Great vid, I have a morris 1100 engine myself that needs the full overhaul treatment. I will be referencing your videos when I get around to doing it!
Funny you should say that, I have been watching the videos of your 1100 Morris. I want to make a similar set up like you are building. Ultimately I would like to belt this engine up to a vintage looking generator head and have a nice stationary power unit. I will have to engieer some kind of governor for it though.
Thats coming on well. I love the sound of these old morris engine, burbling things and with response to whatyou were saying about the conecting rods I would have thought they are some sort of alloy, not just iron.
I know its funny right! We moved into this house at a time when I wasn't yet into this kind of stuff. Next thing ya know there are 4 shelves full of engines, a work bench and 5 100+ pound engines on the floor. Needless to say that carpet is staying for a while.

cool!, the one i have was used as a stationary pump/gen engine for years - hence why its pretty rough. but they work surprisingly well!.
governing would be an interesting project, maybe go old-skool with a flyweight type arrangement :D

Thanks! In not exactly sure what the con rods are made of, I just said iron because they wern't an aluminum alloy.
Your probably right I will have to look into that and see what they really are.

Thanks, I don't mean to be a pain but it's just a passing coment : )
Good luck with it. And with regards to painting it, the block were often painted olive drab, army green.
