believed.
Protestants reject elements of the truth. They are divided from full communion with the Church.
If you must make a distinction between Christian believers, then you'll place me in the group of protestants.
Yet I can say without a doubt that I have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus, and that I am born again through his resurrection, and that the Holy Spirit of God is the seal that guarantees my salvation in Christ, who is my hope of glory.
If this is your faith too, then we are brothers in Christ and are members of his body, the church.
Yes, we are brothers - but SEPARATED brothers, because you deny the mother who bore you. You deny the Church. And the Sacraments. And the Real Presence. And the Priesthood. And all the other things Christ gave us for our salvation.
"guarantees my salvation"? That is a separation right there.
Please - come home. Why waste your time with the half-truths of the Protestants?
Your abandonment of historical Christianity and your adoption of untruthful elements.
>> I know who I have believed in.
You believe in a counterfeit Jesus - because the REAL Jesus says (for example) that we must literally eat His flesh and drink His blood. And no Protestant does that. Not literally.
>> Why do you dismiss the faith of anyone who is not a catholic?
We don't - but that faith is placed in something which is not real. It is a made-up Jesus.
In fact, many Lutheran protestants believe in the real presence. For the record, I don't. There is in my opinion no reason to believe that Jesus was discussing the Eucharist in John 6. He uses a metaphor (the Bread of Life) to preach what it means to receive salvation by faith. As the body consumes bread and receives physical nutrition, so we should appropriate the merits of Christ by faith for eternal life.
>> There is in my opinion no reason to believe that Jesus was discussing the Eucharist in John 6.
Miss the bit where He says "my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink"? And the bit where He uses the verb "gnaw"? And the bit where He says if you do not eat and drink you have no life? And the consistent and constant teaching of every single Christian (including Luther!) on the matter for over 1500 years?
Yes - your idolatory towards a counterfeit Jesus is VERY insulting to Him.
No, I have certainly not missed those verses. And I also haven't missed the verse where Jesus states "I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world." That verse explains the entire pericope, which is not an explication of the Eucharist but of salvation by faith. His sacrificed body and his shed blood is spiritual food unto eternal life for everyone who receives him.
If you are going to be this silly, I see no reason to continue this conversation.
>> is not an explication of the Eucharist but of salvation by faith
Right. So, your thesis is that when Jesus says "eat my flesh" which is "real food" He does NOT mean eat my flesh, but rather believe in me? And your thesis is that all the Church Fathers (who were taught by the apostles) got it radically wrong? And no-one got it right until about 1600 years later?
This would be funny - but I genuinely think you believe this stuff. At which point, it just becomes embarassing for you.
I have no intention of allowing you to continue to make a fool of yourself, or to keep denying the plain words of Jesus before men. I would be remis in my duty as a Christian to allow you to continue.
The words of Christ and His Church and His followers are clear. You ignore them - at your peril.
All faiths have been started my SINFUL men. The Catholic Church (just the name we had to adopt to seperate the true Christians from te rest) is the one founded by Christ (God-Man) and handed down to Peter (first Pope).
Also the Catholic church is the body, but within the body exist the Western rite or "Roman Latin Rite" and also the Eastern Rite. Now inlcluding or soon to be Anglican rite. Correct me if I am wrong in the matter lol.
In my opinion, and as a Protestant, perhaps one of the greatest points Catholics can make against the Reformation is the fact mrdude999 refers to. Since the Reformation so many false Christs, denominations and heresies have cropped up its admittedly staggering and quite disturbing.
Although my Jack Chick Protestant parents would view this as a positive thing. Apparently, with Chick unity equals a one world religion and worship of Nimrod and Semiramis.
