I will send you a personal message when the website is up. It will have a configuration section where you can customize your own box before ordering. Number of outlets, power monitoring options, environmental sensing options and wifi options will be selectable.
Wow, that looks like you had to do a lot of work!
The CNC part was really cool.
I'm looking into being able to click on a web page button to open a gate on the other side of town. The electronics and embedded controller are not the problem, I don't know how to get from the click of the mouse on an html link to a signal to my controller. Can you point me in the right direction or give me any tips?
I haven't picked one out yet. I was asked to accomplish this for a client and I am just beginning to figure out how to do it.
I have experience with electronics, computers and networks but am at a loss as to how to get a mouse click to activate a device on the other side of town.
@breezebro I used a Lantronix XPORT ethernet-to-serial module for the power outlet controller. If all you need is an open/close signal, that module has some controllable logic lines. It supports secure comms too.
Oh, and you'll probably need to set up port forwarding to talk to it behind a router.

Does your controller have an ethernet interface?

@pdgelling I chedked it out and the Lantronix XPORT sure looks like it was made for this type of application. Thanks for the info!