Though there may be 35,000 different protestant denominations, the theological difference between them is most often very small and about matters that do not affect the answer to the question "What must I do to be saved" (Acts 16:30). What unites the protestant denominations is their adherence to the five solas (by Scripture alone, by faith alone, by grace alone, through Christ alone, glory to God alone).
>> Though there may be 35,000 different protestant denominations, the theological difference between them is most often very small and about matters that do not affect the answer to the question "What must I do to be saved"
I'm sorry, but you don't know what you are talking about.
Lutherans and Anglicans accept baptismal regeneration, Baptists do not. Lutherans and Anglicans claim sacraments, Baptists and Methodists do not.
SOME Protestants claim sola scriptura, but Anglicans and others do not. SOME Protestants accept salvation by faith alone, but others are actually capable of reading the Bible (unlike those who claim salvation by faith alone, who are called "ignoramuses" in the Bible) and do not.
There is no consistency in Protestant theology. To claim there is demonstrates a complete ignorance of other denominations.
I would like to know the authority for the use of mechanical instruments in worship of God: I know it's not from the New Testament, church traditions, or the testimony of early church fathers. In fact, it was univerally rejected. Who changed it? In what year? Maybe AD 100? AD 200? Any accepted references would be appreciated. One or two hundred years is plenty of allowance for tradition or statements of church fathers. I fail to see any authority at all for such a practice.
>> I would like to know the authority for the use of mechanical instruments in worship of God: I fail to see any authority at all for such a practice.
You can't have looked too hard then; what about all the Psalms which call for making a joyful noise to the Lord with cymbal and harp and lute? What about the fact David was a harpist?
Can we just drop this ludicrous charge that using musicial instruments is wrong? It's just silly.
Yes, the English word "worship" comes from the Anglo-Saxon "weorthscipe" which means "to give worth." When one worships, one is giving something its due or its worth. It is a very appropriate word to use.
The modern usage of the word is "to give honor befitting the Creator" - it generally only applies to God.
We "give worth" to Mary, but that "worth" is not the worth given to God, because she is NOT God. Although is is worthy of much honor, she is not God and not divine.
I am born a Catholic and will always stay a Catholic. .. for many good(actually BEST ) and rational reasons.
Never leave the Catholic fold in times of shaky faith- don't be another Luther! Stay on ground and understand the one and holy, apostolic Catholic faith-discover more and embrace the fullness of the Catholic Church!
Thank you SaintMicahelsMedia for posting significant videos of Mr Michael Voris.I always find time and pleasure reviewing and re watching all of them. =)
Our Catholic Faith brings us closer to God! If everybody in the world would practice Christian Faith as it should be there would be no wars, hate, hunger, rich, poor, crime, violence, countries, all these things that divide us. If we obey and live the first 2 commandements we can truly change the world
Webster established a dictionary with definitions based on the common meaning of the current day, definitions change. It's meant as a reference, not a Bible. Such as the word "gay" today, it doesn't mean only happy. Look at the root of the word: Middle English, from Anglo-French ... from Medieval Latin... from Latin, feminine of precarius obtained by entreaty, Date:14th century
Entreaty is make an entreat or to make an earnest request.
"Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now"
Praying TO someone IS worship. So how can you say that you don't worship Mary? The bible says nothing of praying to Mary at all. It also says nothing of confessing your sins to a priest to be forgiven of sin.
Through Christian teaching. And through the meaning of the word Prayer
--noun
1. a devout petition to God or an object of worship. 2. a spiritual communion with God or an object of worship, as in supplication, thanksgiving, adoration, or confession.
3. the act or practice of praying to God or an object of worship.
This is where I get my idea. Look at the meaning of the word. Baptism is one thing in the bible that HAS to be done to be a Christian.
That's funny - esp. because the Christian teaching for 2000 years has been that prayer isn't necessarially worship. It's only the Protestants who disagree (who are a very small number of Christians, of course).
>> And through the meaning of the word Prayer
You are using a dictionary to define theological points? Dictionaries are NOT valid for definitions of theological points.
We take communion. He also said to be baptized. No one eats the "real" flesh and blood. Obviously. And yes, I used a dictionary to define the word "prayer". Why shouldn't I? Its a word and it has a meaning.
Prayer is the act of attempting to communicate, commonly with a sequence of words, with a deity or spirit for the purpose of worshipping, requesting guidance, requesting assistance, confessing sins, as an act of reparation or to express one's thoughts and emotion
Can you help me? What is John Paul II that said " Only a few will hate the Catholic Church, but millions will hate what they do not understand about the Catholic Church." I know I read this or heard this somewhere, and I simply love it.. Because I was born and raised Roman Catholic, and throughout my 29 years here on earth I have had several people question my faith, or tell me I'm wrong.. I look at my faith as a miracle, and I always will...
>> What is John Paul II that said " Only a few will hate the Catholic Church, but millions will hate what they do not understand about the Catholic Church."
"Reason is a whore, the greatest enemy that faith has." Martin Luther
I love my Lutheran friends, and I know they and their churches do many good works in the community and love Christ, but I would have to suggest that Luther should have said:
"Reason is a whore, the greatest enemy that Lutheran faith has."
Reply | Spam "Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now"
If I ma not mistaken, the phrase to which you refer ends by stating, "PRAY for us sinners now." What this suggests is that individuals are asking Mary to pray to Christ for them. In other words, this Catholic phrase still acknowledges that it is Christ that forgives sins, but in this case Mary is merely asking Christ to forgive sins. I'm certain that the CC would not suggest that Mary forgives sins.
You know you don't even have to go to church fathers to determine that honoring someone DOES NOT mean worshipping them. Webster's on-line dictionary definition of honor. 1.a: good name or public esteem: reputation b: a showing of usually merited respect : 3: a person of superior standing
I think the Mother of God fits this definitiona very nicely.
>> I think the Mother of God fits this definitiona very nicely.
And you'd be right - but unfortunately lots of our separated brethen don't see her as anything special. Of course, I don't know how they see her in that way - who else bore God in her womb?
Catholics DO Worship Mary. Honor, Worship and Venerate are all synonyms of each other. In scripture when it says Mary you are full of grace, the Grace is about Jesus. It is the Grace of Jesus of what Jesus did on the CROSS. He died for the sinner, He took the place of the sinner, so no one dies with sin. When we Repent and accept the Cross, the we are all full of Grace.
So that readers are claer on this matter SaintMichael's Media, if someone came toyu and stated that Mary is equal with Christ himself, that is to say, she is a goddess and is to be worshiped on par or above Christ, would The Catholic Church condemn this as blasphemy?
The trinity honored Mary, why don't you? And again, you are acting like we have put Mary above Christ, which is no where near truth. Honor and worship are not the same thing, their Greek origins would indicate such. Honoring is much different, I honor our troops, and their actions throughout our history. But I do not worship them, there is a world of vindication.
It is such a joy, to be able to be in communion with the Blessed Mary.
"Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear!43 But why am I so favored, that the MOTHER OF MY LORD should come to me?44 As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.45 Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished!"Hmm let's see, the only Human who wasnt God-Man (Jesus) to follow God's will. I would really consider talking smak about the mother of our Lord and our mother.
Mary Highest of GOD CREATIONS LIE and DECEPTION GOD HOLY ANGELS are above Humans who are SINNERS
mRwhite298 3 months ago
@mRwhite298 Firstly, humans are God's favorites - because we can rise higher than the angels and they are our servants (that is why Satan rebelled - he would not serve). Secondly, Mary is not and never was a sinner. Thirdly, what could POSSIBLY be a higher creation than the woman who would carry God in her womb, the mother of God?

mRwhite298 3 months ago
@mRwhite298 You are a very exciteable fellow.
We have resources about this on our website.

mRwhite298 3 months ago
@mRwhite298 Those who obey the will of the Father - and Mary is the FIRST PERSON in the New Testament to do this; "Behold the slave of the Lord. Be it done unto me according to Your will." She is the most perfect example of giving into the will of God.
And I notice you don't address the fact the BIBLE says "Mother of my Lord" to refer to Mary. Elizabeth says that while inspired by the Holy Spirit, so she can't be lying.

@24nmoran We have some very good resources on our website (link in teh description of the video) for apologetics and learning more about the faith.
SaintMichaelsMedia 9 months ago
@24nmoran There are some very good websites like Catholic Answers where you can find answers to all your questions about dogma, doctrine and theology in general. It's a great site for refuting and educating yourself against false protestant claims. Catholic teaching and theology is shown using Scripture, Tradition and the Magisterium of The Church. You will be amazed at the Biblical evidence for Catholicism and how the writings of the early Church Fathers reinforce Catholic teaching.

@24nmoran Hi, If I can give you advice: go to the mass and receive the Eucharist on sundays, try to confess every month and pray the rosary.

Apple32152 9 months ago
@Apple32152 Mary is the mother of God, the human who carried God in her womb. And the saints are holy people, perfected in Heaven. OF COURSE we kneel before their statues as a mark of respect; we kneel on earth before Kings and Princes, why not kneel before members of the Court of Heaven? Kneeling is not worship, nor do Catholics worship Mary. Worship means to acknowledge as creator, and Mary is a creature. We do NOT worship her - we honor her.
SaintMichaelsMedia 9 months ago
@Apple32152 Also, why DON'T YOU praise Mary? You seem to say it is wrong to praise Mary - when she says, when filled with the Holy Spirit, "all generations will call me blessed." You don't seem to honor the Mother of God, or give her any respect. How rude and ungrateful of you to the woman who said "Be it done unto me according to Your will"!
SaintMichaelsMedia 9 months ago
Hi StMM..According to the New Testatment, Mary was only the earthly mother of Jesus, she was never deemed mother of God. Scripture states God has no beginning and no end and that Jesus was already with the Father before creation. Why would God need a mother? To kneel & praise her is to put her at God's level which is idol worship. The Bible doesn't support the belief that Mary is part of the Godhead. Only God is omnipresent to be able to hear our prayers and receive our adoration.
Apple32152 9 months ago
@Apple32152 That thing you are fighting? It is called a strawman :)
>> According to the New Testatment, Mary was only the earthly mother of Jesus, she was never deemed mother of God
Not true - word's of Saint Elizabeth "Who am I that the MOTHER OF MY LORD" should come to me. Lord is used in the Bible to mean "God" because the Jews did not say the name of God, but rather used His title of Lord.
Jesus is God. Mary is the mother of Jesus. Therefore, she has to be the mother of God.
SaintMichaelsMedia 9 months ago
@Apple32152 >> To kneel & praise her is to put her at God's level
No, it does not - as I pointed out above. You are just ignoring what I say (and what the Bible says when Elizabeth speaks).
>> The Bible doesn't support the belief that Mary is part of the Godhead.
And Catholics don't say she is - this is the strawman. Feel good about knocking it down?
SaintMichaelsMedia 9 months ago
@Apple32152 >> Only God is omnipresent to be able to hear our prayers and receive our adoration.
We do not adore or worship Mary - we honor her. Again, you just ignore what I say - you are just ranting on your same point, ignoring anything to the contrary.
And Mary is in Heaven, the normal earthly rules do not apply. "With God, anything is possible."
SaintMichaelsMedia 9 months ago
@Apple32152 That would make God pretty stupid if after mary's death there was no special reward for her in heaven. Mary died in an abundant state of Grace-she had no sin all her life! Us humans were too corrupt for the Father to just send his son into the world with no medium i.e. Mary. "you have found favour with the lord"
She is the great mother of God, she is the highest honour of our race....
seanom23 8 months ago
@Apple32152 I find the common denominator I find in every "I used to be Catholic" person I know. You were never explained things, nor did you ever try to study your faith, so therefore you were never truly Catholic. If you had been brave and smart enough to STUDY your own faith rather than running to a Protestant sect, you will be laughing at what you typed... honestly.

"A Catholic funeral does NOT require repentance but rather signs of repentance - such as requesting a priest, etc." You know, even this is no longer true. A priest once told me during confession that unconscious persons and suicide victims are incapable of giving signs before death, so they too are granted the benefit of charity at the time of their funerals.
lauermar 1 year ago
@lauermar And that is NOT the case under canon law - what is DONE versus what the law says is a different matter. And it is only for manifest sinners - someone who committed suicide is NOT judged to be so by virtue of the suicide; such acts are (while objectively wrong) invariably committed under psychological stress and illness, and so they are not judged to be manifestly sinful themselves.
SaintMichaelsMedia 1 year ago 5
Thanks for the clarification. I'm a huge fan of Michael. The Church is ignoring the deleterious effects of scandal on the faithful when it grants charity to Catholic politicians who flaunt the Magesterium. Kennedy's lifelong support of abortion & anti-family legislation, sexual immorality, unworthy communions, civil service marriage to an unannulled divorcee, tasteless Mary Jo Kopechne jokes occurred up to his death. Michael asked if he were cured would he repent is a good question indeed.
lauermar 1 year ago
Only because the homily was a eulogy? Really? That wasn't what Michael said in his video at all. Michael questioned Kennedy's intentions regarding his pro-life stance by his repeated record of funding and procuring abortions in open defiance of his Catholic faith. From 6:28-7:00, Michael states none of us, including the Bishop, can assume Kennedy repented of that sin. Go back and listen to that video: Bp. Morlino Chastizes Faithful Catholics Scandalized by Ted Kennedy's Funeral
lauermar 1 year ago
@lauermar But we NEVER say he should not have had a funeral - we question if he repented or not. A Catholic funeral does NOT require "repentance" but rather "signs of repentance" - such as requesting a priest, etc. etc. That is the canon law. We question the eulogies, the televising of the Mass, the presence of a Cardinal, etc. etc. He is (of course) permitted a funeral - but to give him what he got (which includes saying he was alright with God) is NOT good; for him or the faithful.
SaintMichaelsMedia 1 year ago
Also, I may add that if "let's give him the best chance at salvation" holds true, than Michael should have no problem whatsoever with Kennedy's funeral.
lauermar 1 year ago
@lauermar And we don't have any problem with it - according to Canon Law, he had every right to have one because he gave "signs of repentance". We don't know if he repented, but he gave signs of. The problem with the Kennedy funeral was not that it took place, but that the homily was a eulogy (which it shouldn't be)
SaintMichaelsMedia 1 year ago
@StMichaels: whatever happened to the church's previous stance of not burying known criminals and disbelievers on consecrated ground? I am not speaking specifically of Capone, since he may have had absolution of his sins before dying. However, it used to be that if a criminal got killed while committing a crime (Dillinger), then he was not given a Catholic mass and burial.
lauermar 1 year ago
@lauermar You need to read Canon Law concerning this - the law is STILL that those who are notorious criminals but do NOT give "signs of repentance" (eg. were killed while commiting a crime) may NOT receive a Catholic funeral.
SaintMichaelsMedia 1 year ago
"...well, you can believe you're good person if your standard of goodness is compared to Al Capone..." Actually, Al Capone received a Catholic burial. He got his last rites in FL, was first buried in Mt. Olivet, then was eventually transferred to Mt. Carmel in Hillside, IL where it remains today.
lauermar 1 year ago
@lauermar Many people are given Catholic funerals who lived a disolute life - the idea is to be generous to those who have died, and give them the best chance at salvation.

sarikasd23 1 year ago
@sarikasd23 Dead easy; the Deuterocanonical books were included in the first list of canons (assembled in the 3rd century). They were also all written before 150 BC. Revelation was written in 100 AD. So, Rev. is later than them.
These books were in the Septuagint, which was the Jewish scriptures at the time of Christ.
SaintMichaelsMedia 1 year ago

Period. Keep up the good work.
willintexas 1 year ago
@willintexas What about the Orthodox Churches? They also can trace the lineage back to the apostles to and the Catholic Church recongnizes this lineage?
Buzzz46 1 year ago
@Buzzz46 They can trace their lineage back, it is true, but they do not follow ALL the teachings of Christ (specifically, the primacy of Peter).
SaintMichaelsMedia 1 year ago
@SaintMichaelsMedia So it isn't just because a Church can trace it's roots all the way back to the apostles that makes you follow the Catholic Church but that it also still follows the same doctrines (in essence) taught by the apostles. Correct?

@Buzzz46 It is the doctrines taught TO the apostles by Christ. Christianity is about a person - Jesus - and what He said and taught. Only Catholicism teaches and sticks to everything Jesus taught.

TheArsenalfc101 1 year ago
@TheArsenalfc101 I doubt you are thinking philosophically - what are your qualifications?
In any case; we are allowed to speak directly to God - so why do I need to talk to you? Or my wife? Or my mother, or any other human?
Answer; we don't NEED to. It is polite and gives glory to God by honoring that which he made.
When you stop talking to anyone but God, then I will believe you are living your "philosophy". Until then, kindly stop being hypocritical.

harleykuros 2 years ago
>> in the gospel our Lord said that we should not say repeated prayers?
He says no "vain and repetitious" prayers - meaning prayers which are BOTH vain and repetitious. Given the fact many Psalms are very repetitious and Jesus Himself is specifically shown repeating prayers word for word, Jesus has so problem with repeated prayers.
SaintMichaelsMedia 2 years ago
hey thanks for the reply! i have another question though...many non-catholics also say that the mass is wrong (some even say its blasphemy) because of what's written in hebrews that says our Lord does not have to offer himself again (but i also wonder how they would eat the flesh and drink the blood of the son of man without the mass) how are we supposed to respond to that? oh and I hope its not too late to greet you a happy feast of Divine Mercy!!!
harleykuros 2 years ago
>> written in hebrews that says our Lord does not have to offer himself again
This is a simple response; the Mass is not a NEW or different sacrifice; it is the same sacrifice made present to us again. At the Mass the crucifixion (the once and for all sacrifice) is made present to us.
SaintMichaelsMedia 2 years ago
thanks again for answering, but what about the chaplet of Divine Mercy? i firmly believe that this is SURELY from God and this is why i pray it, but i have also read from some anti-catholic sites that because it says "eternal Father, i offer you the body blood soul and divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ" that it contradicts what is written in hebrews (from what i previously asked) thank you always for answering and i hope you don't ever get tired of doing so! :)
harleykuros 2 years ago
>> because it says "eternal Father, i offer you the body blood soul and divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ" that it contradicts what is written in hebrews

Good point Keith.

-1 Corinthians 12:12,13
pepetruelo 2 years ago 2

If this is your faith too, then we are brothers in Christ and are members of his body, the church.
pepetruelo 2 years ago
>> then we are brothers in Christ
Yes, we are brothers - but SEPARATED brothers, because you deny the mother who bore you. You deny the Church. And the Sacraments. And the Real Presence. And the Priesthood. And all the other things Christ gave us for our salvation.
"guarantees my salvation"? That is a separation right there.
Please - come home. Why waste your time with the half-truths of the Protestants?

Childinfaith, my comment wasn't intended to be a "defence". What should I defend? I know who I have believed in.
Perhaps I fail to understand what you are trying to prove here. Why do you dismiss the faith of anyone who is not a catholic?
pepetruelo 2 years ago
>> What should I defend?

"Counterfeit Jesus" ... how insulting.
thinkerj 2 years ago
>> There is in my opinion no reason to believe that Jesus was discussing the Eucharist in John 6.
Miss the bit where He says "my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink"? And the bit where He uses the verb "gnaw"? And the bit where He says if you do not eat and drink you have no life? And the consistent and constant teaching of every single Christian (including Luther!) on the matter for over 1500 years?
Yes - your idolatory towards a counterfeit Jesus is VERY insulting to Him.
SaintMichaelsMedia 2 years ago
No, I have certainly not missed those verses. And I also haven't missed the verse where Jesus states "I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world." That verse explains the entire pericope, which is not an explication of the Eucharist but of salvation by faith. His sacrificed body and his shed blood is spiritual food unto eternal life for everyone who receives him.
thinkerj 2 years ago
If you are going to be this silly, I see no reason to continue this conversation.
>> is not an explication of the Eucharist but of salvation by faith
Right. So, your thesis is that when Jesus says "eat my flesh" which is "real food" He does NOT mean eat my flesh, but rather believe in me? And your thesis is that all the Church Fathers (who were taught by the apostles) got it radically wrong? And no-one got it right until about 1600 years later?
SaintMichaelsMedia 2 years ago
This would be funny - but I genuinely think you believe this stuff. At which point, it just becomes embarassing for you.
I have no intention of allowing you to continue to make a fool of yourself, or to keep denying the plain words of Jesus before men. I would be remis in my duty as a Christian to allow you to continue.
The words of Christ and His Church and His followers are clear. You ignore them - at your peril.

There are SEVERAL Eastern Rites, and the status of the Anglican Rite is still not clear - the Church has not said exactly how that will work.

What unites the protestant denominations is their adherence to the five solas (by Scripture alone, by faith alone, by grace alone, through Christ alone, glory to God alone).
thinkerj 2 years ago
>> Though there may be 35,000 different protestant denominations, the theological difference between them is most often very small and about matters that do not affect the answer to the question "What must I do to be saved"
I'm sorry, but you don't know what you are talking about.
Lutherans and Anglicans accept baptismal regeneration, Baptists do not. Lutherans and Anglicans claim sacraments, Baptists and Methodists do not.
SaintMichaelsMedia 2 years ago
SOME Protestants claim sola scriptura, but Anglicans and others do not. SOME Protestants accept salvation by faith alone, but others are actually capable of reading the Bible (unlike those who claim salvation by faith alone, who are called "ignoramuses" in the Bible) and do not.
There is no consistency in Protestant theology. To claim there is demonstrates a complete ignorance of other denominations.

DerektheDuctTape 3 years ago

Mass, first and foremost. That is the best and most perfect form of worship.
But, in the wider sense, it means to acknowledge and praise someone as the Uncreated Creator.

You can't have looked too hard then; what about all the Psalms which call for making a joyful noise to the Lord with cymbal and harp and lute? What about the fact David was a harpist?
Can we just drop this ludicrous charge that using musicial instruments is wrong? It's just silly.
SaintMichaelsMedia 3 years ago
God has given people the ability to play instruments and why is it against God to give the talents back to him?
underdude93 3 years ago 2
Yes, the English word "worship" comes from the Anglo-Saxon "weorthscipe" which means "to give worth." When one worships, one is giving something its due or its worth. It is a very appropriate word to use.
trinitychiq 2 years ago
The modern usage of the word is "to give honor befitting the Creator" - it generally only applies to God.
We "give worth" to Mary, but that "worth" is not the worth given to God, because she is NOT God. Although is is worthy of much honor, she is not God and not divine.
SaintMichaelsMedia 2 years ago
Well, I probably should have typed in this:
"It is a very appropriate word to use for God" describing what Mass accomplishes. Giving God His worth, modest as our efforts are.
Sorry if you got confused! I didn't mean to indicate that "worship" applied specifically to Mary herself.
trinitychiq 2 years ago
If you guys don't believe that she's divine, why is she referred as the Queen of Heaven? Because of her assumption and she "grew" into the role?
siamus 2 years ago

Our Catholic Faith brings us closer to God! If everybody in the world would practice Christian Faith as it should be there would be no wars, hate, hunger, rich, poor, crime, violence, countries, all these things that divide us. If we obey and live the first 2 commandements we can truly change the world
God Bless!

Very true! And those commandments are;
I am the LORD your God: you shall not have strange Gods before me!
ou shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain!
Many non-Catholic Christians get it wrong, and split the first commandment into two. This is a very modern and inaccurate practice.
Thanks for the comment, Grekito!

Making a request is not worship.
1stIrishRose 3 years ago
"Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now"
Praying TO someone IS worship. So how can you say that you don't worship Mary? The bible says nothing of praying to Mary at all. It also says nothing of confessing your sins to a priest to be forgiven of sin.
Delaney1201 3 years ago
>> Praying TO someone IS worship.
Where do you get that idea? Prayer is conversation. Prayer and worship are different things - this why there are different words for them.
Can you please tell me where in the Bible something has to be in the Bible in order to be Christian, please? That is implicit in your comment.
SaintMichaelsMedia 3 years ago
Through Christian teaching. And through the meaning of the word Prayer
--noun
1. a devout petition to God or an object of worship. 2. a spiritual communion with God or an object of worship, as in supplication, thanksgiving, adoration, or confession.
3. the act or practice of praying to God or an object of worship.
This is where I get my idea. Look at the meaning of the word. Baptism is one thing in the bible that HAS to be done to be a Christian.
Delaney1201 3 years ago
>> Through Christian teaching.
SaintMichaelsMedia 3 years ago
>> Baptism is one thing in the bible that HAS to be done to be a Christian.
So Jesus was lying when He said "if you don't eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood you have no life in you"?
We MUST eat Jesus' flesh and drink His blood. His real, actual flesh and blood. Which the Protestants don't do.
SaintMichaelsMedia 3 years ago
We take communion. He also said to be baptized. No one eats the "real" flesh and blood. Obviously. And yes, I used a dictionary to define the word "prayer". Why shouldn't I? Its a word and it has a meaning.
Delaney1201 3 years ago
>> No one eats the "real" flesh and blood.
Then no-on is going to Heaven. And you might want to take that up with the Church Fathers, who maintained it is the real flesh and blood.
And Jesus; "my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink". "This IS my body". "This IS my blood".
>> I used a dictionary to define the word "prayer". Why shouldn't I?
Because a dictionary is not written by trained theologians.
SaintMichaelsMedia 3 years ago
@Delaney1201 Boy you are so wrong in that one. So you are baptized, but its not "really" water?
evilfreddy2006 2 years ago
Prayer is the act of attempting to communicate, commonly with a sequence of words, with a deity or spirit for the purpose of worshipping, requesting guidance, requesting assistance, confessing sins, as an act of reparation or to express one's thoughts and emotion

"It also says nothing of confessing your sins to a priest to be forgiven of sin."
Would you agree the apostles could be considered the first priests?
After the Resurection - John 20:23 "If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them...
Why would Christ even mention future forgiveness of sin if "The Cross took care of all sin forever"?
Of course Christ knew they weren't immortal. So who would He use to forgive future generations' sins BESIDES priests after the apostles' deaths?

"Reason is a whore, the greatest enemy that faith has." Martin Luther
I love my Lutheran friends, and I know they and their churches do many good works in the community and love Christ, but I would have to suggest that Luther should have said:

Reply | Spam "Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now"
If I ma not mistaken, the phrase to which you refer ends by stating, "PRAY for us sinners now." What this suggests is that individuals are asking Mary to pray to Christ for them. In other words, this Catholic phrase still acknowledges that it is Christ that forgives sins, but in this case Mary is merely asking Christ to forgive sins. I'm certain that the CC would not suggest that Mary forgives sins.
Mechanized0 2 years ago 2
You know you don't even have to go to church fathers to determine that honoring someone DOES NOT mean worshipping them. Webster's on-line dictionary definition of honor. 1.a: good name or public esteem: reputation b: a showing of usually merited respect : 3: a person of superior standing
I think the Mother of God fits this definitiona very nicely.

When we Repent and accept the Cross, the we are all full of Grace.
manard099 3 years ago
>> Honor, Worship and Venerate are all synonyms of each other.
So, I suppose that when we call a Judge "your honor" we are worshiping him? Oh, no - wait. We don't.
>> In scripture when it says Mary you are full of grace, the Grace is about Jesus.
Pity none of the early Church Fathers agree with you, and none of the Reformers agreed with you, and that you are just making that up.
In all seriousness, why should anyone believe your interpretation of Scripture? It's not authentic.

2tobytwo 1 year ago
The trinity honored Mary, why don't you? And again, you are acting like we have put Mary above Christ, which is no where near truth. Honor and worship are not the same thing, their Greek origins would indicate such. Honoring is much different, I honor our troops, and their actions throughout our history. But I do not worship them, there is a world of vindication.
It is such a joy, to be able to be in communion with the Blessed Mary.
